i think he's gonna one of the best guys from this draft within a year or two but that sg/sf rotation in sacramento looks like a car crash to me unless they make a trade or he emerges immediately

I voted Miami for the chip, but if Wade's body is as shot as his first couple of games hint, then the door is pretty wide open. As for filling out 2014 playoff brackets, I am stumped, so I will play the coward's part and abstain. Too much upheaval on rosters this year. Picking the crappiest teams seems much simpler this time around. Philly. Toronto. Phoenix. Kings. Charlotte. LAL.

betting against wades health is like half of what informed my bulls pick, the other half is its no fun to pick the heat

I follow the blazers mostly, so I'll venture an opinion there. If their starters stay healthy, then a 45-37 season, just barely squeezing into the last seed in the WC. If any of their starters has to sit for more than 3 or 4 games, they'll slip further down and miss the playoffs entirely.

btw, it seems like the eastern conference has finally leveled up, with more young rising stars and the western conference has slipped down. East could post a winning record against western conference teams this year.

Western team's front offices seem to be streets ahead of most east teams. Cleveland will be better than trash, tho.

feel REALLY good about the cp3 pick btw, if the clips end up with the #1 seed and paul plays half as well as he's playing now, i don't see how anyone else could win it

west is a bit of a cypher this year, like could the warriors win it, yeah sure why not

(bron may still be the best player but i just don't see the guy winning 5 MVPs in 6 years)

i think people are underrating OKC cuz they flamed out without westbrook the last time anyone was paying attention to them

also i think presti isn't gonna sit pat with this team and will make a real move at some point

but mostly i'm betting on two of the 10 best players in the nba, might be too early for them though

i feel pretty confident in someone taking down the heat this year, but that's about it

i mostly know nothing though... i feel like any of the top 6 teams could come out of the west

i'm also confident in portland making the playoffs and denver falling out, but i've made those points before

yeah i mean the heat probably have as good a shot as anyone but this year there's like 8 or 9 real-deal contenders, the chances just aren't great. but then again if wade can somehow not fall apart in the playoffs again they're gonna be the faves

one thing that's gonna kill the heat this year imo is punting the draft since the beginning of the big 3 and filling the roster out with super old vets and not taking a flyer on developing a young 3 and D guy

ya h8 divisions and conferences so dumb, w that extra team in the top four the seeding usually works out right especially since the team w best record gets home court regardless so like if the 4/5 are flip flopped it doesn't matter

the problem w conferences is imho that half the time you have the two best teams playing in the conference championship instead of the finals

yeah its a bad idea in those sports too

there's no real reason for sports to have conferences but i do feel like leagues need some sort of organizational structure

but like in the nba, even diehard fans have no idea which team is in which division

that's totally different than the nfl or mlb
