― Does that make you mutter, under your breath, “Damn”? (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 5 January 2016 20:07 (nine years ago)
Chiefs, Steelers, Hawks, Pack btw
chiefs, toss-up*, squawks, pack
*only if dalton is back AND doesn't become Playoff Dalton, if it's mccarron steelermen def take that game
― metro slothrop want some more (slothroprhymes), Tuesday, 5 January 2016 20:10 (nine years ago)
all of these seem close, except for seattle/vikes sadly. kcc/texans has got to be a low scorer which honestly might favour houston. idk it is hard to rule out the chiefs the way they have been galloping thru the back half of this season. bengals are surely doomed to lose vs steelers which will be a real bummer if it happens. and i suppose green bay has to win, however off they look right now. wash have been winning games but all against pretty crappy teams when you look at it. if there is going to be a "surprise" in the round it would be that game tho.
― Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 5 January 2016 20:43 (nine years ago)
the only legit SURPRISE outcome for me would be if the seahawks didn't win
― Does that make you mutter, under your breath, “Damn”? (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 5 January 2016 20:44 (nine years ago)
seattles tear thru the last ~6 wks or so hasn't been against the best teams really. winning @ min and @ az were both legit over by like each 2nd qtr which is a bit fluky tho of course blowing out a playoff team is undoubtedly impressive. credit where credit is due for taking care of biz when its a league where u can lose to anyone but idk i wouldn't be shocked if minny won, their d is p good
― johnny crunch, Tuesday, 5 January 2016 20:57 (nine years ago)
is marshawn playing?
he just started full practices apparently, so i'd assume so - who knows how effective he'll be tho. lacking rawls as a 2nd option at RB is definitely a loss for seattle
― metro slothrop want some more (slothroprhymes), Tuesday, 5 January 2016 21:00 (nine years ago)
pack is terrible, Rodgers looks like he wants this season to end, has to be some injury to explain his problems (beyond his supporting cast).
― by the light of the burning Citroën, Tuesday, 5 January 2016 21:04 (nine years ago)
j.cru i hope you're right that it is more of a contest. i don't put any stock in the AZ game because they were two very differently motivated teams at that point in the season but that was a beating in minnesota.
― Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 5 January 2016 21:07 (nine years ago)
Current lines:
Texans +3Seattle +6.5 (started as +3.5!)Green Bay +1
Pittsburgh/Cincinatti is off the board until Dalton's status is resolved
― frogbs, Tuesday, 5 January 2016 21:33 (nine years ago)
wait, I messed that up, Seattle is a 6.5 point favorite, not underdog
― frogbs, Tuesday, 5 January 2016 21:34 (nine years ago)
As for my predictions - I think Pittsburgh will destroy Cincinatti either way, GB will probably lose (I agree they're pretty terrible right now), and the Texans could legit score 0 points this game, though I can't imagine the Chiefs scoring more than 14 or so. I know it's too obvious to predict Seattle/Minnesota as a blowout based on their last game, but given how good Seattle's run defense is and how one-note Minnesota is I just don't see them putting up much of a fight. Bridgewater is gonna have to have the game of his life, and if Lynch is back he's gonna give that defense some problems.
― frogbs, Tuesday, 5 January 2016 21:39 (nine years ago)
This episode sounds like a scene out of a football version of "Semi-Pro". Hilarious, but you got to wonder what kind of club is really going to pony up real money for the dude. I think the guy keeps it up he could end up Kryptonite.

man you would think that having just been knocked out of the playoffs for being a shower of assholes would give the bengals an opportunity for self reflection but no they are just all calling joey porter out instead. embarrassing.

wow srs stuff huh
― lag∞n, Monday, 11 January 2016 22:01 (nine years ago)
yeah I mean he should be fined for sure but j christ it isn't like the Bengals are the first time to ever be instigated, better teams just know how to keep their heads together and move along.
so much had to happen to collapse - but this was their Sistine Chapel of meltdowns
