BLOUNT tha ATL is going down! Lions over Falcs on turkey day. Book it. Lions always come up big on Thanksgiving. Just like last year when Peyton Manning chucked 6 TD passes. Lions pride!

If Minnesota beats Cleveland, I will start to believe that the season can be salvaged.

Dan (They Will Still Crush My Dreams, Though) Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 23 November 2005 14:47 (twenty years ago)

I don't think it'd be remotely surprising if they did at this point.

d4niel coh3n (dayan), Wednesday, 23 November 2005 14:56 (twenty years ago)

I picked Dallas to upset Denver. I really have no idea why I did that to be honest.

Allyzay must fight Zolton herself. (allyzay), Wednesday, 23 November 2005 15:00 (twenty years ago)

I don't think Pitt or Cinci will get over their Indy pummeling. Look for the Browns to run away with the division.

BROWNS 100
MINNESOTA 5

laurence kansas (lawrence kansas), Wednesday, 23 November 2005 15:05 (twenty years ago)

That's a bold prediction, sir.

Allyzay must fight Zolton herself. (allyzay), Wednesday, 23 November 2005 17:49 (twenty years ago)

It's all I have, in this world.

laurence kansas (lawrence kansas), Wednesday, 23 November 2005 18:06 (twenty years ago)

i really go into each week assuming chicago and minnesota will lose. what will happen when they meet again??

gear (gear), Wednesday, 23 November 2005 18:27 (twenty years ago)

I'd say a tie but Chicago will win that, easily.

Allyzay must fight Zolton herself. (allyzay), Wednesday, 23 November 2005 18:31 (twenty years ago)

I keep waiting for the Bears to collapse and release me from this fever dream. Mr. Harrington, send me an angel.

Fuck. Missed it.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Friday, 25 November 2005 01:28 (nineteen years ago)

forget what i said about the bears being the padres of the NFL, i think that title goes to the patriots this year.

gear (gear), Sunday, 27 November 2005 21:07 (nineteen years ago)

OMG RAMS! I came very close to losing a ton of pointage to a Houston win in my pool, so this week the Rams are my favorite team in the whole world!

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Sunday, 27 November 2005 21:49 (nineteen years ago)

The Giants' O-line is a bit wound up... I've lost count of the number of false starts. Eleven penalties in the first half... Coughlin's going to pull someone's liver out with his fingernails at halftime.

I do feel guilty for getting any perverse amusement out of it (Rock Hardy), Sunday, 27 November 2005 22:34 (nineteen years ago)

Things I noticed from watching football today...

Chris Simms again played pretty well for Tampa in a loss, other than giving up a fumble. He took some serious licks from the Bear defense, but kept coming back. The guy has a serious arm.

Eli Manning looked good. It is going to be scary if he starts hitting on a few more of those home run passes. I like that the Giants are try to air it out vertical quite a bit. Plaxico Burriss is so much taller than most of these dbs that it seems like somewhat of a safe pass.

Jay Feeley...GOATMAN!!! I know one was from 53 and another from 45, but missing three field goals to win?

I didn't see the game, but the Viks win again? I found that one hard to believe. Cleveland had been playing pretty well of late, especially running the ball and with defense.

Hands up who would like to see this years Bears defense play the Colts, Bengals or Chargers' offense? I'd really love to see how they would stack up against the three high powered offenses from the AFC. Denver scores a lot of points, but they are ground control, the other three both air it out and run the ball.

Seattle gets loud! That Colts game in a few weeks should be pretty crazy.

Other than Jurevicus, the Seahawks still don't have a reciever worth a crap. It is either that or Hasselbeck is the problem, but considering how many drops I have seen Seattle have over the past couple of years, I still give the QB the benefit of the doubt.

I was flipping back and watching a bit of the Bengals game between breaks of the Bears, as they are not on as often around here. Cinci was up 34 to zip and then went into auto pilot or something, as I think Bmore had three TDs in what seemed like five minutes. I don't know what that was about, but it cannot be that good when Kyle Boller rings up the scoreboard.

I also want all of these broadcasters that keep talking about Jonathan Ogden like he is allworld ALLPRO to actually watch him play these days for the Ravens. Ogden is still huge, but he isn't really that great anymore. Fast defensive ends eat him up and criminy the Ravens cannot run for crap anymore, let alone their putrid passing game.

Earl Nash (earlnash), Monday, 28 November 2005 02:07 (nineteen years ago)

did the Chief really end up kicking 4 field goals in one quarter? how the hell did that happen.

Simms does indeed look pretty good, but if he wants to win consistently in this league he might want to protect the football on his own one yard line. Garbage win for the Bear really, despite the fact that, yes, the defense continues to play outstanding football...

What I did on my Thanksgiving vacation: see my Leos get thoroughly embarassed on national TV. oh well, at least I finally got to see Michael Vick play live. That was a thrill. Mariah Carey sucked colossally. How come we got her instead of Sheryl Crow? Damn, that ends a streak of three really great halftimes in Motown. Then A&M blows a great chance to upset the Longhorns, that sucked too. At least I finally got to see Friday Night Lights, the best football movie I've seen.

HAhaha holy shit --- Flava Flav in a Bud Light commercial just now on SNF .. busting out a "yeaaah boyee"!! too fucking great...

Stormy Davis (diamond), Monday, 28 November 2005 04:22 (nineteen years ago)

Fuck a bunch of A&M. I root for any opponent they face.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Monday, 28 November 2005 04:38 (nineteen years ago)

BROWNS 100
MINNESOTA 5

HAW HAW

Dan (HAW) Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 28 November 2005 13:06 (nineteen years ago)

I'm beginning to think the Browns may not win the Super Bowl this year.

The Lions deserved to lose with those black jerseys.

laurence kansas (lawrence kansas), Monday, 28 November 2005 13:45 (nineteen years ago)

Were Tom and I the only people who couldn't see about half of the "false starts" during the Seattle-NYG game? Not just the Giants but a couple of the ones called on Seattle too. PHANTOM MENACE. Inexplicable.

Allyzay must fight Zolton herself. (allyzay), Monday, 28 November 2005 15:56 (nineteen years ago)

I kept turning off the Giants game thinking they had it won. I was like Jeremy Shockey for a day and I learned to love it.

laurence kansas (lawrence kansas), Monday, 28 November 2005 16:46 (nineteen years ago)

I really can't figure out how they didn't win it. Also it reminded me that Holmgren is kind of a douche.

Allyzay must fight Zolton herself. (allyzay), Monday, 28 November 2005 17:29 (nineteen years ago)

mariucci fired, according to ap.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 28 November 2005 18:05 (nineteen years ago)

hmm i wonder if he ends up at michigan state

j blount (papa la bas), Monday, 28 November 2005 18:27 (nineteen years ago)

i'm still wondering how callahan got hired at nebraska!

though of course mariucci is a better coach.

gear (gear), Monday, 28 November 2005 18:51 (nineteen years ago)

They can blame the Mariucci, but I'd put more blame on Millen and that guy has been skating in that job for a longer period of time. Everyone wants to put the onus of failure on Joey Harrington, but really all of those recievers they have drafted have been just as much a bust and their defense isn't really good at anything in particular either.

Shock...another 49er coach with supposed greatness goes down in flames with another team. George Siefert must be feeling better about that 1-15 year in Carolina.

Holmgren is another coach I think was greatly overrated when he was with Green Bay.

earlnash, Monday, 28 November 2005 18:57 (nineteen years ago)

roy williams ain't no bust!

j blount (papa la bas), Monday, 28 November 2005 19:36 (nineteen years ago)

millan/mooch is mchale/flip saunders all over again....wrong dude fired.

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Monday, 28 November 2005 19:45 (nineteen years ago)

altho I kinda hope millan keeps his job foreever cuz the lions are in our division, plus if he's a GM i'll never have to hear him as a football commentator again..he made me want to Alex in NYC stylee my eardrums.

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Monday, 28 November 2005 19:46 (nineteen years ago)

Roy Williams has played a bit more and better than I thought. I figured he had missed more than five games in the past two years.

Charles Rogers has been a big bust and so far Mike Williams has been nowhere near as good as the scouts said he would be when he left USC. I suppose Mike Williams missing that year of football probably didn't help.
