jaxson dart is a person too
― brimstead, Saturday, 12 April 2025 14:53 (four months ago)
If Dart goes in the first round I will lol
― trm (tombotomod), Saturday, 12 April 2025 22:46 (four months ago)
yeah it would not be a smart decision. selecting a qb who could only make one read per play used to be a dealbreaker, but i guess now all nfl hcs and ocs think they are the kind of supergenius who can make one-read offenses work in the nfl

So Matt Lombardo’s mock draft has Dart going to the Stillers. Hmm hmm.

So any guesses who might be the late round Qb that eventually makes some money in the big leagues?
I'm kind of curious after watching Kurtis Rourke throw the ball for the Hoosiers if he has a shot. I think the guy has the arm, he's kinda a meatball dude - he won't outrun anyone.
I would also keep an eye on that dude Diego Pavia that played for Vanderbilt, he's a nut and plays really smart. I think the guy has moxie. Somehow he got another (6th?) year of eligibility and I think is playing for Vandy again.

rourke played the entirety of last season with a torn acl
pavia is indeed back at vandy

qb class is pretty weak overall, but rourke struck me as very accurate when watching indiana, and if he was playing on one leg, even more impressive.

The exciting thing on watching last year's IU team was that they went for the bomb a bunch and hit some killer deep passes. They had a few against UCLA and Nebraska.

membou some guys
― gestures broadly at...everything (voodoo chili), Friday, 25 April 2025 00:55 (three months ago)
ok man
He’s not just a guy who changes how a team plays, but how it thinks. Just weigh what Campbell said about his new teammates after hearing his name called Thursday: “I’m gonna fight and die to protect them with everything I got.”
― mookieproof, Friday, 25 April 2025 11:40 (three months ago)
to be fair it was unclear if last year’s patriots oline understood they were supposed to protect the qb

lol i don’t think shedeur is going in the second round

NFL owners collectively ignore Donald Trump
― symsymsym, Saturday, 26 April 2025 01:02 (three months ago)
this is pretty funny objectively

not really buying the "he didn't interview well" talk nor the idea that they don't wanna deal with his dad if there was even a remote chance he could be a franchise quarterback he would've been taken by now
― frogbs, Saturday, 26 April 2025 04:04 (three months ago)
I disagree. He has all the ingredients to be a franchise QB. His dad is an ass and makes it a point to team staff that he’s more important than them. Deion is an albatross and nobody wants to deal with his bullshit.
― trm (tombotomod), Saturday, 26 April 2025 04:09 (three months ago)
franchise QBs are so incredibly valuable though I feel like some team would deal with it anyway
― frogbs, Saturday, 26 April 2025 04:27 (three months ago)
i’ve always found nfl teams’ obsession with avoiding ‘distractions’ risible but in this case i absolutely get it. mel kiper’s about to go on a hunger strike; imagine having to deal with that each week for years
#legendary
― mookieproof, Saturday, 26 April 2025 15:15 (three months ago)
He has all the ingredients except one, he’s not particularly fast and gets sacked a lot. Given how much faster the pro game is that could be a real problem. That said I did just remember his dad saying he would intervene to make sure he didn’t play for certain teams and yeah I can get why no NFL franchise wants to deal with that
― frogbs, Saturday, 26 April 2025 15:48 (three months ago)
also enjoying sean payton et al being like he was already a good qb prospect but now it's over for you bitches because he'll be playing with a chip on his shoulder. oh no! if that's what it takes to motivate him, imagine how much more motivated he'll be if he goes undrafted
btw why do teams, instead of merely having quarterbacks, now have a quarterback *room*? it's so weird and mannered; makes me want to go vertical
― mookieproof, Saturday, 26 April 2025 22:29 (three months ago)
god bless the cleve brownies i guess

a room to avoid spending time in at all costs
― symsymsym, Sunday, 27 April 2025 03:06 (three months ago)
Quarterbacks always seem like the riskiest draft picks, but with a potential for the greatest rewards.
49ers made their first five picks defensive linemen this year for the first time since 1981, which made me happy. They need to be able to stop the run.
We'll see how it goes though. Nobody really knows how any of these choices will play out
