excerpt from PFF's new 'qb annual'. would love to see the rest of this and i like PFF a lot but i have a cherished internet policy of parasitism and i try to never pay for any content

Roberto Spiralli, Thursday, 11 January 2018 15:38 (six years ago) link

thinking abt it, i support 2 patreons, pay a sub for a gdamn rss reader, and contributed to the last ilx drive so i am actually among online's foremost philanthropists but i am still not paying for a sports website.

Roberto Spiralli, Thursday, 11 January 2018 15:41 (six years ago) link

i paid for a year of greg bedard's site, more because i want to see that model succeed than because i'm dying for content.

lol wtf if that scaling

sort of feel like if you’re going to come up with a QB metric you better make sure brady was #1 in at least a few seasons in his 20s and 30s before you unveil it

k3vin k., Thursday, 11 January 2018 18:23 (six years ago) link

PFF isn't the definitive word but I like it a lot alongside other stats. in a sport that understands its own data so poorly i think a measure based on grading play-by-play performance is super valuable, even with caveats. football has to be the hardest sport to separate what we notice is happening from the full picture of what is actually happening

Congrats to Tom Brady on being picked as Patriots Player of the Week, what an incredible journey

“We used to always mess with Hernandez when we were on the field and say, ‘Hey man I heard they found the body,'” Scott said. “And we thought it was a joke because we knew something had happened in Florida. So the whole running joke was hey I heard they found the body. Like we all knew he was a bad guy, there had been stories floating around this guy for years.”

wow dont f w lil brady

Tom Brady cuts his weekly interview short on WEEI, saying he was disappointed to hear of news that host Alex Reimer made a disparaging remark about his daughter when discussing the "Tom vs. Time" documentary. Brady said he is evaluating if he wants to be on the show again.

— Mike Reiss (@MikeReiss) January 29, 2018

An inside source at WEEI has confirmed that Alex Reimer has been fired for inappropriate comments about Tom Brady's daughter.

— Rob Harrington (@bharrington5585) January 29, 2018

On WEEI’s “Kirk & Callahan,” on Monday, Brady called out the station for comments made the preceding Thursday by host Alex Reimer about Brady’s daughter, Vivian, and her appearance in the documentary, “Tom vs. Time.” On air, Reimer referred to her as an “annoying little pissant.”

lag∞n, Monday, 29 January 2018 15:42 (six years ago) link

whatever else you think about the comment itself it was a powerful career move by this guy

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 29 January 2018 15:55 (six years ago) link

i wonder if he knew as soon as the words left his mouth

Vs. the AFC East: 66-20 (.767)
Superbowl's 5-3 (.600)

earlnash, Monday, 5 February 2018 05:36 (six years ago) link

It's a ridiculous amount of championship game apperances, you got to compare it more to Yankee guys like Yogi Berra or someone like Bill Russell on the Celtics.

we should poll who's the bigger psycho, tom brady or kobe

, Tuesday, 6 February 2018 14:00 (six years ago) link

Bill Belichick is probably the only coach in the league who could bench a guy like Butler for mysterious reasons, give up 41 points to a backup QB in a Super Bowl, and not have it become the biggest story of the offseason

frogbs, Tuesday, 6 February 2018 14:27 (six years ago) link

kobes the bigger psycho, but the tom vs time - vs - the kobe musecage is a nice parallel def
