we do not thank the football god enough for football.
this week has seriously been such a shitstorm of shitty stupid shit.
cowboys - packers baby. go motherfucking packers.

I am considering buying a team polo for every team the cowboys play this year, so I can wear it to the office on friday, and yell at the dallas fans. except fuck also the redskins ("jacksonville big negroes! how about that?") and in addition fuck the Houston Victims plus fuck the Nashville Excuses but ehhh really nevermind I'm just rambling now

Thank you football god, for football.

I also have missed TOTAL ACCESS very much now that I do not have cable and cannot watch it in the office in blatant violation of the projector screen satellite office rules. It is basically a bunch of different tough guys slapping each other and making jokes in between scratching their own balls in an articulate manner. That is good teevee if you ask me.

I should go to bed.

Does Hank Williams Jr. still do the Monday Night Football theme? Man, that song PUMPS ME UP!

Z S, Saturday, 20 September 2008 05:05 (seventeen years ago)

I just keep getting that "every day is my sunday" tune stuck in my head

it's "every day is like sunday," you crazy person. go to sleep!

horseshoe, Saturday, 20 September 2008 05:09 (seventeen years ago)

Greatest television moment in history - John Tesh performing the NBA on NBC theme song (which he composed), LIVE on David Letterman, using a Keytar. I know this is an NFL thread, but damn, that got everyone pumped up.

Z S, Saturday, 20 September 2008 05:10 (seventeen years ago)

are you kidding? I've been hearing it wrong all this time? well, maybe I am just better at writing lyrics in my head with my imagination than that guy is. therefore, my version stands.

El Tomboto, Saturday, 20 September 2008 05:10 (seventeen years ago)

see if it's "every day is my sunday," then I think, that is a really lucky person, taking time out of his sunday to sing that to me. if it's "every day is like sunday," then that is just some hippy dippy bullshit, get a job.

El Tomboto, Saturday, 20 September 2008 05:15 (seventeen years ago)

"Purple Haze" lyrics are actually "scuse me while I sack this guy."

TRUTH. This is the closest I could find. His answering machine message to himself is revelatory.

Entirely on the basis of the early games this sunday I am reviving this thread. I love this ridiculous, ludicrous, nonsensical absurdity of a sport.

And I am also really glad I am not a betting man.

I wish I wasn't a betting man. Thanks Washington.

I wish all my dreams tonight could just be that OT punt block on loop.

El Tomboto, Monday, 13 October 2008 01:21 (seventeen years ago)

i've never seen a block like that. it was like he was racing the snap to the punter.

j.q higgins, Monday, 13 October 2008 01:36 (seventeen years ago)

I know! I only got the highlights on NFL network and I'm completely dumbfounded as to how the two of them got to the ball so fast..

El Tomboto, Monday, 13 October 2008 02:17 (seventeen years ago)

I would also like to say that even though 1/3rd of the talking heads happen to be the kind of analyst who will spout from time to time such pearls that can be summed up as "with oxygen, the mammal is a different kind of competitor than without oxygen; without oxygen, I don't like this organism," NFL Gameday Final is basically unmatched by any other programming on what we in the early 21st century call the teevee.

DID YOU SEE DAVID GARRARD'S POSTGAME PRESS CONFERENCE OUTFIT?

El Tomboto, Monday, 13 October 2008 04:07 (seventeen years ago)

hey football gods, thank you for Philadelphia's 23-point 4th quarter than won me slightly over 20 (twenty) american "dollars". if Denver had covered the spread too instead of revealing themselves to be the paper tiger (horse?) i knew in my they are then i might even have forgiven you for what you did to Mr. Brady, you spiteful fucking bastards.
