i think ohio st - boise would be a fun national title -- better than boise - nebraska or something

I liked the end where you're like "why are they using a fire extinguisher on him? ... oh, because he is also on fire."

yeah I had to miss it and in retrospect...thank god. just got home lol ohio state.
― iatee, Sunday, 17 October 2010 01:37 (fourteen years ago) link
boise state probably the safest bet for making the champ game now? undefeated oklahoma and oregon and I think they might not make it, but other than that?
― iatee, Sunday, 17 October 2010 01:52 (fourteen years ago) link
not that a win over nevada is a given
― iatee, Sunday, 17 October 2010 01:53 (fourteen years ago) link
i would bet a lot of thing on boise making the title
― truly blunted rhyme fiend (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 17 October 2010 01:54 (fourteen years ago) link
i would also take oklahoma over oregon, but we'll see
― truly blunted rhyme fiend (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 17 October 2010 01:55 (fourteen years ago) link
This Ohio State game is fixed. I guarantee it.
― Mr. Snrub, Sunday, 17 October 2010 02:07 (fourteen years ago) link
fixed by ohio state's sucking
― iatee, Sunday, 17 October 2010 02:14 (fourteen years ago) link
I knew last week the Buckeyes would lose. Why? Because it was a must-win. They never win must-wins.
But also, yeah...they suck.
― Johnny Fever, Sunday, 17 October 2010 02:16 (fourteen years ago) link
lol @ Gators dropping three straight. Someone said they haven't done that since 1988.
i think it's hilarious that everyone is calling for steve addazio's head... which, granted, fair enough, but it's urban meyer's offense. he's not a defensive guy. he's not calling the plays, but he's overseeing that shit. he is very much to blame for this fiasco.
― truly blunted rhyme fiend (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 17 October 2010 02:19 (fourteen years ago) link
well it'd be hard to be a florida fan who called for urban meyer's head
― iatee, Sunday, 17 October 2010 02:34 (fourteen years ago) link
people need someone to blame but among fans he's still got the nat'l champ godlike aura for...a few years
― iatee, Sunday, 17 October 2010 02:35 (fourteen years ago) link
Chris Leak had a great team around him (including stunt plays with freshman Tebow), but all of Urban's success after that has been tied to Tebow. Now he doesn't have anything, and he's obviously struggling to make anything work.
― Johnny Fever, Sunday, 17 October 2010 02:45 (fourteen years ago) link
yeah
they have a kid coming in next year named jeff driskel that is decidedly more tebow-esque but...

I thought about this happening but didn't look at the actual math. sucks.
― iatee, Monday, 18 October 2010 02:15 (fourteen years ago) link
tho in its own way could help doom the bcs if a 1 loss team gets in
― iatee, Monday, 18 October 2010 02:17 (fourteen years ago) link
I occasionally listen to the local Lexington sports show, which is hard to do as all they ever talk about is UK basketball or horse racing, but every caller was believing they were going to beat South Carolina. By odds, this seemed nuts to me, as the 'old ball coach' was like 17-0 against them and they hadn't beat South Carolina in a near decade. Hard to believe UK actually won.
UK have a good offense...defense is not so much.
I think Randall Cobb could be a playmaker in the pros.
― earlnash, Monday, 18 October 2010 02:18 (fourteen years ago) link
Urban Meyer is a good coach, but there is also a heck of a lot of hype. Like Roy Williams when he went into NC on basketball, he really benefited and won pretty much on a cupboard already stocked with good players. Those dudes got quick success pretty much on the recruits of guys that got run out on a rail. They have kept it going, but Meyer was overdue for a down season
― earlnash, Monday, 18 October 2010 02:23 (fourteen years ago) link
here is a way in which the BCS would be actively dismantled in short order by the conference commissioners: if boise st makes the nat'l title over an undefeated big 10 or SEC team -- this year we're looking at michigan st & auburn/lsu -- and then wins the nat'l title, then they'll probably bring the house down
― truly blunted rhyme fiend (J0rdan S.), Monday, 18 October 2010 02:31 (fourteen years ago) link
theres no way boise would finish above an undefeated sec team. i guess mich st maybe
― johnny crunch, Monday, 18 October 2010 03:05 (fourteen years ago) link
yeah, also auburn has already been locked out, and that didn't change anything
― truly blunted rhyme fiend (J0rdan S.), Monday, 18 October 2010 03:06 (fourteen years ago) link
I think part of it was that in the auburn year it appeared like there were two teams that were def the two best teams, and undefeated auburn wasn't one of them.
― iatee, Monday, 18 October 2010 03:18 (fourteen years ago) link
even tho, in retrospect, it prob was...
