as bad as kahn was, if i'm a t-wolves fan i'd rather him than FLIP SAUNDERS WTF

J0rdan S., Friday, 26 April 2013 16:19 (twelve years ago)

I dunno Jordan, I don't know much about Saunders but Kahn really got some pretty astonishing stuff wrong - like I can't see any other GM botching the Love contract that way for example?

Gravel Puzzleworth, Friday, 26 April 2013 16:32 (twelve years ago)

nothing kahn did was as bad as minny losing three first round picks and $3.5m dollars over joe smith

J0rdan S., Friday, 26 April 2013 16:35 (twelve years ago)

flip saunders will be in his 60s midway through this deal and hasn't served in an nba front office in a decade, can't think of a better recipe for success

nothing kahn did was as bad as minny losing three first round picks and $3.5m dollars over joe smith

Saunders had nothing to do with this.

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 26 April 2013 18:31 (twelve years ago)

yeah was gonna say

ums (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Friday, 26 April 2013 19:22 (twelve years ago)

wasn't he in the front office at the time? he had to have been involved in some way

J0rdan S., Friday, 26 April 2013 19:23 (twelve years ago)

saunders is another one of those looks like an alcoholic golf pro types

lag∞n, Friday, 26 April 2013 19:25 (twelve years ago)

anyway the joe smith thing is besides the point

the point is that flip saunders will be a plainly terrible GM, there's no point in firing kahn if this your next move

J0rdan S., Friday, 26 April 2013 19:25 (twelve years ago)

i never see the logic in hiring a coach to a front office spot cause there doesnt seem to be that much overlap in the required skills but on the other hand that means that just cause hes a shitty coach doesnt mean hell be a bad gm, of course going ahead and hiring someone who has experience being a good gm would make the most sense

lag∞n, Friday, 26 April 2013 19:28 (twelve years ago)

well i mean he was a good coach at some point, but that's not even the issue

he's about to be 60 and has limited front office experience, he's probably not even in the top 50 of most qualified available candidates for an nba gm job

J0rdan S., Friday, 26 April 2013 19:30 (twelve years ago)

wasn't he in the front office at the time? he had to have been involved in some way

The deal was hatched between McHale, Glen Taylor and Smith's agent at Taylor's hospital bed as he was about to undergo open-heart surgery.

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 26 April 2013 19:37 (twelve years ago)

haha amazing, long live twolves

lag∞n, Friday, 26 April 2013 19:39 (twelve years ago)

he was on our local sports talk today, when asked what his future plans were Kahn replied:

"Well Dan I have two episodes of Mad Men on my DVR, so I'm going to watch Mad Men and have a glass of wine"

jay-z's ansari (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Friday, 3 May 2013 01:34 (twelve years ago)

c'mon kahn, mad men is one glass of wine per episode minimum.
