2004 btw.

narly dude lol (Clay), Tuesday, 16 June 2009 23:07 (sixteen years ago)

Lakers wins were completely unfun and two Lakers losses were accompanied by pretty uninspired play on their part.

2005 seems like it should have been the best series, cuz it was the "closest" and the only seven gamer but it was sort of like each team played their best and the other team stunk up the joint and then they reversed it and then the Spurs finally won. The other Spurs wins were even less enjoyable.

2006 was the most surprising and ultimately entertaining, I guess. Plus Wade's performance was probably the most exciting of all these series.

Yeah, that's a f----g unconscionable typo.

Daniel, Esq., Wednesday, 17 June 2009 01:10 (sixteen years ago)

ooooooops.

i think i was just so used to giving the (4) to the western conference teams that i slipped.

narly dude lol (Clay), Wednesday, 17 June 2009 01:27 (sixteen years ago)

Voted 2004, which was great for several reasons. The Lakers reign at the top was ended and they imploded shortly thereafter. Payton and Malone were cockblocked, not that I have anything against either personally, but at the time it seemed like such a blatant piggyback ring-grab by both that I was glad to see them both fail. The Pistons team that year was great too, and it was nice to see a team with no obvious superstars take it against a squad full of diva all-stars; true team basketball in a post-Jordan era. Also, LB finally winning a chip.

2008: genuine suspense as to the outcome, massive comeback, kg yelling a lot

"Bytchass of Juxberry" rules (hmmmm), Wednesday, 17 June 2009 02:17 (sixteen years ago)

2004 introduced the nation to Larry Brown's mega-hot wife, so that.

Leee, Wednesday, 17 June 2009 03:14 (sixteen years ago)

2007: Spurs (4) vs Cavs (0) - MVP: Parker

Anybody that votes for this needs to die slowly and painfully.

2001: Lakers (4) vs 76ers (1) - MVP: Shaq

horrible finals, all of these, but that was a pretty decent series even tho it was 4-1 - AI vs the world + also ty lue

2004 wasn't that good cuz that lakers team was sorry as hell

swag serf (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 17 June 2009 03:48 (sixteen years ago)

were the 2000 finals any good? i remember that pacers team pretty well but am drawing a blank on the games

circles, Wednesday, 17 June 2009 04:36 (sixteen years ago)

i couldn't watch it after the blazers imploded in game 7 of the western conf. finals.

narly dude lol (Clay), Wednesday, 17 June 2009 05:02 (sixteen years ago)

2003 is underrated in the worst finals ever sweepstakes

"Bytchass of Juxberry" rules (hmmmm), Wednesday, 17 June 2009 05:58 (sixteen years ago)

What an awful decade of Finals. But there's a lot of bad Finals, or at least Finals that didn't have much drama. Aside from 2005, the only 4-3 series in the last 30 years were in 1993-1994 (NY/Houston), 1987-1988 (LA/Detroit), and 1983-1984 (Boston/LA, where the good guys won and LARRY BIRD was Finals MVP, BTW).

Outside of Game 1 I have completely banished this Finals from my memory

lol @ 2002

am0n, Wednesday, 17 June 2009 14:10 (sixteen years ago)

yah the early 00s nets might be the worst finals team in the last couple of decades and they produced probably two of the top three worst finals of the decade...at least even cavs getting swept had lebron and mike browns nice glasses

schrödinger's googler (agent hibachi), Wednesday, 17 June 2009 17:03 (sixteen years ago)

voted 08 btw bc i can recall the exact sound of mike breen saying "the celtics POURING it ON" during the giant blowout and it always lifts my spirits

schrödinger's googler (agent hibachi), Wednesday, 17 June 2009 17:04 (sixteen years ago)

shaq three peat was really one good opponent away from being a classic set 4 all time tho...so weird how for much of the decade the western conf finals was really the finals

am0n, Wednesday, 17 June 2009 19:12 (sixteen years ago)

2004, merely because it knocked the smug Lakers, who attempted that year to prove that the regular season doesn't matter, down a peg

III IV V (Bo Jackson Overdrive), Wednesday, 17 June 2009 23:21 (sixteen years ago)

983-1984 (Boston/LA, where the good guys won and LARRY BIRD was Finals MVP, BTW)

Shut the hell up. Go play with Shaughenessesy and Ryan and McMullin and leave the rest of us alone.

Two Will Get You Three (B.L.A.M.), Wednesday, 17 June 2009 23:44 (sixteen years ago)

As for series, totally voted last year's, even though the Lake show lost. Just too much cool history going into the LA/Boston rivalry.

Two Will Get You Three (B.L.A.M.), Wednesday, 17 June 2009 23:45 (sixteen years ago)

It was fun for sure but there was something missing. I still liked seeing the Celtics return to prominence though. Just felt...right.

III IV V (Bo Jackson Overdrive), Wednesday, 17 June 2009 23:50 (sixteen years ago)

ust felt...right.

Yeah, see ... I'm not a homer for either BOS or LA. I'm not from here or there. But I live in LA, and I have a LOT of hometown LA sports fans who switched from the "Man, I hope KG gets a ring." to "FUCK THAT GUY."

While I don't agree with this, I can understand it.

That said, I am glad he, and Ray Allen got theirs. Paul Pierce...I mean, I guess I respect him for being able to come back after being stabbed 11 times, but I just don't like his game too much.

And honestly, I liked seeing Kobe get put through the ringer. I knew he was going to win this year after the way it went down last year.

Two Will Get You Three (B.L.A.M.), Wednesday, 17 June 2009 23:59 (sixteen years ago)

04-06, 08 are the only real contenders. 05 is special because it was like the only dramatic spurs finals. 04 was nice for the aforementioned reasons, 06 was tite for the legendary choke job by the mavs, 08 08 anything is possiblllllle 80 80 best celebration of the 00s for sure. obligated to h8 laker wins, 07 feels tainted 4 me due to the amare suspension, 03 was a boring series but nice for th rise of steven jax and the swan song for d-rob. 02 the worst due to me having no memories at all of the series.

lol.

Daniel, Esq., Thursday, 18 June 2009 00:54 (sixteen years ago)

xp it was hard for laker fans to stay awake for that one no worries. all those dynasty wcf >>>>>>>> finals, especially since archrivals got taken down one by one (sry)

secret language of thirstay (tremendoid), Thursday, 18 June 2009 00:57 (sixteen years ago)

kinda easy to forget how dominate the 00-01 lakers were. they almost ran the table throughout the playoffs if not for AI having that awesome game one of the finals.

carne asada, Thursday, 18 June 2009 01:09 (sixteen years ago)

Really? I think most people think of that as the one undisputedly great Shaq/Kobe Laker team. What they did to San Antonio that WCFs was seriously wow.

fidelol gastrofl (hmmmm), Sunday, 21 June 2009 07:19 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah. I voted for the Heat-Mavs series, but putting the decade's two Lakers' Finals losses at the top of the poll is an A+ result.

Haha, who voted for this year's Finals?!?
