If the Nets lose this game at home, Kidd is done, right?

Spottie, Monday, 2 December 2013 03:31 (eleven years ago)

of all the weeknights to have something to do

call all destroyer, Monday, 2 December 2013 03:31 (eleven years ago)

ah damn just noticed this closes the day before they play. well whatever.

Spottie, Monday, 2 December 2013 03:50 (eleven years ago)

gotta believe the grizz win bought kidd a few more games at least

le goon (J0rdan S.), Monday, 2 December 2013 03:51 (eleven years ago)

maybe, but also gotta believe they have to win that game at home. imagine the boos that will rain down

Spottie, Monday, 2 December 2013 03:51 (eleven years ago)

i would say the nets have been worse... i think most people realized the knicks were a house of cards anyway

people (including me!) looked at the nets roster and thought they had a real shot at the finals

le goon (J0rdan S.), Monday, 2 December 2013 03:52 (eleven years ago)

i think they were a consensus ilh top 2 or 3 east team

Clay, Monday, 2 December 2013 03:57 (eleven years ago)

just jumping into the predictions thread, j0rdan had the nets in the finals, k3v had them in the eastern finals.

Spottie, Monday, 2 December 2013 04:26 (eleven years ago)

both teams decimated by injuries, but nets theoretically were contenders while the knicks realistic ceiling was distant 5th in the east, so yeah this has gotta be BKN

k3vin k., Monday, 2 December 2013 04:27 (eleven years ago)

Nets on paper, I never would've imagined would be this bad. Knicks so different from last year I knew they'd never be as good, just surprised they're this much worse

buzza, Monday, 2 December 2013 07:00 (eleven years ago)

it's pretty shocking that Pierce and Garnett both crashed right out of the gate. Reminds me of how CWebb looked pretty good right up until that trade to the Sixers.

Webber post-Kings was depressing

Spottie, Monday, 2 December 2013 15:51 (eleven years ago)

nets certainly more disappointing but by definition of "pitiful" i think i'd go knicks

call all destroyer, Monday, 2 December 2013 16:00 (eleven years ago)

Spottie, don't worry about buzza, that's his 'shtick'

乒乓, Monday, 2 December 2013 16:05 (eleven years ago)

the nets are more pitiful imho kidd having no idea what hes doing really puts them over the edge, the knicks are just bad which is their natural state

lag∞n, Monday, 2 December 2013 16:06 (eleven years ago)

I'd make the case for the knicks in that yeah the nets fell from a greater height theoretically but we also all knew it could be bad w/r/t the team being cobbled together from aging and worn out parts, with a head coach who had literally never spent a minute in any coaching capacity prior to starting. Gut feeling is that super-teams fail more often than succeed. So it's at least a little bit excusable

Knicks otoh, Smithgate has been awesome, and they're trolling their fans especially hard by pulling out the #2 spot in the East last year and then falling to dead last this year

乒乓, Monday, 2 December 2013 16:08 (eleven years ago)

p funny the knicks were so successful w smallball then they totally reorganized their team to match up against indy and miami as if they were ever gonna beat them

lag∞n, Monday, 2 December 2013 16:11 (eleven years ago)

Knicks are sadder but it's less surprising somehow. I couldn't have seen the Chandler injury coming, and that's apparently making a HUGE difference, but otherwise it just never felt to me like they pieces they had were going to make a very good team.

Yeah the Bernani trade pushes the Knicks over the edge for me

yeah, the knicks really have very little defense without Chandler, it's sad. and when he comes back they'll probably overplay him again

Nhex, Monday, 2 December 2013 16:53 (eleven years ago)

I save my pity for those who deserve it, such as Mets fans.

Aimless, Tuesday, 3 December 2013 01:34 (eleven years ago)

hey, the Mets got a championship more recently than the Knicks!

Nhex, Tuesday, 3 December 2013 02:08 (eleven years ago)

knicks are def more pitiful than the mets especially considering their place in the hearts of new yorkers

On the whole I'd give the Nets a better chance of pulling out of their slump than the Knicks.

lag∞n, Thursday, 5 December 2013 00:03 (eleven years ago)

trade idea: enter into any trade with the Knicks. You will invariably come out ahead.
