That shit sucks. I guess I can't be an Artest apologist anymore. Take care of your dogs, asshole!

Supposedly, he was out of town (well, that's not supposed) and had someone else taking care of them. Another dog ate all of the Dane's food, and although some family members were staying at his place, none noticed this. So, not completely indefensible, by any means. This is why I'm not a fan of 20 line blurb news reports.

If true, it's completely indefensible for anyone (much less a millionaire) to leave dogs with food sitting out for an extended period of time and no specific caretaker in charge of them.

defensible, haters.

ha! my first ever drunk post to ILH. anyway he left someone in charge of feeding his dogs and they did a piss poor job - not noticing that the other dog was eating all the food. he just gave the wrong person responsibility - hardly a capital offense.

three weeks pass...
from a longer article on his new domestic violence charge:

In early February, it was revealed that Artest paid $1,942 in boarding and impound fees because some of his dogs had spent a total of 77 nights at the Placer County pound since July. Animal control officers had gone to Artest's five-acre estate seven times in that period in response to callers' complaints about dogs being loose or not being fed.
