there was just so many mistakes in that game -- cam straight blowing two touchdowns, darron thomas letting himself get eaten by nick fairley instead of handing of too lamichael -- chip kelly barely challenging auburn downfield even tho their DBs are all horrible

also weirdly there was like no dramatic play at all in that game except for maybe the fourth down that oregon got where the ref went all orlando pace on the auburn defender
yeah otm - despised this game for a multitude of reasons

TCU would've beat both of these teams

i remain convinced that alabama was the best team in the country
I'm gonna go w/ stanford

as fucked as this game ended up being, can we at least agree it was the most entertaining to watch since usc/texas?
― iatee, Tuesday, 11 January 2011 05:30 (thirteen years ago) link
tcu has to be #2 at a minimum
― Princess TamTam, Tuesday, 11 January 2011 05:30 (thirteen years ago) link
are you kidding
honestly, probably -- it was probably right even w/ ou-uf w/ games that nearly were great but just kinda were not
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 11 January 2011 05:32 (thirteen years ago) link
heh i was actually thinking 'this is the most infuriating game since ou-uf'

Michael Dyer is going to be trouble as a sophomore and junior. Iron Bowl with Richardson and Dyer rushing this November is gonna be fun to watch.

It occurred to me sometime in the 3rd quarter that, if Les Miles goes to Michigan (which seems likely now), LSU is going to get Gus Malzahn on the phone.

Is TCU gonna get shit on in the future because it plays in the big east and not a mighty conference like the big 12 or sec? probaby.

The BCS is about as legit as Don King Productions, maybe a bit less.
― earlnash, Wednesday, 12 January 2011 00:07 (thirteen years ago) link
Oh wait, those aren't the final standings. The list I saw accounted for Oregon's record as of last night, but the standings haven't been updated since December 5th.
However, if Oregon is still #2 after that happens, I say we storm the server room where the BCS brain is and burn it down.

yea hes really acting like a child tho hathaway clearly couldve managed it better (maybe he wanted to get himself fired as AD?)

"apparently he had a beef w/ pasqualoni when burton's son was at syracuse abt not making his son a captain"
goddamn, with leadership skills his father is showing, if burton junior inherited even a quarter of those, i cant believe he wasnt captain.
most teams i've played on (through college) had the team vote on captains. So if the team didnt want Junior as captain, and Senior wanted pasqualoni to veto the vote, that's even worse.
Go die, pal, or at least let me sign you up for a session with the Iowa strength and conditioning coach.

from the comments:
Did a Tide fan kill the oaks at Toomer's Corner?
Nice article. Did you get out your Li'l Detective Jr. Kit® and come up with this assumption?
How do you know it was not a Georgia fan? They too are a hated rival and were pretty upset after what they thought was a dirty game with the Tigers this past season. For that matter, how do you know it was not an Auburn fan trying to get Alabama in trouble in a lame attempt to take the focus off Auburn's troubles?

You guys, the state of Alabama isn't completely ass backwards. They can probably get him on vandalism/destruction of property as well as unlicensed used of controlled chemicals in the act of. Oh, and there will MOST DEFINITELY be punitive fines (and likely jail time) considering he'll be tried in the same county where the act occurred.
― Johnny Fever, Thursday, 17 February 2011 16:09 (thirteen years ago) link
I'm looking into alabama state law right now: apparently the trees were considered down by contact? but this happened after the play ended, it's a personal foul. also this was a fourth down, so he's gonna be executed.
