New Jersey (24.6%)

lol

skogsturducken (am0n), Friday, 26 March 2010 21:10 (fifteen years ago)

Indiana (2.2%) -- i guess him & danny granger would be fun, but this would pretty much wipe him of the map
Philadelphia (5.1%) -- would be okay with this tbh
Detroit (7.6%) -- *shakes head slowly*
Washington (12.1%) -- this is v intriguing -- washington seems to be fucked over for a long time, and uh, not sure any youngster needs to go into this environment, but him & blatche could be a worse young lil core to build around + don't they have more picks?
New Jersey (24.6%) -- wouldn't hate this -- nets are kinda lil brother but adding wall would with lopez & cdr & another pick in the 11 draft would make them a potential playoff contender (bottom 3 seeds obv) in 12/13 a la the thunder
Utah (2.8%) -- obv wouldn't take wall
Clippers (2.5%) -- this would be awesome in many, many ways -- eric gordon would slay people with wall driving & dishing to him and wall and blake griffin on the fast break would be breathtaking -- obv this would turn out terribly in some form tho
Sacramento (7%) -- this would actually be really good for the kings? they could move tyreke over. man that would be a scary team
Golden State (13.6%) -- they have no use for him, would really benefit from replacing maggette with evan turner or getting a useful big man like cousins or cole aldrich
Minnesota (20.2%) -- would have to trade out of the #1 or pick someone else after last year's draft right?

Violent (J0rdan S.), Friday, 26 March 2010 21:12 (fifteen years ago)

even tho it would never happen, i'm voting for GS cuz if steph & wall were on the same team together i'd move out to the bay and cop season tickets

dude nets are sitting on ten wins and i think harris' ceiling is pretty much established. gotta go with upside imo.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:20 (fifteen years ago)

right and all that is because of devin harris?? don't get it

ain't no thang but a chicken ㅋ (dyao), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:22 (fifteen years ago)

yeah, harris is nice but wall has a chance to enter the chris paul/derron williams echelon -- that same thinking led to the "we don't need carmelo or wade, we have tayshaun & rip hamilton!"

hipster puddy (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:23 (fifteen years ago)

not that evan turner is darko, but still

hipster puddy (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:23 (fifteen years ago)

I dunno I don't think getting a new PG is what you need to get the nets out of this slump. they need a CULTURE CHANGE bring in KEVIN GARNETT

ain't no thang but a chicken ㅋ (dyao), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:25 (fifteen years ago)

dyao i'm just saying the nets are not a piece or two away--get an extremely talented young player in there and control his best years.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:25 (fifteen years ago)

i mean alternatively you're suggesting that they could/should "build around devin harris" which is wacky

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:26 (fifteen years ago)

and sadly PGs aren't what you build your team around these days ;_;

ain't no thang but a chicken ㅋ (dyao), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:26 (fifteen years ago)

here's another example: i'm pretty sure that the warriors are happy to have stephen curry, even if they also have monta and will eventually have to get rid of him -- that's a good problem, as opposed to having monta & jordan hill or w/e

hipster puddy (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:27 (fifteen years ago)

well on papers the nets are really good - brook lopez, devin harris, courtney lee, yi jianlian. they just need a good coach who will put their heads on straight

ain't no thang but a chicken ㅋ (dyao), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:27 (fifteen years ago)

chad ford called john wall 'the best athlete ive ever seen' and my mind stopped for a sec i admit

~cankles~ (ice cr?m), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:28 (fifteen years ago)

i think it would be sick if the nets got demarcus cousins -- that would be some bynum/gasol type shit potentially

hipster puddy (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:28 (fifteen years ago)

and I love GSW to death but really?? they are 21-52 for the season, anyone can see that steph curry bless his soul is/was a poor fit for the team

ain't no thang but a chicken ㅋ (dyao), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:29 (fifteen years ago)

btw Utah (2.8%) is #2 in the west, this is some mistake

~cankles~ (ice cr?m), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:29 (fifteen years ago)

utah has a first round pick from isiah's knicks iirc

ain't no thang but a chicken ㅋ (dyao), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:30 (fifteen years ago)

ahh damn, claasique gm

~cankles~ (ice cr?m), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:31 (fifteen years ago)

worst case scenario would be wall to wizards, that team is full of chuckleheads who would undoubtedly be a good influence to a developing rookie

ain't no thang but a chicken ㅋ (dyao), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:31 (fifteen years ago)

re: curry what i'm saying is this -- look at the people drafted AFTER curry

Jordan Hill
DeMar DeRozan
Brandon Jennings
Terrence Williams
Gerald Henderson
Tyler Hansbrough
Earl Clark
Austin Daye
James Johnson

if the warriors had gone "we already have a PG, let's take terrence williams to shore up our future at SF!" that would've been totally retarded and the franchise would be way worse off than if they hadn't picked the best player, even if it's not a perfect fit right now. i think drafting for position & not value is almost always a terrible idea

hipster puddy (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:34 (fifteen years ago)

yeah, drafting for value really worked out well for the wolves ^.^

ain't no thang but a chicken ㅋ (dyao), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:38 (fifteen years ago)

okay well i'm not about to defend THAT

hipster puddy (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:38 (fifteen years ago)

i mean, that was stupid because what they're saying is "our future is two point guards" whereas drafting john wall even if you have devin harris is saying "our future is john wall, and we'll figure out a way to move devin harris, as good as he is"

hipster puddy (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:39 (fifteen years ago)

lol srsly lets not act like what the wolves did was in any way normal or illuminated a plan of any kind

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:40 (fifteen years ago)

lol. I think the Nets are in a prime situation for a 'from worst to first' kind of scenario a la the 91 twins or something - they have all the pieces, but they're just not clicking right for whatever reason. I would take evan turner and bring in a new coach and possibly some russian babes & machine guns

ain't no thang but a chicken ㅋ (dyao), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:40 (fifteen years ago)

ftr i wouldn't be against them picking evan turner, if they think he's a better player than john wall -- i would have a huge problem with them passing on the best player because of someone currently on their 9 win team

hipster puddy (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:41 (fifteen years ago)

well tbh what boggles my mind is devin harris still has upside - he's only in his 5th year in the league, and already averaging 18 and 7. and you're acting like john wall is the second coming of jordan based on one season at kentucky surrounded by coach cal and all-americans

ain't no thang but a chicken ㅋ (dyao), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:41 (fifteen years ago)

ive heard what many teams do these days is arrange their draft boards by tiers, grouping players they believe to be of roughly equal potential

tier 1
john wall

tier 2
evan turner
derrick favors
demarcus cousins

tier 3
john doe
jimi hendrix
jenna haze

then when its their turn to select theyll take a player from the highest tier remaining, if theres more than one player left in a tier theyll choose based on need - pretty sensical system imo

~cankles~ (ice cr?m), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:42 (fifteen years ago)

xp by the same token harris is getting numbers on a shitty team--his shooting % this year blow tbqfh

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:43 (fifteen years ago)

ehh harris averaged 21 and 7 last year when the nets still had vince - and steph curry isn't putting up #s on a shitty team??

ain't no thang but a chicken ㅋ (dyao), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:44 (fifteen years ago)

harris had a bunch of injuries this year, hes dece overall but no nba superstar

~cankles~ (ice cr?m), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:45 (fifteen years ago)

devin harris and stephen curry are not comparable

hipster puddy (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:46 (fifteen years ago)

i'm not talking about steph curry! not sure i by your nets turnaround scenario either--maybe a coach can get them to play some defense but i'm not putting money on it.

*buy. i hate that typo

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 31 March 2010 03:47 (fifteen years ago)

the nets as they stand atm could maybe be a mid-tier east team by 2011 or 2012 but that's about it

The only numbers that are inflated for Steph are his rebound numbers and points. His percentages would be his percentages no matter what.

... or maybe they'd be higher since he doesn't drive much and mostly stays on the perimeter and lets Maggette and Ellis penetrate.

according to j hollinger and other stat nerdz high turnover numbers in a rookie season when the other stas are good are actually predictive of greater success than having low turnovers - can kinda see it from an ambition/potential angle
