If there can't be a playoff system, I say the only two conferences who automatically qualify for the BCS are the two whose teams played in the nat'l championship game the previous season. The remaining bowl slots are up for grabs.

TCU looked pretty good. That was a fun game.

You know they would just shut everyone up by having two of the classic bowls in rotation being the FINAL FOUR and then having the national championship game be the game in the off week before the Superbowl.

They can talk all kinds of smack on students and stuff, but criminy when people will leave fat paycheck NFL jobs to become a 'coordinator' at a college, the whole amateur status of your league really doesn't hold up to light.

I think a playoff is inevitable in the long-term - like I'd put money on there being at least an 8 team system in place in 2030. the actual politics of how that's gonna happen are murky, and there are some very strong vested interests, but the amount of money being left off the table w/ this stupid bowl system is eventually gonna be what moves the process
