Several sources have told The Dispatch today that Ohio State senior quarterback Braxton Miller will miss the 2014 season because of the injury he suffered to his right shoulder in practice on yesterday afternoon, the same shoulder that was surgically repaired six months ago.

Ohio State has yet to confirm the prognosis, though a spokesman said that a news release on the situation will be coming this afternoon.

Look at that thing. That's not a haircut; that's the 1984 CMA Awards. You see hair like that and you wonder if there's a Fiero parked nearby. If that hair could talk, it would say: "Get back in the house, Lurleen. I'm handling this."

2013?

johnny crunch, Tuesday, 19 August 2014 20:56 (ten years ago)

Ha oops. I'm apparently so high on cough syrup I blew it on the year. Mod to fix title plz?

This year, BYU starts the season without leading rusher Jamaal Williams (1,233 yards) and receiver Devon Blackmon, who were suspended for violating team rules. It has been reported that they violated the school's honor code — Williams was arrested for suspicion of underage drinking, and Blackmon's alleged offense was wearing an earring.

johnny crunch, Thursday, 28 August 2014 12:13 (ten years ago)

Williams' "drinking" was probably caffeinated soda.

Everyone's a closet ned. (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 28 August 2014 17:42 (ten years ago)

South Carolina got straight up pantsed tonight. Oof.

Kenny football

johnny crunch, Friday, 29 August 2014 02:06 (ten years ago)

I heard a guy on the radio yesterday going home picking South Carolina to go to the final 4. Guess not.

Prince Kajuku (Bill Magill), Friday, 29 August 2014 13:59 (ten years ago)

I still think it would be relatively easy for them to win the East and go to the SEC championship unless Florida or Georgia are a total surprise.

Everyone's a closet ned. (Johnny Fever), Friday, 29 August 2014 15:44 (ten years ago)

That's fine but under the new system the politburo they've selected better remember the ass kicking they took last nite. Even if they win the east , they are headed for chik fil a or outback.

Prince Kajuku (Bill Magill), Saturday, 30 August 2014 04:23 (ten years ago)

And when they lose to bama or auburn or a and m in the championship game it could even be more dire. Let's reconnect after the dawgs play Clemson, should clarify things.

Prince Kajuku (Bill Magill), Saturday, 30 August 2014 04:26 (ten years ago)

Jesus. Strike chik fil a from that post. Apparently it's a semifinal this year. Fucking confusing.

Prince Kajuku (Bill Magill), Saturday, 30 August 2014 04:33 (ten years ago)

looking very forward to this year.

Bee OK, Saturday, 30 August 2014 23:50 (ten years ago)

For real tho.

Everyone's a closet ned. (Johnny Fever), Sunday, 31 August 2014 05:27 (ten years ago)

I was going to echo a similar sentiment about Melvin Gordon until LSU made him disappear in the second half.

Everyone's a closet ned. (Johnny Fever), Sunday, 31 August 2014 05:28 (ten years ago)

I would say the Wisconsin coaching staff helped in disappearing Gordon

Not on the national radar screen but I went to the Georgia state New Mexico State game today and it ruled. NMS came back from 17 point deficit and won with a touchdown with 15'seconds left.

Jameis Winston now suspended for the entire Clemson game instead of just the first half. I'm sure the dude's suspension is well-deserved for some other shit he did somewhere, but standing on a table and yelling out a tired internet meme at a college is common as fuck.

Johnny Fever, Saturday, 20 September 2014 03:55 (ten years ago)

Clemson pulled a Clemson in the end. No one should be surprised.

LSU got flat whooped, though.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 21 September 2014 04:02 (ten years ago)

surprised that this Ducks game is this close,

Bee OK, Sunday, 21 September 2014 05:01 (ten years ago)

Pac-12 is getting pretty comparable to SEC in terms of overall strength, but the style of football has more variety so its hard to compare.

Aimless, Sunday, 21 September 2014 16:55 (ten years ago)

w/respect, he was accused of rape and there was a second incident where a woman sought counseling after a sexual encounter w/him, plus he's basically the national face of the school. PLUS there was all that other shit in the NFL recently. so i get why they did it and can't disagree at all really.

Watching the Eagles play quite a few times, you still see that same offense pretty much on this Oregon club. Mariotta seems to be a QB that tries to minimize mistakes, which could hold well for him moving as a running QB to the NFL. It's the dumb turnovers that kill all of those running QBs when you get down to it, that and they get clobbered and hurt a bunch.

It was pretty impressive.

I don't think this year's Alabama is one of Saban's better clubs. They could still win it all, but they don't seem as physically overwhelming as some of his other clubs. I can't get with Ohio State as their fans always suck, an obvious group. I'd like to see the Big 10 get back to being great, but not of those bozos are at the top of the hill. As an Indiana fan with little hope of ever having any real NCAA football success, I always leaned a bit more to liking Michigan or Michigan St. on the big stage. Michigan fans are a lot more fun, but I thought that old "Muck Fishigan" billboard OSU fans put up in Colombus back in the 90s was hilarious.

LOL Tide!

schwantz, Friday, 2 January 2015 05:43 (ten years ago)

And so the big dawg of the SEC West also loses. The thought of so many distraught, unhappy, angry, upset SEC fans does not bother me in the slightest.

dumpster® fire (Aimless), Friday, 2 January 2015 05:47 (ten years ago)

Not sure if anyone can stop the Oregon offense.

schwantz, Friday, 2 January 2015 05:51 (ten years ago)

what a game that was and it was a lot of fun esp with Alabama losing.

Go Ducks!

Bee OK, Friday, 2 January 2015 05:56 (ten years ago)

Alabama losing a close one is indeed a heartbreaker for me. Still, watching Florida State get absolutely pantsed in the Rose Bowl will give me enough good cheer to last until September.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 2 January 2015 05:59 (ten years ago)

dang, i thought OSU was going to get embarrassed in that game. instead, lots of kiffin forcing the ball to the #1 receiver and getting killed over it. i was rooting for bama but felt like i was watching last year's usc vs ucla game.

eh mec, elle est ou ma caisse? (ytth), Friday, 2 January 2015 06:25 (ten years ago)

There was some damn atrocious playcalling by Ohio State in that game. Passing on first down in a run-out-the-clock situation? And it was a really REALLY bad pass.

Mr. Snrub, Friday, 2 January 2015 06:38 (ten years ago)

I cannot see Ohio St. beating Oregon. That club put a precision beat down on Florida St. Alabama's defense got ran out of the building. The championship game should be very techmo bowl either way.

earlnash, Friday, 2 January 2015 09:18 (ten years ago)

xp yeah I mean meyer wanted to definitively _end_ it w/ that bomb in a sitch where as you rightly say, it's like a 95% run or short pass and the dfense knows that too

johnny crunch, Friday, 2 January 2015 13:09 (ten years ago)

osu could def beat oregon

johnny crunch, Friday, 2 January 2015 13:10 (ten years ago)

Yes, OSU could beat Oregon. But they won't if the ducks don't have a rash of injuries to key players. Oregon team as it stands today would beat OSU 4 out of 5 games.

dumpster® fire (Aimless), Friday, 2 January 2015 17:50 (ten years ago)

seeing as boise st was able to beat arizona, I wonder how many oregon could steal from boise st in a series of 5.

$80 is absurd and very ridiculous! (Sufjan Grafton), Friday, 2 January 2015 18:51 (ten years ago)

I would welcome boise state to an expanded playoff, where they could prove their prowess against the field. Except the field would include the Pac-12 champions and that wasn't Arizona.

dumpster® fire (Aimless), Friday, 2 January 2015 18:56 (ten years ago)

lucky for Oregon ;-)

$80 is absurd and very ridiculous! (Sufjan Grafton), Friday, 2 January 2015 18:59 (ten years ago)

I'm just giving you a hard time. Obviously, Oregon proved to be a better team in the last meeting. I want Oregon to beat OSU as well. I'm just not so confident that any of these top teams could beat anther 80% of the time!

$80 is absurd and very ridiculous! (Sufjan Grafton), Friday, 2 January 2015 19:01 (ten years ago)

tenn was really jekyll/hyde this season iirc

only really outlandish result to me was tcu so destroying ole miss. i think overall big 10 was prob underrated a bit, sec overrated a lil sure. does osu def win this game w/ braxton miller or barrett? kindof hit a fortuitous jackpot w/ cardale. overall i think theres a p deep talent pool across ncaa ftball rt now

johnny crunch, Friday, 2 January 2015 23:53 (ten years ago)

because we will never know for sure, I can confidently state that with braxton miller or barrett at qb the ducks would roast the buckeyes over slow coals like a shish kebab and devour them - or maybe not. it depends.
