i just hope this leads to him becoming disheveled and growing out that beard to freeway/rick ross levels

J0rdan S., Monday, 14 January 2008 15:22 (seventeen years ago)

i see this ending with him brandishing a pistol at the super bowl and him raving semi-coherently about how he's better than randy moss.

chicago kevin, Monday, 14 January 2008 15:59 (seventeen years ago)

i like it better if t.o. teams up with peyton and they go on a road trip to kidnap brady/moss and secretly play in their places.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Monday, 14 January 2008 19:44 (seventeen years ago)

oh man, giants, please please PLEASE beat green bay if only so i have the distinct pleasure of seeing manning in an uncomfortable interview while both brady and HIS LITTLE BROTHER are playing in the super bowl.

please make this happen.

chicago kevin, Monday, 14 January 2008 19:46 (seventeen years ago)

that is a tremendous scenario - i cant decided between it and crushing the dreams of sportscasters everywhere by causing bret favre to have no fun in the superbowl

jhøshea, Monday, 14 January 2008 19:50 (seventeen years ago)

i'm imagining some sportsdouche asking a typically lame-assed question like "so peyton, how much would you like to be out there competing today?" and watch him try to shove the urge to murder the guy into the very deepest recess of himself. with any luck the sportsdouche would keep on asking shit like that and peyton would sit there seething.

Cowboys performance Sunday was one of the more gutless of all time. Do TO and Crayton put Crisco on their hands before games?

steely dan needs to write a song about tony romo's mexican vacation and how lust and tequila cost him the big game. something in the vein of 'glamour profession'.

Book Description
Young children will learn an important and valuable lesson about sharing through this wonderfully illustrated and fun book written by NFL star Terrell Owens. Little T is a boy who doesn't want to share his new football; he is afraid that his friends might mess it up. When he tries to play by himself, however, he realizes that football isn't any fun alone. Thanks to his mother's good advice, he wins back his friends, and learns the virtue of sharing and the importance of being fair.

lol waggoner (am0n), Wednesday, 26 October 2011 15:52 (fourteen years ago)

that's nuts, I'd think the Bears at least would want to take a look, as they're a fringe playoff team that could really use a good WR, and TO can likely be had for very cheap. I doubt he's going to "destroy the team" as so many analysts put it, as he's older now and knows he can't be the center of attention anymore. why not give it a shot??

frogbs, Wednesday, 26 October 2011 16:03 (fourteen years ago)

From what I read Owens didn't look very good in his workout. He's an old WR coming off a major surgery.

polyphonic, Wednesday, 26 October 2011 16:58 (fourteen years ago)

that makes more sense. i wouldn't think the "clubhouse cancer" junk would really be the reason why a fringe contender wouldn't sign him.

frogbs, Wednesday, 26 October 2011 18:15 (fourteen years ago)

i don't think there's any better indication that you're not wanted in the nfl than a career arch that goes philly -> dallas -> buffalo -> cincy

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 26 October 2011 18:34 (fourteen years ago)

lol i forgot he played in dallas

polyphonic, Wednesday, 26 October 2011 19:35 (fourteen years ago)

him going to the Bills was a big deal, but IIRC he did almost nothing there

still, he's a surefire HOF'er (in my opinion). I guess I can't really name any WR's that were any good in their mid-to-late-30's. (sadly my beloved Donny Driver is going to fall into this category)

frogbs, Wednesday, 26 October 2011 19:56 (fourteen years ago)

He will be an interesting case, for sure. Rare case of a guy who is disliked by both the media AND his fellow players, but he was a great receiver who also played hard and blocked and finished plays, unlike Randy Moss.

polyphonic, Wednesday, 26 October 2011 20:02 (fourteen years ago)

i think with his numbers it'll be real hard not to put him in.

according to SCHEF, Owens would be the oldest receiver in the league.

this was not his fault, we had a non-functional offense (basically did not have an offensive line, for example.)

horseshoe, Wednesday, 26 October 2011 22:46 (fourteen years ago)

It's hard to sign on in the middle of the season in general. I think he signs on somewhere next year.

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 26 October 2011 22:57 (fourteen years ago)

he was on his best behavior in cincy and buffalo wasn't he? And he produced.

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 26 October 2011 22:59 (fourteen years ago)

he was certainly subdued. he did give a (totally otm) press conference where he trashed the bills' offensive performance and complained about not getting the ball, but it was jut the once iirc. he didn't really produce anything like his previous numbers here but seriously, trent edwards got sacked more than he attempted passes.

horseshoe, Wednesday, 26 October 2011 23:02 (fourteen years ago)

didn't he have a great game against the browns as a bill?

brownie, Wednesday, 26 October 2011 23:21 (fourteen years ago)

after checking the box scores- no, i guess he didn't.
