My two teams play. I can't lose. Ugh.

Prince Kajuku (Bill Magill), Wednesday, 8 October 2014 03:40 (ten years ago)

Only good game is panthers bengals?

Prince Kajuku (Bill Magill), Wednesday, 8 October 2014 03:41 (ten years ago)

I'd add Bears/Falcons, Cowboys/Squawks and maybe Gints/Iggles to the list. Colts/Texans could be the first close Thursday night game of the season, but neither team is terribly exciting to watch.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 8 October 2014 05:25 (ten years ago)

gints/iggs gonna be insane game imo

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11670621/adrian-peterson-minnesota-vikings-ordered-arrested-pot-admission

According to the filing signed by Bill Delmore, the Assistant District Attorney for the state of Texas, Peterson admitted to the worker that he had "smoked a little weed" before the test. Not taking any illegal drugs are common terms to adhere to when out on bond.

"In light of this statement, and the fact that it was made during the urinalysis testing process, and the term 'weed' is a common slang term for marijuana, the state argues that the defendant has smoked marijuana while on bond,'' the district attorney's office wrote.

Colts @ Texans- I'd figure the Colts might be a bit better overall but the Texans are improved. I'm going to be a homer and go Colts anyway.
Pats @ Bills- Interesting match up and I'd like to see Buffalo knock them off but I'm going Pats.
Ravens @ Bucs- Ravens.
Steelers @ Browns- This is a divisional game and at this point looks like a toss up. Hard to trust the Browns yet, so I will go Steelers.
Panthers @ Bengals- Boy both of these clubs have laid some serious eggs in the past few weeks so it is hard to trust either one. I'll take Cincy at home as they have played well there over the past year or so.
Broncos @ Jets- Broncos.
Lions @ Vikings- Lions, although I really don't trust them on the road still.
Packers @ Dolphins- Packers, but they seem to have off games. Miami seems a step back from last year, it may be just a harder schedule.
Jags @ Titans- This is a week the Jags could maybe get a win. Probably not, I'll take the Titans.
Chargers @ Raiders- Chargers.
Bears @ Falcons- I figure this game is a toss up, but I'm going to stay homer and take the Bears. I don't think either club is going anywhere but the middle of the pack out of the playoffs.
Cowboys @ Seahawks- Seahawks probably still are the better club, so I till take them in the noise.
Hatcats @ Cards- Cards.
Giants @ Eagles- I might actually watch this Sunday night game as Eagles and Giants is a good rivalry, one of the best in the NFL. I'm leaning Eagles although their D-line got pushed around bad last time I saw them play.
Niners @ Rams- Niners. This probably used to be a pretty big rivalry game back in the day.

earlnash, Thursday, 9 October 2014 22:32 (ten years ago)

Mike Carey probably did just like he did on a hundred calls when he was a ref, he didn't really see the first 'replay' yet made a call and stuck to it even though totally wrong. I can't believe after after they showed it again he didn't see it was damn obvious that the guy caught the ball with both hands then lost it trying to move it down into his arm to try to run.

That is a definitely an NFL ref talking.

earlnash, Friday, 10 October 2014 04:14 (ten years ago)

JJ Watt is really unbelievable. That guy has a motor and has to be in amazing shape considering how much he runs for a big guy.

Got to say the Colts put a whupping on Houston in the first quarter that was really impressive, but you have to give Houston some points for gritting it out and making it interesting.

http://m.espn.go.com/nfl/story?storyId=11676472

Apparently, New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning should be afraid to go into Philadelphia on Sunday night. Very, very afraid.

On Friday, the Eagles posted a 1-minute, 23-second video on their Twitter account which shows a boyish-sounding, cartoon version of the two-time Super Bowl MVP getting frightened by ghostly Philadelphia defensive players.

In the mocking video, Manning confidently struts into Lincoln Financial Field and declares: "Ah, yeah! 'Little' Eli's in the house! What's up, Philly? You want some of this? I don't think you heard me!"

But the lights go out, and Manning becomes scared.

"We're coming for you, Eli. We're coming to get you, Eli," the ghosts of Eagles players Bennie Logan, Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, Beau Allen, Cedric Thornton and Malcolm Jenkins tell Manning.

Manning tries to run away screaming, but ends up with his No. 10 jersey over his head and his underwear hanging out.

"This is horrible!" Manning says, crying. "I can't see a thing! Somebody please, fix my underwear! I'm so scared! Every single time with these Eagles! Get me out of Philadelphia!"

The Eagles, who are wearing all-black uniforms, are billing the game as #BlackSunday.

Manning is 6-3 as a starter at Lincoln Financial Field in his career with 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

Next month, the Washington R*******s will fly to a state with a governor who has called their mascot racist, drive to a university with a president who wants their moniker changed, arrive at a stadium built with the help of a multimillion-dollar tribal donation and be greeted with what organizers hope is the biggest-ever protest of the team’s name.

Minnesota Native American leaders, student organizations and other activists have been preparing for weeks to stage demonstrations outside the University of Minnesota’s TCF Bank Stadium, where the R*******s will play the Minnesota Vikings on Nov. 2. Organizers say Native Americans from at least seven states intend to join.

Must be something in conjunction with CBS getting TNF and Fox not getting it."

It may be because the Thursday night game are all 'division rival' games, so if there is a division rival game that isn't the main CBS game, Fox has the option to get the air rights.
