i'll start:

1. that onside kick in the pats/colts game last night. wtf were you thinking, bill?

2. That odd pass 10 yards beyond the line of scrimmage by Farve on the last play of the game in the Packers/Bengals game a couple of weeks ago.

wtf were you thinking, bill?

Maybe they were de-fribulating Bruschi?

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 15:18 (twenty years ago)

3. antwaan randle el attempting to lateral to hines ward versus the patriots several weeks ago, resulting in a fumble

yeah, that makes sense, give your outmatched defense an even tougher time, sure.

On Bizarro ILNFL, I'd be posting about Dick Vermeil losing the game instead of tying it with a field goal.

The Jets running THREE STRAIGHT PASSING PLAYS on second and goal on the Chargers 3 yard line.
Okay, I understand that you run the ball on the first play to start the clock and to scope the defense, but DUDE: you gain one yard per run on each play and you get a touchdown. YOU HAVE CURTIS FUCKING MARTIN.
The Jets drive me crazy and Herm is on his way to another team next year.

Amen.

This tendency is maddening, and it's one of the things TMQ is right about: if you must the ball, playfake or roll out, but fertheluvvagod don't drop back and pass at the goal line.

SF Head coach Mike Nolan saying "Go for It!" to trying a 52 yard field goal into gale force winds and then having it come up short and returned for a 108 yard TD. This is after the Bears had had a field goal attempt earlier in the day blown completely off the field.

In Nolan's defense, Nedney I MEAN GODNEY consecutively punch a 30 and a 31 yarder, which added up is way more than 52!! And for the first 40+ yards of the kick, it was going in.

That said, I was already hiding my head when he sent the FG unit out there.

two weeks pass...
BILL COWHER!!!

Stormy Davis (diamond), Tuesday, 29 November 2005 05:15 (nineteen years ago)

For the sake of future generations, I assume that Mr. Davis refers to the poorly executed onside kick with which the overmatched Steelers opened the second half against the Indianapolis Juggernauts.

But if it had worked he would have been a genius.

Cowher running his QB just back with injuries to both knees on a called draw on 4th and 4 is also not too bright.

Cowher joins Bill Belicheck and Jeff Fisher in Superbowl coaches trying a desperation on-side kick against the Colts to begin the second half.

Cowher running his QB just back with injuries to both knees on a called draw on 4th and 4 against a defense which wasn't letting his TAILBACKS get through is also not too bright
