Couldn't find the "jackassed things said on MNF" thread where this belongs...

At least they're keeping Kornheiser...

rogermexico., Monday, 26 March 2007 17:10 (eighteen years ago)

Mixed feelings -- actual feetsball analysis will be better, but the Tony/Joe sparring was entertaining, sometimes the only thing worth watching the game for.

Rock Hardy, Monday, 26 March 2007 18:01 (eighteen years ago)

no cable so this doesn't affect me other than the warm feeling i get knowing joe theismann is no longer on the air.

chicago kevin, Monday, 26 March 2007 18:27 (eighteen years ago)

haha i saw this in the morning and was quite pleased but really they couldn't get rid of kornheiser too? the funniest thing is that just a few months ago i read a thing in the SI with the MNF producer insisting he wasn't going to make any changes at all, these are the guys, everyone loves joe, etc.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Monday, 26 March 2007 19:39 (eighteen years ago)

but really they couldn't get rid of kornheiser too?

Wonder who Kornheiser's bangin'...

rogermexico., Monday, 26 March 2007 21:14 (eighteen years ago)

EWW

JAWS II: THE FLATTENING

forksclovetofu, Tuesday, 27 March 2007 02:53 (eighteen years ago)

They've heard Jaws do play-by-play, right? Right?! Because I have and it's not enjoyable AT ALL!

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 27 March 2007 09:32 (eighteen years ago)

Good thing they have consummate professional, and lover of ladies, Mike Tirico in the booth to do that nasty play-by-play!

David R., Wednesday, 28 March 2007 05:06 (eighteen years ago)

guys i think i just don't want to watch mnf ever again.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Monday, 2 April 2007 17:19 (eighteen years ago)

dude I didnt even watch half the mnf games this year. too painful. also, the radio broadcast (marv albert!) is so much better!!!!!!!

cankles, Monday, 2 April 2007 21:36 (eighteen years ago)

radio. that's it.

Dr. Morbius:, Tuesday, 3 April 2007 04:04 (eighteen years ago)

you have too much punctuation in your name to be real ;_;

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 5 April 2007 17:06 (eighteen years ago)

do you know what annoys me most about mnf? just how self reflexive it is.

i mean, quoting career numbers on mnf? mnf records? pretty worthless.

j.q higgins, Friday, 6 April 2007 15:27 (eighteen years ago)

I heard Tirico on ESPN Radio doing an insufferable Masters update yesterday. It was like he was sucking on Jim Nantz' golf gravitas at gunpoint.

David R., Friday, 6 April 2007 15:46 (eighteen years ago)

five months pass...

Theismann done at ESPN! I don't get cable and I'm still happy at this news.

Leee, Thursday, 27 September 2007 19:33 (eighteen years ago)

without clicking the link this scares me because likewise i have no cable and he could easily wind up on broadcast television again. oh my god! what if he winds up at nbc doing notre dame games??? THE HORROR!!!!

chicago kevin, Thursday, 27 September 2007 19:39 (eighteen years ago)

The addition of Jaworski and subtraction of Theismann has been almost universally labeled a major improvement.

Roberto Spiralli, Thursday, 27 September 2007 19:40 (eighteen years ago)

Well it WAS

Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved, Thursday, 27 September 2007 19:48 (eighteen years ago)

almost = Joe's family (it got him out of the house)

Roberto Spiralli, Thursday, 27 September 2007 19:54 (eighteen years ago)

"The addition of Jaworski and subtraction of Theismann has been almost universally labeled a major improvement."

this reads like some Jim Starlin

El Tomboto, Thursday, 27 September 2007 20:12 (eighteen years ago)

The addition of Jaworski and subtraction of Theismann has been almost universally labeled a major improvement

Now if we can just get Kornheiser out of there...

like anybody watches those

hstencil, Thursday, 27 September 2007 21:40 (eighteen years ago)

dude, my tv is dying, i don't really get reception on abc anymore, i'm down to cbs and nbc.

chicago kevin, Thursday, 27 September 2007 21:50 (eighteen years ago)

and hey, i'm going to look at a place in noble square on saturday.

chicago kevin, Thursday, 27 September 2007 21:58 (eighteen years ago)

cbs has sec games, dude!!!!

noble square? i thought you were moving here? which you shouldn't, btw. new york sucks.

hstencil, Thursday, 27 September 2007 22:23 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, i've been watching sec.

place in noble square is a 6 month lease, i can't stay another winter in this illegal apartment without heat. not sure about new york right now. i want to go somewhere warm but i can't move to a red state. austin is a nice oasis but it's still in the middle of texas. maybe asheville, nc? i've got a ton of friends in pdx but i dunno.

i dunno about anything right now. best thing that could happen would be i lose my passport when i'm in europe this winter and i stay in belgium or sweden or spain or something.

chicago kevin, Thursday, 27 September 2007 23:09 (eighteen years ago)

nc is a red state too dude.

you're going to europe?

hstencil, Friday, 28 September 2007 00:04 (eighteen years ago)

yeah but asheville is cool. "tour managing" in february for a couple weeks. there's no place warm on the east coast with a major metropolitan area in a blue state. new york would have been nice as it's nearer my family and stuff. i think the important thing is that i get out of chicago.

chicago kevin, Friday, 28 September 2007 01:47 (eighteen years ago)

Tombot Starlin reference OTM

forksclovetofu, Friday, 28 September 2007 15:18 (eighteen years ago)

i like asheville, but hippie content is high. lot of music and minor league baseball, though!

j.q higgins, Friday, 28 September 2007 15:32 (eighteen years ago)

ashville, boulder, burlington etc not recommended

jhøshea, Friday, 28 September 2007 15:33 (eighteen years ago)

i like asheville, but hippie content is high.

dang, that was kind of why pdx was crossed off the list. memphis is looking good except there's no football. but great music, living is cheap, minor league baseball, nba, major college ball...

chicago kevin, Friday, 28 September 2007 23:24 (eighteen years ago)

Memphis is gross. I'd take Nashville over it 10 times out of 10.

Johnny Fever, Saturday, 29 September 2007 17:19 (eighteen years ago)

that's because you're an idiot paul. no offense.

nashville is everything that's wrong with america. memphis is a nightmare but so fucking fun.

chicago kevin, Saturday, 29 September 2007 17:27 (eighteen years ago)

nashville isn't THAT bad.

El Tomboto, Saturday, 29 September 2007 17:48 (eighteen years ago)

It was just comparitive. I'll probably never live in Nashville again, but given the choice between it and Memphis...

Johnny Fever, Saturday, 29 September 2007 17:52 (eighteen years ago)

If you're already looking in the south anyway, you should live in Atlanta or Charlotte.

Johnny Fever, Saturday, 29 September 2007 17:53 (eighteen years ago)

if i moved to atlanta i'd be dead of a drug overdose within 4 months. i know a lot of people there and 80% have huge personal problems. fuck i wish chicago didn't have such a long brutal winter because i really do love it here. except for the 10 months out of the year where the weather makes it unbearable.

chicago kevin, Saturday, 29 September 2007 18:16 (eighteen years ago)

oh for christ sake ck. dude it's been the greatest fall ever weatherwise.

yeah it's hot and cold BUT IT'S HOT AND COLD. live in SD if you want 72 everyday.

brownie, Sunday, 30 September 2007 03:49 (eighteen years ago)

live in SD if you want 72 everyday.

i've actually been actively trying to get someone to leave san diego so i could move there. i moved halfway across the country to be with her once, moving halfway across the country to not be with her would just be creepy.

chicago kevin, Sunday, 30 September 2007 20:01 (eighteen years ago)

Asheville gets colder than a coal-miner's dick.

Pleasant Plains, Sunday, 30 September 2007 20:39 (eighteen years ago)

i doubt it gets colder than chicago. i'm sick of that 3 week stretch in january where the thermometer never hits double digits and there's a steady, constant 30 mph wind off the prairie.
