record-equaling 5 championship games in a row. also 10 champ games for brady now, insane.

mayo on IR. that's a bummer for him. seems like he hasn't been 100% at all for a while, this whole season at least.

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 19 January 2016 21:49 (eight years ago) link

lying in bed last night couldn't remember drew bledsoe's name. refused to let myself sleep until i did; refused to look it up on my phone right next to the bed. felt like hours, probably 45 minutes.

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 24 January 2016 22:21 (eight years ago) link

Bledsoe haunts me too

Check Yr Scrobbles (Moodles), Sunday, 24 January 2016 22:22 (eight years ago) link

lol

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 24 January 2016 22:22 (eight years ago) link

seems like every broncos unit is playing just a bit better than the equivalent NE unit

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 24 January 2016 22:25 (eight years ago) link

tbrr, Bledsoe had his great moments. The only NFL game I ever went to was Bledsoe vs. Marino at Schaefer stadium the year the Pats went to the SB against GB. Bledsoe broke a finger during that game but still managed to beat Miami. It was probably the single most exciting event of my life.

shdve kicked that fg

lag∞n, Monday, 25 January 2016 00:14 (eight years ago) link

if you mean the first one, the 4th and 1, then totally disagree, they just should've run a better play. the 4th and 6 they should've kick. but bear in mind they left denver with gross field position both times. with a kickoff after other things could've played out v differently

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 25 January 2016 00:23 (eight years ago) link

after either, i mean

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 25 January 2016 00:24 (eight years ago) link

they were a really bad short-yardage team for a lot of the season. not such that it should have stopped them from going for it on 4th and 1, but the degree of difficulty was higher than it should have been.

wow they're showing the pats/broncos game on NFLN now and i didn't realize how open gronk was on that attempted 2-point conversion. brady never looked his way

Patriots Nation may have forgotten -- or at least is trying to forget -- Aaron Hernandez, but the tight-end-turned-convicted-murderer hasn't forgotten Patriots Nation.
In a letter to a prison pen pal obtained by TMZ, the incarcerated Hernandez says he watches the Pats games from a TV in a cell and "still [roots] for my squad and still [loves] all the ones I loved."

But he no longer loves one of the ones he loved, describing owner Robert Kraft as "fake ass [and] non loyal," saying Kraft "told me he loved me every time he seen me but obviously shows his word ain't [crap]."

Kraft testified against Hernandez in the trial in which the ex-Patriot was convicted of murdering his former friend, Oden Lloyd.

But he has good words for others, like . . .

Tom Brady: "The closest I was with was probably Brady and whom I love to death and always will and only hope the best for them.”

Rob Gronkowski: “The BEST TE ever to walk on a football field”

Julian Edelman and Deion Branch: "[Was] cool with Julez, Branch (I [bleeped] with and got mad love for)"

Hernandez started the letter by blasting his pen pal -- a woman named Rachel -- for criticizing him and went on to suggest ways she could kill herself:

-- “Tie a cinderblock to your ankles and jump in a deep body of water,” Hernandez writes.

-- “Buy the most powerful firecracker in the world that’s possible to buy, tie it to your face with duct tape, light it and wait for your head to explode.”

But he ends by saying he hopes she "had the best of holidays" . . . though the letter is dated Dec. 15, 10 days before Christmas.

please let that cat be the pats' new offensive line coach.

he gives better belichick face than belichick himself.

Have you never encountered Grumpy Cat before? She is possibly a bigger celebrity than Gronk.

Check Yr Scrobbles (Moodles), Friday, 5 February 2016 03:46 (eight years ago) link

i use the internet enough that i believe i have seen grumpy cat one or two or maybe seven trillion times. but all cats sort of look alike to me and i confess it did not register with me that that was she. i can be a dolt sometimes.

and i still would like her to be the offensive line coach.

jerod mayo retiring. i guess there was no prospect of him getting back to 100% maybe. anyway, he will always be fondly remembered for being the only remotely competent player the pats drafted across 3 drafts, a beacon of hope.

mea culpa from espn public editor about deflategate coverage and pats coverage in general; cops to being a "rabid jets fan"
http://espn.go.com/blog/ombudsman/post/_/id/624/on-deflategate-espn-air-balls-on-transparency

But sometimes, paranoia is a fair reaction to seemingly inexplicable actions. And to me, Deflategate is one of those examples because this lack of trust emanates from what has been a mismanaged affair by ESPN.

seem to have been countless "you know, this was kinda bullshit. about those draft picks..." articles recently but no chance of anything being done about it. rest of the league not losing sleep over it i am sure.

Roberto Spiralli, Thursday, 3 March 2016 19:21 (eight years ago) link

wow. Patriots Trade Chandler Jones to Cardinals

fact checking cuz, Tuesday, 15 March 2016 19:02 (eight years ago) link

sad about jones, it has been a while since they had someone who could really get after the qb and it was fun to watch. i guess i get it tho. not especially excited about chris long but they will get something out of him situationally at least
