idg how the steelers can win in kansas city and baltimore and get beaten by chicago and blown out at home by jax

i suppose the answer is that roffles sux now

mookieproof, Thursday, 19 October 2017 18:05 (seven years ago) link

steelers seem to be in a similar position to the pats in that the pieces appear to be there but they are a ways from quite coming together yet. roethlisberger has looked p off but if it is just a slump and he pulls out of it, pburgh may actually hit the playoffs looking really good. being a breaker up on kcc could wind up being a big deal too.

everyone else in their division is bad, which helps

fyi my kid receives a book every month from PJ Library, which is part of a non-profit organization and sends out children's books with themes based around Judaism. This month's book?

In 2016 Edelman became one of three Patriots (along with Malcolm Mitchell and Martellus Bennett) to publish a children's book. Edelman's book, Flying High, is about a squirrel named Jules who learns to overcome his physical limitations through hard work and the assistance of a goat named Tom.[71]

According to a league source, Donta Hightower has a torn pectoral muscle and is out for the year. Big loss for the Patriots

if the patriots offense can raise its play to the level of the defense they could make a real run at a championship

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 29 October 2017 20:06 (seven years ago) link

i will only believe in this patriots team if they acquire megatron

lag∞n, Sunday, 29 October 2017 21:16 (seven years ago) link

texans generously getting beaten on the same play action deep balls over and over to keep this interesting

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 29 October 2017 22:50 (seven years ago) link

jimmy g to SF for what will presumably be pick #33 or 34. timing is weird for what is a pretty fair deal, would've thought they might have been able to squeeze a bit more out a desperate team. pats a lil short behind brady now...

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 31 October 2017 00:48 (seven years ago) link

hopefully will draft someone a little better than ras-i dowling

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 31 October 2017 00:53 (seven years ago) link

wonder if they might be looking to move that pick for a linebacker or someone

lag∞n, Tuesday, 31 October 2017 01:00 (seven years ago) link

yeah the timing would make sense if they are gathering resources for some other moves. but also wouldn't be surprised if they didn't bring anyone in, bb often does the opposite of what you'd expect

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 31 October 2017 01:05 (seven years ago) link

why does SF make this deal?

i support this fever dream

I’m totally 100 million billion katrillion percent all-in on getting Kaepernick as the Pats backup QB.

lag∞n, Tuesday, 31 October 2017 02:06 (seven years ago) link

SF desperately needs a QB. realistic options were, in likely order of attractiveness: cousins in the summer, jimmy g now, brissett (??) in the summer, the bad looking 2018 qb class. cousins is going to be a bidding war and will get way overpaid. he's more of a sure thing but jimmy has a higher ceiling for sure and starts next season with 10 months w/ kyle shan under his belt.

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 31 October 2017 02:12 (seven years ago) link

ok ty. was not aware of weak draft class

qb controversy

Roberto Spiralli, Wednesday, 1 November 2017 17:37 (seven years ago) link

Lynch says, “ok if Garoppolo is off-limits would you trade us Brady?” Belichick to paraphrase (replied) “hold on, did you REALLY just ask me if I would trade Tom Brady?” Lynch persisted and an amused Belichick kept asking “did you really just ask that?”

would like to believe any of this was true

marty b is back! somehow made it past another 28 teams teams on waivers. i guess not everyone wants to make room on the roster for an injured TE.

Roberto Spiralli, Thursday, 9 November 2017 21:23 (seven years ago) link

thinking after the game yday that the pats have quietly developed one of the best interior OL units in the league, shoring up the place where they have most successfully been attacked all the way back to first NYG super bowl. mason-andrews-thuney all look p strong per PFF metrics and you can see in game that the trouble they have had this season, when they have had it (noticeably not so much in the last few games) has been from the edges, which brady can and does step up so well to deal with. i wonder if scheme wise they have sacrificed the edge a little to bolster the interior. even so, you'd like to see solder in particular not get badly owned one on one how he has been some times this season (altho dealing with some tough personal shit of course, hard to be too hard on him)

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 13 November 2017 16:08 (six years ago) link

this is weird too! deep down? this just makes it sound like he was an asshole most of the time
