CHI @ DET bears because detroit is hopeless
ATL @ GB packers
SD @ MIA i was thinking of saying san diego but quite frankly they barely beat the RAIDERS so i'm actually going to agree with dolphins "upset"

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Tuesday, 30 September 2008 15:25 (seventeen years ago)

lol yes i think we had similar lines of thinking for those first three picks.

What's good for Wall Street (call all destroyer), Tuesday, 30 September 2008 15:27 (seventeen years ago)

CHI @ DET -- NO ONE WINS (except Orton's beard)
ATL @ GB -- Aaron Rodgers: 83 TDs
SD @ MIA -- Kind of feeling that a fins upset will not happen in any conceivable way (which of course means MIA by six scores)

WAS @ PHI -- GAME OF THE WEEK; McNabb will transubstantiate and lose on a Buckhalter fumble
KC @ CAR -- NO ONE WINS (except KC trainer)

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Tuesday, 30 September 2008 15:39 (seventeen years ago)

My understanding (which may be untrue) is that the people of Carolina don't totally grasp the Panthers, or the Hurricanes, or pro sports in general.

What's good for Wall Street (call all destroyer), Tuesday, 30 September 2008 15:47 (seventeen years ago)

It's still really hard for me to accept the Carolina Panthers as a proper NFL team. There's just something so ... arenafootball2 about them.

☑ (Pleasant Plains), Tuesday, 30 September 2008 16:01 (seventeen years ago)

Like they would've worked perfectly as one of the made-up teams in Any Given Sunday.

PACINO: "I'm gonna go coach for this new expansion team in Charlotte! The Panthers! ROWAR!"

☑ (Pleasant Plains), Tuesday, 30 September 2008 16:03 (seventeen years ago)

wait there are reports that Al Davis is interviewing replacements WHILE KIFFIN IS STILL HEAD COACH

David R., Tuesday, 30 September 2008 16:10 (seventeen years ago)

well of course he is

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Tuesday, 30 September 2008 16:15 (seventeen years ago)

i still hold he will not fire lane kiffin because he's realized that it is far crueler to kiffin to keep him on staff.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Tuesday, 30 September 2008 16:16 (seventeen years ago)

man the eagles looked like shit last week but i don't think the skins are ready to win 2 nfc east road games in a row

remember how bad they looked against the giants, who have a worse D than the eagles probably but a way way way better D than the cowboys

poetry unit (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 30 September 2008 16:17 (seventeen years ago)

this is why our man should continue to call for 76 yd field goals

poetry unit (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 30 September 2008 16:17 (seventeen years ago)

He shd just forego punting, go for it on every 4th down and run a fleaflicker at least once every series.

David R., Tuesday, 30 September 2008 16:20 (seventeen years ago)

It's like a game of chicken, but only Nnamdi Asomugha loses.

I AM STRAIGHT UP CLAIMING IT, WEEK 5 BOLD CLAM: THE COWBOYS ARE CLOWNS.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Tuesday, 30 September 2008 16:22 (seventeen years ago)

u all need to start adding LK@AD to the list of games every week and predict who will win... 76-yd field goal attempt vs. interview candidates while u still coach--best game in the nfl!!

Barack HUSSEIN Obama (max), Tuesday, 30 September 2008 16:38 (seventeen years ago)

remember how bad they looked against the giants, who have a worse D than the eagles probably but a way way way better D than the cowboys

depends on how beat up the eagles are. it sucks for them that now mcnabb is finally healthy the rest of their franchise dudes all get facebutt contusions

TOMBOT, Tuesday, 30 September 2008 16:48 (seventeen years ago)

I AM STRAIGHT UP CLAIMING IT, WEEK 5 BOLD CLAM: THE COWBOYS ARE CLOWNS.

This is probably OTM in that they're the same team as last year and I fully expect a first-round playoff exit.

Westbrook due back in for Philly will be a big boost. i didn't watch all of the game but the two times i did turn on Buckhalter dropped a pass and then got stopped on the goal line.

i like the Eagles for the Redskins game but - i think i said something similar in the week 4 thread - i think the Giants game was mostly teething troubles for the Redskins' O. Zorn is looking quite so startled by everything anymore and he and Campbell look like they're reached the same wavelength.

that division is going to be fuckin crazy. they'll all end up with the same record. under NFL rules, should this situation occur, each team has to choose a 'champion' and they fight to the death with flick knives.

Kiffin also opposed some of Davis' big free-agent signings such as wide receiver Javon Walker and, to a lesser degree, cornerback DeAngelo Hall, sources said. Kiffin also expressed public frustration that the team was not more aggressive in claiming other team's released players via the waiver process to strengthen the bottom of the roster.

However, a Raiders source said that Davis privately sent a letter to Kiffin after the season's opening-game loss to the Broncos, attempting to "document" that the coach approved of the offseason acquisitions. A source close to Kiffin described that claim as "fiction."

claudia schefter (daria-g), Tuesday, 7 October 2008 03:40 (seventeen years ago)

ok so we've all been here dissing these teams as being horrible all game (i mean 2 punt returns for a td? the field goal block?) but MAYBE these guys are actually playing AMAZING. maybe this is the next level. running your dudes into each other in the end zone so one of them has to have the ball somehow.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Tuesday, 7 October 2008 03:41 (seventeen years ago)

i mean, guys? for real? that field goal block? what the fuck was that guy even doing back there that he caught the ball? where was he going to begin with?
