watching rod woodson break down how to work cover two and nickel schemes against the pats just gave me a bold, fearless american football brain boner like I haven't had in probably months

you really have to love the fact that a couple of ball carriers and a bunch of non "skill" players go on every night and hardson every other quarterbackarama NFL analysis show like it was no thang. fuck some pitchers, give me a dude who worked for a living when he was in the game and has to still work for a living to stay on air.

right now I am actually angry that dan marino still gets paid by anyone
― El Tomboto, Friday, 11 January 2008 07:40 (seventeen years ago)
do ron jaworski/meril hoge fit into this category?
― J0rdan S., Friday, 11 January 2008 12:03 (seventeen years ago)
id imagine?
i was gonna start a thread about their awesome show but didn't for fear of a major hardson
― J0rdan S., Friday, 11 January 2008 12:04 (seventeen years ago)
oh shit well they are quaterbacks, but they're def a cut above fucking boomer esiason or w/e
― J0rdan S., Friday, 11 January 2008 12:05 (seventeen years ago)
this just in: merril hoge, not a qb
― J0rdan S., Friday, 11 January 2008 12:06 (seventeen years ago)
anyway total access show is good. def take advantage of nfl network when @ parents house
― J0rdan S., Friday, 11 January 2008 12:07 (seventeen years ago)
"major hardson"
apropos of nothing, i am reminded that i forgot to mention how much brad childress looks like major dad.

I listen to Steve Young on the radio a lot. He is way, way more interesting on the radio because they actually let him break down offense and defense. I wonder what Marino would be like if he wasn't so scripted. It's almost impossible to be insightful when they only give you one or two sentences to work with.

I don't get NFLNetwork. I agree, though, that Marino sucks. I learn something new from Jaworski, though, every time I watch him.
Ive never liked Young on ESPN. And Emmit Smith, jeez, stick to dancing.

I like Jaws, Hoge a little less so. Really wish I got NFL.

I get the Fox Sports channel out of Pittsburgh. There's nothing more fun than watching Tunch Ilkin breakdown blocking and defensive schemes for the Stillers. It's like a little mini-seminar. So much better than the brain dead babbling you get from ESPN.

jaws and young do occasionally get to spout some knowledge but not like faulk/dukes/baldinger/woodson are apt to do on a regular basis on TA. Eisenschefter Awesome Show Great Job
― El Tomboto, Saturday, 12 January 2008 00:05 (seventeen years ago)
nigga that was the first fucken useful/interesting analysis woodson's presented in his entire fucken stint on the nfln, dude's just a babbling lump of driftwood 99% of the time
(i saw this btw, and it was pretty awesome - mooch does the same thing every week tho!)
― cankles, Saturday, 12 January 2008 05:45 (seventeen years ago)
deion's actually been one of the most consistently engaging analysts as far as breaking down technique and strategy - he doesnt fuck around, when he's actually analyzing and not, like, being deion~
also, mike mayock and charles davis are fucking awesome. i watched all the shitty bowl games they aired on nfln just to hear them drop science on niggaz
― cankles, Saturday, 12 January 2008 05:48 (seventeen years ago)
qb's do sukk tho ya
actually, boomer is a REALLY REALLY good color guy on the radio (he does MNF with marv albert, lolol)
― cankles, Saturday, 12 January 2008 05:49 (seventeen years ago)
i just want to say: TUNCH ILKIN!
