fascinating game tomorrow 0-3 ravens vs michael vick @ heinz

p lame schedule of games otherwise, for the most part. and another marquee game in london, perfect season for fins season ticket holders to lose a game tbh

Roberto Spiralli, Wednesday, 30 September 2015 12:24 (nine years ago)

the late afternoon is ok, but what the hell is going on with two primetime lions games in two weeks? that team sucks.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 30 September 2015 12:28 (nine years ago)

yeah I can't imagine they're going to fare much better than the Bears did

frogbs, Wednesday, 30 September 2015 12:29 (nine years ago)

at least stafford won't have a close game to choke away this time

Roberto Spiralli, Wednesday, 30 September 2015 12:30 (nine years ago)

Betting lines, if y'all are interested. Second number is total points scored.

Jacksonville (+9) at Indianapolis (48)
NY Giants (+5.5) at Buffalo (46.5)
Carolina (-4) at Tampa Bay (41)

Detroit (+10) at Seattle (43)

frogbs, Wednesday, 30 September 2015 12:35 (nine years ago)

flex the lions to London. by themselves if necesssary

johnny crunch, Wednesday, 30 September 2015 12:57 (nine years ago)

woah, i don't think the jets are particularly good but miami are absolute garbage and -2 at a neutral venue is insane value.

Roberto Spiralli, Wednesday, 30 September 2015 13:00 (nine years ago)

washington getting points at home vs eagles seems generous too

Roberto Spiralli, Wednesday, 30 September 2015 13:03 (nine years ago)

really feel like throwing Arizona into a teaser with everything, that game feels like a lock

frogbs, Wednesday, 30 September 2015 13:43 (nine years ago)

idk i wouldn't like to place a bet involving the rams rn, they are so weird and volatile.

Roberto Spiralli, Wednesday, 30 September 2015 13:46 (nine years ago)

I dunno, they managed a total of 16 points in their last two games, Cards probably aren't going to go hog wild the way they have so far (STL's defense seems at least respectible) but I can't see them scoring less than 24 at home. They've played some shaky defenses but their passing attack is nuts.

frogbs, Wednesday, 30 September 2015 13:53 (nine years ago)

Rodgers 135 QB rating, 74% completion, 10 TDs, 0 INTs, just amazing

my cheeriness amazes me (rip van wanko), Wednesday, 30 September 2015 14:48 (nine years ago)

xp STL will be the first real defense they face, interested to see how that shakes out

slothroprhymes, Wednesday, 30 September 2015 14:54 (nine years ago)

lag∞n, Wednesday, 30 September 2015 18:09 (nine years ago)

it's amazing because talib was playing p much a lights out game in coverage as good as you will see and megatron still found an opportunity to pwn him

seriously, THIS GUY (daria-g), Thursday, 1 October 2015 04:12 (nine years ago)

"mike" vick is not very good.

ravens also seem not very good, it will be a shame if they come back to win this as looks likely.

Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 2 October 2015 02:55 (nine years ago)

Vick in his prime was so fun to watch

Spottie, Friday, 2 October 2015 02:57 (nine years ago)

the worst play in nfl history might have been the qb sneak joe flacco just tried to run

call all destroyer, Friday, 2 October 2015 03:00 (nine years ago)

could be. ravens declining to win

Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 2 October 2015 03:01 (nine years ago)

steelers should've ridden bell all half

Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 2 October 2015 03:02 (nine years ago)

credit where it's due, that BAL fake punt had a beautiful design but one missed block sunk it

call all destroyer, Friday, 2 October 2015 03:05 (nine years ago)

without that great tackle it was probably going for 6

Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 2 October 2015 03:07 (nine years ago)

omg 'field goal target line'. i haven't seen that before. that is the shittiest graphic i have seen on sports coverage for about 20 years

Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 2 October 2015 03:09 (nine years ago)

omg pls don't tie this game

Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 2 October 2015 03:20 (nine years ago)

i remember when josh scobee was about all that passed for a bright spot in jacksonville

call all destroyer, Friday, 2 October 2015 03:25 (nine years ago)

torn between wanting to go to bed and wanting this to be a tie

Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 2 October 2015 03:28 (nine years ago)

I took total under 44 points, this is a legit sweat right here (FU Scobee)

frogbs, Friday, 2 October 2015 03:31 (nine years ago)

lol. what a parade of shit 4th down plays this game has been

Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 2 October 2015 03:33 (nine years ago)

so much of pburgh's offense has been vick trying to pass to dhb, it is easy to forget that have some actual players.

Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 2 October 2015 03:39 (nine years ago)

tomlin's coaching in this game has been kinda horrifying

J0rdan S., Friday, 2 October 2015 03:39 (nine years ago)

wtf is this thing with vick pirouetting

Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 2 October 2015 03:40 (nine years ago)

honestly scobee can't be this bad

J0rdan S., Friday, 2 October 2015 03:41 (nine years ago)

this is malpractice

J0rdan S., Friday, 2 October 2015 03:42 (nine years ago)

holy fucking christ

Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 2 October 2015 03:42 (nine years ago)

it's not like scobee was shanking kicks, just let him do it

J0rdan S., Friday, 2 October 2015 03:43 (nine years ago)

idk those were some of the worst hit kicks i have seen for some time, wobbly and veering.

Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 2 October 2015 03:45 (nine years ago)

is the national media finally going to catch on to how bad tomlin is?

call all destroyer, Friday, 2 October 2015 03:45 (nine years ago)

Interim coach is probably the easiest job! You can rest assured that management probably won't fire TWO coaches in the same season, so just earn your check and update your resume.

Johnny Fever, Monday, 5 October 2015 16:11 (nine years ago)

hope croyle and lazor are updating theirs as well

call all destroyer, Monday, 5 October 2015 17:23 (nine years ago)

lazor is a pretty decent coordinator, coyle is horrible and the defense quit on him midseason last year and he's still somehow made it this far

J0rdan S., Monday, 5 October 2015 17:27 (nine years ago)

actually i guess coyle is fired too now?

call all destroyer, Monday, 5 October 2015 17:28 (nine years ago)

if the interim coach doesn't fire coyle they should fire him and keep firing interim coaches until they find someone who will fire coyle

J0rdan S., Monday, 5 October 2015 17:41 (nine years ago)

http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/sources-say-tension-with-dolphins-had-been-mounting-for-weeks-in-practice/

ryan t is pretty wack, huh

polyphonic, Monday, 5 October 2015 17:43 (nine years ago)

On Saturday during practice, Tannehill, after a couple of practice squad players forced turnovers, Tannehill made negative comments toward them, including saying: “Enjoy your practice squad paycheck, enjoy your practice squad trophy.”

ouch

frogbs, Monday, 5 October 2015 17:57 (nine years ago)

also

Philbin told the practice squad players to take it easy on Tannehill to not affect the young quarterback’s confidence.

http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/miami-dolphins/ryan-tannehill/

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 5 October 2015 17:58 (nine years ago)

that story... does not scan for me

J0rdan S., Monday, 5 October 2015 18:01 (nine years ago)

tannehill is the qb for the dolphins if it helps

balls, Monday, 5 October 2015 18:04 (nine years ago)

yeah i am questioning the veracity of that

call all destroyer, Monday, 5 October 2015 18:04 (nine years ago)

http://www.originalprop.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/04/i-want-to-believe.jpg

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 5 October 2015 18:05 (nine years ago)

hard to watch the dolphins secondary this year and believe that the guys not even good enough to supplant those guys are making so many interceptions in practice that the quarterback is about to go into the fetal position

J0rdan S., Monday, 5 October 2015 18:10 (nine years ago)

well that's not what it says. i could believe it except it is too pat, too perfect for the situation

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 5 October 2015 18:18 (nine years ago)

there is probably a kernel of something tho

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 5 October 2015 18:18 (nine years ago)

tanne shitting it up in practice and talking trash to practice squad players is easy to believe

J0rdan S., Monday, 5 October 2015 18:19 (nine years ago)

Philbin looked like such a uninspiring tool on Hard Knocks (couple years ago). Not shocked that he's gone.

schwantz, Monday, 5 October 2015 18:54 (nine years ago)

can't even count the amount of times that something cataclysmic happened on the field only for the broadcast to flash to philbin as he golf claps at the team w/ a blank stare on his face

J0rdan S., Monday, 5 October 2015 19:00 (nine years ago)

lol. there's this adage about turning the sound off the tv and with good actors it should still be obvious what is happening or what they're feeling. i had the sound off on sunday as philbin was interviewed coming off from the first half 20-7 and he was a total blank, the score could've been anything.

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 5 October 2015 19:09 (nine years ago)

calvin johnson looks terrible in general but that was ridiculous

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 6 October 2015 03:17 (nine years ago)

xp lions fought their way back in and calvin johnson fumbled possible game winning td about 2 inches short of the line

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 6 October 2015 03:17 (nine years ago)

well that was all very detroit

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 6 October 2015 03:19 (nine years ago)

they're not

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 6 October 2015 03:24 (nine years ago)

almost losing at home to a winless lions team coached by jim caldwell takes a bit of luster off the home field advantage

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 6 October 2015 03:25 (nine years ago)

can't decide if seahawks are going to pull it all together and canter thru the playoffs like nbd or if they have actually already lost too many players and too much depth.

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 6 October 2015 03:26 (nine years ago)

took 2 catastrophic fumbles in consecutive drives to move lions off 3pts in this game tbf

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 6 October 2015 03:27 (nine years ago)

wilson does like to drop the ball

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 6 October 2015 03:28 (nine years ago)

the seahawks playoff chances are entirely dependent on where they're playing.

if they have to go on the road in the nfc they're in trouble.

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 6 October 2015 03:29 (nine years ago)

yeah homefield is really important for them, if they have to go to green bay or atlanta or arizona i don't like their chances

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 6 October 2015 03:35 (nine years ago)

Lions and Browns both perfectly summed up their franchises this weekend

frogbs, Tuesday, 6 October 2015 03:45 (nine years ago)

wait...each others franchises. if you really think about it

frogbs, Tuesday, 6 October 2015 03:46 (nine years ago)

they're going to try to stir up an illegal batting controversy on that fumble i guess

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 6 October 2015 03:48 (nine years ago)

ok NOW it's the perfect Lions loss

frogbs, Tuesday, 6 October 2015 03:49 (nine years ago)

so the nfl is coming out right now and saying straight up this was a blown call.

why is this play even illegal?

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 6 October 2015 04:03 (nine years ago)

this has been RT'd by everyone but def worth repeating here:

Curtis Crabtree
‏@Curtis_Crabtree
Michael Bennett: "I don't like Matt Stafford much. He's from Dallas. They killed the President (JFK). ... I hold it against him."

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 6 October 2015 11:50 (nine years ago)

batting rule seems vaguely familiar, feel like it has come up before, but regardless of whether it is necessary that was a major fuck up by the officials. detroit player closest to wright knows immediately so fair play to that guy for being the one heads up dude in the stadium. it's incomprehensible that they could get something so straightforward wrong and so badly affect the outcome of the game in favour of the seahawks.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWRG5cACzl8

most importantly though that would've been amazing entertainment so unlike some famous, high-profile cheating scandals e.g. fake crowd noise, this time we all lose out.
