nets schedule for reference http://espn.go.com/nba/team/schedule/_/name/bkn/brooklyn-nets

le goon (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:16 (eleven years ago)

I said jan 1st on instinct, figuring the b/w Xmas and New Years dead zone would be the least embarrassing time to dump him.

Clay, Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:33 (eleven years ago)

also my mom texted me tonight saying "did you see this jason Kidd drink-spilling thing? How long until he is fired?" so I've invited her to join ilh.

Clay, Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:38 (eleven years ago)

i think it happens within the next week or they let it ride out for a min... i'll say before jan 15

le goon (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:42 (eleven years ago)

if you put a gun to my head actually i think they let him see a healthy team and ride it out a bit, so maybe in march as a last gasp for the playoffs

i don't see anyway they make it to the ASB at .500 tho

le goon (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 28 November 2013 07:42 (eleven years ago)

lol @ clay's mom

fired after nets lose in the playoffs is my vote

Nhex, Thursday, 28 November 2013 08:57 (eleven years ago)

voted before december 1, the drink-spilling thing is just such an obvious sign of incompetence

Clay, Thursday, 28 November 2013 22:16 (eleven years ago)

On February 15, 2007 Joumana Kidd filed a counterclaim for divorce, claiming that the NBA star—among countless instances of abuse—"broke her rib and damaged her hearing by smashing her head into the console of a car"

Clay, Thursday, 28 November 2013 22:17 (eleven years ago)

new poll: when does allah kill jason kidd

to BRR! is humane (m bison), Friday, 29 November 2013 00:39 (eleven years ago)

Yeah I associate Kidd with domestic abuse first in my head unfortunaely

乒乓, Friday, 29 November 2013 00:46 (eleven years ago)

More specifically, the french fry incident from... 2001

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketball/nba/news/2001/01/19/kidd_apology_ap/

He has a history

乒乓, Friday, 29 November 2013 00:47 (eleven years ago)

TBH first thing I think of when I think of Kidd is that he's the best PG that I've seen this side of faded memories of Magic, second thing is domestic abuse.

Matt Groening's Cousin (Leee), Friday, 29 November 2013 00:55 (eleven years ago)

plus the DUI now, fuck him imo

k3vin k., Friday, 29 November 2013 03:03 (eleven years ago)

$50k fine for the soda shenanigans btw

Clay, Friday, 29 November 2013 03:12 (eleven years ago)

has he made a statement?

k3vin k., Friday, 29 November 2013 03:30 (eleven years ago)

last night after the game: Devin Kharpertian asked Kidd after the game about the incident, and Kidd said the "cup slipped out of my hand as I was getting (Tyshawn) substituted." He went on, "Sweaty palms, I was never good with the ball."

kinda doubt the organization would let him say much more than that.

funny you should say that, because they're now rivals for worst coach ever

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 29 November 2013 03:39 (eleven years ago)

Voted 'before Jan 1' before I even read the thread, so as not to prejudice the purity of my opinion.

Aimless, Friday, 29 November 2013 19:21 (eleven years ago)

and this thread was made before the soda incident, right? ha!

Nhex, Friday, 29 November 2013 20:20 (eleven years ago)

Poll was made a few hours after the drink spill incident, but the whiff of brimstone was in the air a week ago, so you could have been right.

Aimless, Friday, 29 November 2013 20:43 (eleven years ago)

kidd always getting caught at stuff, not smooth, not leadership matierial

kind of curious whether frank would become head coach, or if he's too implicated in the current suckage for that to work.

woohoo I win the vote! sort of, since he didn't actually get fired

Nhex, Monday, 30 June 2014 16:41 (ten years ago)

why would anyone give up anything to get kidd? this league sometimes

Strictly EZ Snappin' Nhex (Spottie), Monday, 30 June 2014 16:43 (ten years ago)

i'm more or less counting this as a firing

le goon (J0rdan S.), Monday, 30 June 2014 16:44 (ten years ago)

I just can't believe they turned that into ASSETS

Strictly EZ Snappin' Nhex (Spottie), Monday, 30 June 2014 16:48 (ten years ago)

i know, it's mindblowing. he wanted to leave!

Nhex, Monday, 30 June 2014 16:49 (ten years ago)

i can't believe the Bucks gave up picks for him

Maggie killed Quagmire (collest baby ever) (frogbs), Monday, 30 June 2014 16:58 (ten years ago)

if he turns out to be a good coach those second round picks won't matter much and if he turns out to be a bad coach not having two second round picks will be the last of milwaukee's problems

le goon (J0rdan S.), Monday, 30 June 2014 17:00 (ten years ago)

he wanted to leave the nets should be throwing in picks if anything

Strictly EZ Snappin' Nhex (Spottie), Monday, 30 June 2014 17:01 (ten years ago)

but since the nets "have" him they're the ones w/ leverage

le goon (J0rdan S.), Monday, 30 June 2014 17:02 (ten years ago)

i guess

Strictly EZ Snappin' Nhex (Spottie), Monday, 30 June 2014 17:02 (ten years ago)

the second rounder next year is a pretty decent asset but the 2019 pick might as well be nothing

le goon (J0rdan S.), Monday, 30 June 2014 17:04 (ten years ago)

wonder if kidds ass is burning over that 1st rounder the clips gave up for doc

lag∞n, Monday, 30 June 2014 21:44 (ten years ago)

well tbf tho a clips first rounder is like 5 spots above a bucks second rounder in the coming years

Clay, Monday, 30 June 2014 21:45 (ten years ago)

The NBA expects nine teams will end up having lost money once luxury-tax distribution and revenue-sharing payments are finalized. The Nets, with that monster $144 million figure, are the biggest losers. Next in line? The Wizards, with projected losses of about $13 million.

geez

polyphonic, Monday, 30 June 2014 22:56 (ten years ago)

wonder if the russian dude is having second thoughts

Strictly EZ Snappin' Nhex (Spottie), Monday, 30 June 2014 23:05 (ten years ago)

The coach (Drew) also pointed out that this is one of the perils of hiring a coach with no experience — he has no sense of paying dues, no sense of how hard some coaches, like Drew, have worked to get where they are. Kidd is acting like a spoiled brat, perhaps because he never had to earn anything in the coaching business.

Still, the Bucks’ ownership has gone down this road. They’re trying to work out compensation for Kidd. Suffice it to say that, should Kidd wind up with the Bucks’ job, it will likely be his last.

“I don’t think anyone is going to just forget what he just did to Larry Drew,” the coach said. “You expect the unexpected in this line of work, but that is a lot of back-stabbing.”

Lots of butthurt happening here. Rightfully so I guess

Dreamland, Monday, 30 June 2014 23:13 (ten years ago)

The coach (Drew)

It wasn't Drew who pointed it out, just to clarify.

polyphonic, Monday, 30 June 2014 23:44 (ten years ago)

so is mark jackson the nets' coach yet

Jason Kidd and the Bucks are working out a three year contract estimated to be in the $12-$15 million range.
It was reported that Kidd did not like the big contracts that Derek Fisher and Steve Kerr signed, so if his main motive was more money, mission accomplished. Kidd has elected to leave a playoff team where money wasn't an issue, to join the team that had an even worse record than the 76ers last season.

smh

lag∞n, Tuesday, 1 July 2014 08:45 (ten years ago)

saddest thing about all this is seeing the poor bucks get snookered because of Kidd's petty professional jealousy.

Clay, Tuesday, 1 July 2014 09:17 (ten years ago)

Nah, this is the Bucks getting snookered because of the Bucks

tsrobodo, Tuesday, 1 July 2014 09:25 (ten years ago)
