ice cr?m, Wednesday, 11 August 2010 02:13 (fifteen years ago)

yes doing this, keep in mind dudes that THERE IS NO FUTURE ONLY NOW (ie lockout 2011) the celtics do not care at all about the regular season and will only frustrate and depress you

bowtie is a nice touch for press conference attire.

this year will be fantastic.

Shaq is all smiles because he will earn a few more million dollars for doing little odd jobs here and there. Doc looks grimly serious because Shaq has just executed a cannonball into Doc's swimming pool and now only half the water is left in the pool.

Aimless, Wednesday, 11 August 2010 17:45 (fifteen years ago)

jordan u forgot one crucial point that i dont have to watch rasheed power-walk from 3 pt line to 3 pt line thus the regular season will be less depressing. i know what to expect from fat shaq and he is really fourth/fifth big man on the depth chart and at a min salary and somehow that's less depressing

for real though i think cs will be energized by the finals run and ready for vengeance. injuries were big last year too

clincher is that league pass also means i can watch okc all the time if all else fails

enjoy your day (agent hibachi), Wednesday, 11 August 2010 17:52 (fifteen years ago)

this i don't believe. i think o'neal is desperately concerned with going out on a super high note -- preferably by beating bryant in the finals. he could have signed for more money elsewhere. not that i think he's likely to put boston over-the-top at this stage of his career, but whatevs.

shaq to solidify celtics:

BOSTON — NBA analyst David Aldridge said Wednesday that with the addition of Shaquille O'Neal, the Celtics have vastly improved their chances of leading the league in three-second lane violations for the 2010–2011 season. "Not only does Shaq's presence in the paint give his team more opportunities to turn the ball over, but the Celtics have also added an experienced big man who makes an already old team significantly older," said Aldridge, adding that O'Neal should fill a key role in terms of drastically slowing down the Celtics' offense. "Danny Ainge was looking for someone with size who can't make it down to the other end of the court, and he went out and got the best in the business." Aldridge added that while O'Neal isn't the dominant force he once was, he believes Shaq still has a thing or two to teach teams who think it's a good idea to sign him.

Daniel, Esq., Saturday, 14 August 2010 17:14 (fifteen years ago)

He may not entirely solidify the C's, but he can add a lot of viscosity.

Aimless, Saturday, 14 August 2010 18:49 (fifteen years ago)

hahahahaaha guys i just realized, shaq is really fat!

Ruffalo buffalo Ruffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Ruffalo buffalo (m bison), Saturday, 14 August 2010 22:22 (fifteen years ago)

three weeks pass...

on paper and based on my faded memories of his great prime years, boston signing shaq sounds like a very good move. then, you read stuff like this:

SamAmicoNBA Shaq on Mo: "Guys who couldn't even play were worried about shots. Why was Mo (Williams) taking 15 shots, and I'm only taking four?"

if o'neal is complaining about his shots on a 66-win team featuring lebron james, i'm not convinced he'll all of a sudden be a good team player in boston. i imagine if he could work well anywhere, it would be there, given the quality character guys leading the team, but still . . .

Daniel, Esq., Monday, 6 September 2010 13:33 (fifteen years ago)

I will trade you two of valanciunas, daron holmes, and zeke nnaji for pritchard and something else after this season

comrade jhøsh (k3vin k.), Wednesday, 15 October 2025 00:33 (two weeks ago)

wouldve been nice if the celtics figured out the salt and naps cure but glad hes feeling better

“It hit me, and it hit me like a truck,” Porziņģis said. “The breathing wasn’t good. I did everything I could potentially to feel as good as I could, but my engine wasn’t running the way I wanted.”

He scored only 25 total points during a six-game Eastern Conference semifinals loss after averaging more than 19 during the regular season.

Doctors later diagnosed him with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, he said, more commonly referred to as POTS, an autonomic condition that can dramatically increase a patient’s heart rate when standing up instead of spread horizontal. Handled wrong — or not yet diagnosed — and POTS can lead to extreme exhaustion or dizziness.

Post-diagnosis, Porziņģis and his doctors know how to manage POTS — and it’s without the need for any special medication. A high-salt diet and a more regimented non-basketball resting schedule is a must.

He played with the Latvian national team during Eurobasket this summer without issue. He’s likely to start for Atlanta, displacing the former first-string center, Onyeka Okongwu, a 24-year-old up-and-comer who played his best ball ever to close last season.
