Troy Murphy, Mike Dunleavy, Ike Diogu and Keith McLeod to the Indiana Pacers for Al Harrington, Stephen Jackson, Sarunas Jasikevicius and Josh Powell! That's kinda awesome! I love this deal for the Warriors.

That leaves them really with only one bad contract in Foyle's.

polyphonic (polyphonic), Wednesday, 17 January 2007 18:50 (eighteen years ago)

If S-Jax can stay sane (big if), the Warriors just pulled off a heist.

Jeff Reguil0n (Talent Explosion), Wednesday, 17 January 2007 19:03 (eighteen years ago)

Seriously, are the Pacers bonered out for Diogu or something? Are they just fed up with Jackson? I don't understand how this makes sense for them.

Jeff Reguil0n (Talent Explosion), Wednesday, 17 January 2007 19:04 (eighteen years ago)

uh ... cap room?

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 17 January 2007 19:12 (eighteen years ago)

I do not get NBA trades at all.

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 17 January 2007 19:17 (eighteen years ago)

uh ... cap room?

Have you seen Murphy/Dunleavy's contracts?

polyphonic (polyphonic), Wednesday, 17 January 2007 19:23 (eighteen years ago)

See my previous post.

How many years/$$ does Jackson's contract have left?

c('°c) (Leee), Wednesday, 17 January 2007 20:32 (eighteen years ago)

Jackson has 4 years at about $6MM a piece. It's a fairly long deal, but if you can keep him productive and out of jail, that's a bargain.

Jeff Reguil0n (Talent Explosion), Wednesday, 17 January 2007 20:40 (eighteen years ago)

Here's the salaries and years.

polyphonic (polyphonic), Wednesday, 17 January 2007 20:41 (eighteen years ago)

That's not a bad contract by any means. Even if he headcases his way out of Oakland, some team down the road will be willing to trade for his upside/intensity.

John Hollinger thinks that the trade is way in favor of the Pacers, mostly because of Diogu. I haven't been too impressed by Diogu, but I also am not that impressed by Hollinger.

polyphonic (polyphonic), Wednesday, 17 January 2007 21:18 (eighteen years ago)

i think he's got a point. no guarantee he pans out, but other than diogu this trade is only noteworthy for its volume of mediocrity.

Troy Murphy, Mike Dunleavy, Al Harrington, Stephen Jackson, Sarunas Jasikevicius!!! that's a whole lota meh!

jhoshea (scoopsnoodle), Thursday, 18 January 2007 02:53 (eighteen years ago)

i think harrington will be something with donnie. and even if it's a contract dump, i dig it for the warriors. they have been fucked in that record: more tlc less tmc!

The Warriors do appear to have gotten the better end on a purely talent level, but Jackson is a cancer. of the anus.

I wanted to go see a Warriors game, but it was a lot more expensive than I thought it was going to be.

Dominique (dleone), Friday, 19 January 2007 15:56 (eighteen years ago)

Warriors might not be done! Rumors are Barnes+ for Nazr Mohammed.

Check out stubhub, sometimes you can find tickets that are pretty discounted.

esp if you look near the day of the game. I got center court floor seats for the bulls for $150, which is lower than the face value.

Chesty Joe Morgan (Chesty Joe Morgan), Saturday, 20 January 2007 00:14 (eighteen years ago)

my friend who is a warriors fan is crestfallen at this news. he was Mike Dunleavy's no. 1 (as in only) fan.

SEACREST OUT OF IRAQ! (Adrian Langston), Saturday, 20 January 2007 03:10 (eighteen years ago)

I'm a Mike Dunleavy fan!

Jeff. (Jeff), Saturday, 20 January 2007 19:48 (eighteen years ago)

I love Mike Dunleavy on the radio (he was a pretty regular guest on bay area sports talk), but somehow when I see him in a game I just hate him, probably entirely based on how his face looks. He has this slack jawed yokel-ness that irritates me.

polyphonic (polyphonic), Saturday, 20 January 2007 20:09 (eighteen years ago)

I saw a guy wearing a Dunleavy jersey awhile back, and I can't remember a time when I was more perplexed. (i live near chicago).

Chesty Joe Morgan (Chesty Joe Morgan), Saturday, 20 January 2007 21:17 (eighteen years ago)

a few years ago my dad and i were in the bay area for a family thingy, it was yao ming's rookie year and we were both interested in seeing the freak. so we took ourselves down to whatever that place the warriors play is called and scalped some sweet seats for wicked cheap. anyway mike dunleavy's parents were sitting a couple rows behind us and THEY ARE THE FUCKING WEIRDEST LOOKING COUPLE I HAVE EVERY SEEN!!! really it's hard to explain how alien they were in person - his mom's head looks like a bean or a can, it's almost perfectly cylindrical and long; and his dad, everyone's seen him on tv but in person he was so bizarre, he's got this huge tweaked out sloping pumpkin on top of a crazy stretched out body and his hair is pushing some esoteric agenda of its own. and dunleavy jr is a perfect combo of the two - scary.

jhoshea (scoopsnoodle), Sunday, 21 January 2007 16:53 (eighteen years ago)

When I was in high school and Dunleavy coached the Blazers his wife called the cops on some party I was at and Dunleavy Jr. came running out to tell us all we were "jerks" for being "so loud". It was a Saturday night at like 10pm and it was not very loud at all.
