This is the greatest day. I was honored to have season tickets to the Vikings all through the Moss era so I know how special he is, how electrifying.

I would honestly pay just to have him on the team even if he didn't play.

I know ppl hate the Vikes now because of Favre and I can't blame you, we sacrificed some measure of who we were in a vain attempt for a Superbowl...but this feels right in a lot of ways, Randy's coming home to us, where he belongs.

glad 4 u dude.

this is a sensible football decision for the pats afaict but as a fan, i feel sad that i'm not going to get to root for this guy anymore.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 6 October 2010 15:10 (fourteen years ago) link

yeah i understand why they had to do it, when things go sour with randy they def go sour

i think this is a great move for the vikings, we've mortgaged the house for this seasons, so fuck it, go all in...

makes me worry that sidney rice is waaaay worse than they said and is not coming back this year at all though.

50.bison (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Wednesday, 6 October 2010 15:11 (fourteen years ago) link

this is how I feel about this decision:

i maintain that moss for the rest of the season is worth way more to the pats with their current stockpile than a 3rd round pick. unless the rumors of a blowout with belichick are true and then some, this is bullshit however you evaluate it imo.

vikes are so loaded when rice comes back.

MAX NOT FOR MOD (Roberto Spiralli), Wednesday, 6 October 2010 15:14 (fourteen years ago) link

boston football fap now primed for pats offense to score 3 pts and randy to break 2900 yards with multiple tds for mn.

one thing i have learned during his time with ne is that, if he is actually trying out there, randy can make a questionable pass look like an amazing throw. favre has been throwing nothing but questionable passes so far this year, so this move really could be the making of his glorious last hurrah.

MAX NOT FOR MOD (Roberto Spiralli), Wednesday, 6 October 2010 15:29 (fourteen years ago) link

otm. If it's anywhere *near* him and he wants to catch it, it's his.

I don't really have any stock in the Pats, but I'm sad for Daria, I know how much it sucks when a fave player scoots to another team mid-season. I don't love the Vikes, honestly I just dislike Favre more than anything. So I guess I'm just happy going along for the ramblin' Randy ride. lol.

This fuckin guy.

lol--so michael felger, the preeminent randy moss critic of our time, is currently guaranteeing that the pats make it to the afc championship game.

as astonishingly great as Moss is, I don't think this is gonna stop the Pats from making the playoffs and then all bets are kinda off

i don't see why it will slow them down much at all. moss is astonishingly great, but he's been a decoy this year. i guess it depends on how crucial a decoy you think he was.

Daniel, Esq., Thursday, 7 October 2010 03:08 (fourteen years ago) link

i don't think he was a decoy by design

Well one thing that the NFL has is characters and Moss and Favre teaming up is like a buddy cop movie of the week in making.

Favre's cut line in every scene.

"I'm getting too old for this shit."

Seriously, Christmas in October. The Vikings will no doubt go down in flames as usual, but this just feels right.

I had a similar reaction to the Pavement reunion.

I'm going to the homecoming debut against Dallas. I bet they introduce the offense.

already cooking up plans for watching mondays game in a bar that has enough tequila to drown all the sorrows of the world once awesome homecoming turns into favre pulling some more of his punt on third down shenanigans

fortunately they will be punting into the arms of Randy Moss, who will then run into the end zone

most of these 60y bombs he is nonchalantly catching at his waist, it is something else

ya he was very good at catching balls like nbd while running insanely fast

SO DOPE

it's like the ball is already his before it's left the qb's hands, no matter where he is, who's around him... he is just total magic

and some of those moves in double coverage

ugh

hbd randy
