not that anyone would've cared particularly if this thread didn't start till tomorrow...
or until 4pm sunday maybe. 1pm games are p gross but pack/vikes and bengals/cards are worth waiting all day for sunday late afternoon/evening
― Roberto Spiralli, Thursday, 19 November 2015 23:58 (nine years ago)
They're doing the weird unis thing again this week, but I'm kind of into these alternate Jags jerseys. Not the whole same-color jerseys/pants combo, but the jerseys would look tight as hell with black or white pants. Plus, there'd be one less turquoise team in the league.
(No comment on the game. I only saw the last 2 minutes before halftime.)

1) - those unis looked bad enough for the jags but the titans looked like they were at a sleepover2) - the titans have a tight end named SUPERNAW3) - that two minute drill by tennessee at the end of the game was the least enthusiastic potential game winning drive ever; they had every chance to get back in the standings and they couldn't even line up reasonably quickly4) - neither of these teams deserve to be anywhere near the playoffs

I'd like to watch the Bears and Broncos game, but it's not on around here. Might have been different if it was Manning playing QB.
Got to think either way that Fox and Cutler both would like to win that game. I would not be surprised if Fox pulls out some crazy blitzes this week.
― earlnash, Friday, 20 November 2015 14:02 (nine years ago)
um
Why do receivers instinctively pop up, gyrate and make the first down sign after taking a big (or little) hit? They’re communicating in the language of hunters, “I ain’t scared!” Cam Newton broke tackles, twisted, stretched and bulldozed his way into the end zone on Sunday. He leaped to his feet and let the Titans know the jungle doesn’t scare him. Do your thang, Cam, but remember no one survives in the jungle forever. Tarzan is fiction. You “dab” a finger, an arm and a leg often enough at a bear, lion and tiger and you’ll eventually lose some body parts. Ask RG3.

they've had three losing seasons this century, which is more than i thought but still not bad. steelers have only had one losing season this century, pats have only had one* (2000), broncos have only had one, packers have had two.

Broncos I didn't realize.

I kinda picture the Colts comeback against the Falcons in the second half being like the movie "Stripes" with Matt Hasselback as Sgt. Hulka.
"I'm getting too old for this shit."
Next week's Bucs and Colts matchup is actually a playoff tussle with the Bucs 5-5 and just outside the Wild Card in the NFC.

P sure Carson forgot what year it was on that throw
― Hammer Smashed Bagels, Monday, 23 November 2015 01:38 (nine years ago)
i like how this season only a few teams are hoarding all the wins then there are million others playing .500 fighting for playoffs spots its good imo
― lag∞n, Monday, 23 November 2015 02:48 (nine years ago)
i agree, looking over the schedule there were a lot of unappealing looking games but many of them were teams in similar situations jockeying for the playoffs. it's interesting now but in the end there's going to be two or three pretty bad teams wildcard weekend.
― Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 23 November 2015 03:16 (nine years ago)

there is still no respect for the panthers. they have been pretty good for a few years now but i guess it is weird to think of them as a really good team. their good players are not showy is probably another element, it is a pretty headline unfriendly team in that regard outside of cam. and then there is cam himself of course.
― Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 23 November 2015 03:41 (nine years ago)
teams that just grind get no love, panthers are maybe the best grinding team since like the mcnair titans

The rotating cast of characters Norman adopts each week also includes William Wallace from “Braveheart.” But none of those acts is more involved than his turn as Batman. He decided to embody the Dark Knight before a night game against the Indianapolis Colts after comparing a rainy Charlotte night to Gotham City. Norman said he had to “save a couple of people.” The Panthers won in overtime. “It was dark. It was rainy. It was misty. You had to come out of there and hit, fly around. You got a couple of bad guys out there you’re defending,” Norman told reporters.
