I think what it comes down to is this: Sometimes the head coach has to make players hate him to get effort and focus out of them, to have them play with an edge. He did that.

pats trading for akeem ayers from tenn. not really a replacement for mayo afaict but could replace collins on the outside as they move him in.

seems to have fallen out of favor but still young, sort of a reclamation project seems like.

Akeem Ayers is a legit talent. Was out #4 ranked OLB last year. Perhaps best in a Von Miller type role. Fit in NE intriguing to watch

pats/stillers parallel is interesting - both put up 51 last week in outlandish fashion; both are getting v healthy on 3-game-straight stretches playing at home, tho each still has a big test upcoming this week

that steelers result was a big shock to me, they have looked so mediocre this season and against pretty weak opposition. the only good team they played before indy was baltimore who whupped them. the colts win is a real scalp tho, and it is a great year to be matched up vs the 2 souths. there's a real chance that san diego and kcc both miss the playoffs because unconvincing pburgh and cincy teams ride in off of that easy schedule.
