Georgia has not fell off it seems. What I watched, Clemsons offense could not do bupkus. D played ok in first half but it looks pretty obvious they ran out of gas against the Bulldogs. Whooping.

I was called names for saying Riley Leonard looked like Tyler Buchner against TAMU. That 15 yard underthrow INT looked like high school (and it likely cost us the game of course).

I did not particularly enjoy the week when it seemed he could stumble us to the CFP with an eye black crucifix on his face.

james madison put up some remarkable numbers at north carolina (53 first-half points, among other things)

Their old coach took over Indiana and they have dropped 200+ points in their first 4 games, albeit though lesser teams.

IU whomped up on the Cornhuskers. James Madison is even a bit more impressive when you consider Cignetti brought 14 players with him to Indiana.

Hopefully the QBs injury is not that bad. He can toss it pretty good.

Don’t know if anyone else saw them but I thought the retro uniforms the Illini were wearing against Michigan were pretty cool.

They had the helmet painted to look like an old leather helmet.

ohio state looks like by far the best team to me this year, but their QB isn't a stud so maybe they can be gotten. i'm looking forward to the playoff

i think even if they could afford to fire him they wouldn't because after last season the fanbase is too invested in him being the savior. they will have no choice to hit the portal hard again to be competitive bcuz their roster just isn't good, and that might work. but if it doesn't then i'll be very interested to see what happens

in spite of messy officiating, fans throwing bottles on the field, dropped balls, and interceptions, UGA/Texas was a lot of fun to watch

xp They improved each year under Norvell until this season, so he probably is a good coach. Their portal ranking has been fairly consistent, but it seems (at a glance) they took more proven players in '23 compared to '24 - more guys with T ranking > HS ranking.

Miami have been extremely entertaining this year. Every close game has at least one controversial late call. This most recent one with Louisville was clearly not a fumble, though. The hit on Fernando Mendoza was the definition of targeting, however. Cal were also screwed by the refs in South Bend two years ago, so I feel quite badly for them.

i definitely think norvell is a good coach, but he's at a school where they expect you to be better than just good. there's still a lot of evidence that you need to recruit HS at a really high level to compete for a national title, regardless of how well you portal, and norvell has never recruited high school well at FSU, even last year. recruiting people have been calling this out for years but he was able to paper over it w/ great portal additions covering the last two seasons. this year they struck out and there is no base talent level to fall back on and the result is the worst season in school history basically. i think his issue is that he's at a job that expects consistent excellence, but in order to be consistently excellent you very likely cannot be relying on the portal bringing in half your starting line up every season

(as a miami fan) the thing that was annoying about this is that, in reality, a call wasn't even made. that was standard practice in these exact situations now -- the refs "call" it a touchdown bcuz the rules still stipulate that a call has to be made on the field, but in reality the refs are doing nothing and just waiting to consult the video. the call was always the correct one, which was an incomplete pass. nothing was actually "overturned"

yes, I agree they would have ruled it an incomplete pass in the moment if video review weren't an option.

i honestly love it

i think georgia and ohio state are still on a different level than anyone else in terms of talent and physical attributes of their players. but their QBs are not that great, or in the case of beck haven't been playing that great. teams like miami and oregon have lesser overall talent but still enough talent to beat them when combined w/ superior QB play. having to beat both ohio state and georgia would be tough for any team though.
