You guys, I've been watching Alabama football since I was a wee lad. This is the best team they've ever fielded in my lifetime.

the problem is that i think ohio state can beat them

it's just really hard to repeat as nat'l champs -- as good as this alabama team looks, they're at best just as good as the 02 miami team & the 05 usc team -- they're probably better than last year's UF team

The only OSU game I've seen this year was the one against Miami, and the Canes had as much to do with the Buckeyes win as the Buckeyes did. I'll have to see more.

the thing about ohio state is that their offense can get really anemic at times (see: today) & pryor is.... inconsistent, at best, as a passer, but they don't make mistakes, are solid & big on defense, can run the ball & pryor extends soooo many drives with his legs

ohio st would certainly be an underdog, and maybe a sizeable one even if they won out, but my point is that it's really, really tough to repeat and ohio st could beat bama probably 4 out of 10 times, and they may catch one of those four

i can't decide whether i'm more depressed by alabama or osu being as good as they are.

i actually find this alabama team to be incredibly likeable & the whole miami-bama is before my time so that doesn't weigh on me -- as for saban, the dolphins turned out just fine, not to mention that i've never seen a more hilariously jilted fanbase than the dolphins immediately post-dolphins, which drove me towards saban for some reason

as for ohio state, they've never been likeable -- pryor is swagged out but that team is thoroughly uninspiring
