Colleague at work leans into my doorway this morning: "so... it turns out I'm neighbors with Aaron Hernandez". Me: "what?". She: "apparently he was renting one of the units at our complex. There was a black Hummer sitting in the parking lot, and they just towed it away".

They've probably gotten access to his credit card records and can track all his car rentals back for a few years and isolate VINs.

hahaha, the patriots are doing a hernandez jersey amnesty. bring your hernandez jersey in on july 6 or 7 and swap it for a player who is less likely to be a murderer. that is classic. really though, you gotta keep it. this would almost be on a par with when i returned my nirvana tour ticket for a refund :/

i am hugely averse to anything that perpetuates the assumed guilt/trial by media bullshit so it sucks how this went down, but it was totally in character for the organization and you don't know what else they knew about him. maybe the matt light thing points to something substantive, maybe it's a 30-something white midwesterner talking about a young hispanic dude. there is no great sense of shock emanating from the environs of gillette stadium tho. i've yet to hear anyone say "he was the last person you would expect to do something like this".

probably stems from when light asked aaron how his offseason went and he showed him execution-style murder pics.

Hernandez is acclimating well to jail and was moved Monday from the medical unit, where he's been closely watched since arriving, to a different unit.

in audio interview, they made it clear that the medical unit is private. SOP was probably to make sure he wasn't a suicide risk and do a psych eval and also to keep him out of gen pop until they were able to acclimate prison staff to understand how to deal with having a celebrity inmate. Don't think he has any medical issues.

/not a prison nerd but i have family who work in psych units and AH fits the profile

idgi, was this dude creating sock accounts to drive the price up? cos if not, every auction gives the seller the option to sell to the second (or third, or fourth, all the way down the line) highest bidder...so um, not a very effective bit of trolling. And no matter what you set your max bid at, eBay only sets your current bid at the max required to win (unlike the old old days where it was actually possible to bid against yourself).
