I was really excited about the Capital One Bowl until I went and looked at ticket prices. As it stands, they're too pricy right now. I'll check StubHub again in about a week or two and see what's out there then.

Every SEC coach voted Auburn #1 this past week, even other coaches who formerly worked at and were fired by Auburn voted Auburn #1 this past week (including Tuberville). But who didn't? Urban Meyer.

I'd feel really bad for Mississippi State if Dan Mullen leaves after just two seasons to take the UF job (makes sense for him to at least receive and offer). Someone on ESPN just said Florida may go after Stoops. I think that would result in the state of Oklahoma declaring war on the state of Florida. GET A GUN!

stoops was DC there under spurrier and i think UF has tried to get him every single time that job has opened since then

If I'm Stoops, what's the upside? It's not like Oklahoma is a struggling program and, if anything, the competition in the Big 12 is probably easier.

Now, if I'm Jon Gruden, and the Miami job wasn't enough to sway me, the UF job would definitely get my attention.

there really is no reason for stoops to go to UF, which is why he's turned them down three separate times

i would be surprised if UF went after gruden -- dan mullen & charlie strong are two of the hottest coaching names & both have direct & immediate ties to the program -- if they want either of those guys, they'll get them

also petrino will leave arkansas in like one second to go there

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Harbaugh and Bielema receive phonecalls over the next couple days. Probably Malzahn too.

Some buzz around here that UF is going to approach Chris Petersen. This is just based on something the local sports guy said on the news, so it's not authoritative by any means, but it sounds good.

yeah most rumors i've read are saying that they're gonna make a formal offer to him if/when stoops turns them down again, but who knows if that's true

meanwhile the miami search is supposedly down to marc tressman, al golden and randy edsall, atltho there's been so much misinformation regarding the search that i'm not believing much of anything at this point

I really wanted him to go to Michigan, but they're being awfully slow at firing Rich Rodriguez. Surely they will, though...right? I mean, that dude is AWFUL.

one of the downsides about hiring him is that he really transformed what they look for in offensive players (big example being at QB) so you'd arguably have an even longer rebuilding project if they got rid of him

i think there are some ppl that think they could keep him on for one more year with a new DC & see what happens -- cuz their offense was still amazingly good

i think if he loses the bowl game tho that they might just cut the cord, esp if they get any indication that harbaugh will come

All I really had to mention is that he's fruit of the Saban coaching tree.

i get the sense that, rightly or wrongly, big time ADs making crucial hires are spooked by what happened to the last two boise coaches to jump to a big job

tbf, Koetter and Hawkins went to ASU and Colorado respectively. They were doomed from day one.

Yeah, it seemed like that was a smokescreen to throw people off Muschamp's scent.

True. BSU is always sniffing to top tier of the BCS, even if they always remain the bridesmaid. A couple more seasons like the last few, and he can virtually name his price at any school he chooses.
