David R., Wednesday, 1 October 2008 17:49 (seventeen years ago)

omg David R hit upon what I was thinking when I was walking home today from "work".

Underground Fathead production. First up:

Al Davis

When the market is down it's time to buy into fatheads.

brownie, Thursday, 2 October 2008 01:02 (seventeen years ago)

I'll need a material, something cheap and synthetic.

Maybe what the Panthers unis are made of?

brownie, Thursday, 2 October 2008 01:08 (seventeen years ago)

btw the real answer to this question is I bought the 1979 Strat-o-Matic computer season.

The very last season of my youth, right before I became a man.

First up on the schedule, the New York Jets with Richard Todd, Bobby "Lam" Jones, Derrick Gaffney, Wesley Walker, Jerome Barkum and Marty (Sack Attack) Lyons in his rookie year.

brownie, Thursday, 2 October 2008 01:47 (seventeen years ago)

Sipe leads the Browns to a 6 minute TD drive. Joe Klecko! is a non factor. BUT Don Cockroft misses the extra point.

Jets get the ball, first play from scrimmage, Richard Todd to Lam Jones for a TD! I was keying on Scott Dierking (The RB). Who?

what will happen next

?????????????

brownie, Thursday, 2 October 2008 02:06 (seventeen years ago)

jesus, missed xpoint by the Jets but Lam Jones is killing me.

13-6 Jets so far.

the Pruitt brothers are a non factor stop need to establish ground game stop reggie rucker out with strained hamstring stop

brownie, Thursday, 2 October 2008 02:18 (seventeen years ago)

Is this Strat-o-matic fun downloadable?

David R., Thursday, 2 October 2008 02:20 (seventeen years ago)

Sipe with the QB sneak TD!

Ozzie Newsome had some key receptions on that drive.

13-13

brownie, Thursday, 2 October 2008 02:22 (seventeen years ago)

David R, Strat means money. no

brownie, Thursday, 2 October 2008 02:22 (seventeen years ago)

The way it works, you buy the CD which is all the (lame) graphics then buy the seasons (individually) which are activated via a code over the internets.

It's like several brunches but with the Pruitt brothers!

Turnover!

Browns up 20-13 in this first half shootout.

brownie, Thursday, 2 October 2008 02:29 (seventeen years ago)

oh christ it's 1979 so I missed the xtra point

19-13

brownie, Thursday, 2 October 2008 02:30 (seventeen years ago)

Abdul Salaam! where have you gone

20-19! Jets kill with the long passing game and then run the ball dowm my throat. I'm on my heels!

brownie, Thursday, 2 October 2008 02:40 (seventeen years ago)

NEWSOME TD. and an xrtapoint!

can I stop R. Todd?

26-20.

brownie, Thursday, 2 October 2008 02:47 (seventeen years ago)

jesus, jets running game is killing me! 6:50 left in the game, Jets on their own 40, 2nd and 7, down 26-20. They've been running the ball but I'm scared to let Lam Lones go free.

Decision:

stop pass

4:50 left and it's time to let the Pruitt brothers work their magic.

OR IS IT?????????????

brownie, Thursday, 2 October 2008 03:03 (seventeen years ago)

as I masturbate gently into this good night R Todd takes over with 1:30 left on his own 30 with no timeouts left

brownie, Thursday, 2 October 2008 03:09 (seventeen years ago)

Todd throws an interception from the Browns 30 on the last play on the game. self pleasure over.

see you in two weeks.

brownie, Thursday, 2 October 2008 03:13 (seventeen years ago)

next up the KC Chiefs.

Notable Chiefs include the great receiver JT Smith and defensive end Art Still.

Chiefs QB is the erratic Mike Livingston.

Even as late as 1979 the FB was leading ground gainer for many teams- the Browns had FB Mike Pruitt (1300 yards) and the Chiefs had Ted McKnight (FB 750 yards).

brownie, Saturday, 4 October 2008 01:54 (seventeen years ago)

20-20 with 6 mintes left. Chiefs ball. Kardiac Kids need a stop.

brownie, Saturday, 4 October 2008 02:37 (seventeen years ago)

Got the stop! Browns drive to the Chiefs 7 and Sipe throws an interception with 2 minutes left! RED RIGHT 88 FORESHADOWED

brownie, Saturday, 4 October 2008 02:43 (seventeen years ago)

Chiefs are stopped but for christ sake dino hall fumbles the chiefs punt with 37 seconds left and Jan Stenerud kicks a 45 yarder to win

brownie, Saturday, 4 October 2008 02:49 (seventeen years ago)

it never ends

brownie, Saturday, 4 October 2008 03:02 (seventeen years ago)

btw in surrogate to the lady friend, it is highly disappointing, this lack of a throwbak wimmin's kosar jersey from the internet. if anybody can find a way to acquire such a device, I would be greatful

El Tomboto, Saturday, 4 October 2008 06:50 (seventeen years ago)

it has to be a womans jersey?

http://store.luvsports.com/bekoaubrje.html

brownie, Saturday, 4 October 2008 16:07 (seventeen years ago)

I'd figure that "wimmin's kosar jersey" is like saying "long-sleeved jacket" or "open-toed sandals".

☑ (Pleasant Plains), Saturday, 4 October 2008 17:05 (seventeen years ago)

she could get the men's jersey and belt it if she wants a little shape!

Bernie 4eva.

Browns Vs Colts

Won't bore u with the play by play but damn Joe Washington had 800 yards rushing and 80 catches out of the backfield in 1979. Browns win 17-10. Notable Colts include ex-Lion QB Greg Landry who started but was replaced by the computer in the 4th quarter by Bert Jones. Colts had an outside linebacker by the name of Sanders Shiver and a kick returner by the name of Nesby Glasgow (who was later implicated in the Hounds of the Baskerville mystery).

brownie, Sunday, 5 October 2008 04:37 (seventeen years ago)

Next up the Dallas Cowboys. Staubach, Dorsett, Preston and Drew Pearson, Tony Hill, Billy Joe Dupree and Robert Newhouse on offense. They finished 11-5 in '79.

brownie, Sunday, 5 October 2008 04:51 (seventeen years ago)

Sipe throws two interceptions in the first quarter- Dallas converts a TD on one but Rapheal Septien misses the xtrapoint. Sure handed Newhouse fumbles in the 2nd quarter and a nice swing pass to Mike Pruitt gets the Browns a 7-6 lead early in the 2nd.

brownie, Sunday, 5 October 2008 05:10 (seventeen years ago)

Cowboys drive like they do, Browns get a big stop on the 5 yard line on third down. Field goal blocked! Browns recover and Sipe immediatley throws an interception and the Cowboys kick a field goal.

brownie, Sunday, 5 October 2008 05:20 (seventeen years ago)

Sipe is 5 out of 17 with 3 interceptions in the first half. But the Browns are only down 9-7. Ex-Cowboy Calvin Hill is having a nice first half for the Browns- 43 yards rushing backing up Greg Pruitt.

Keys to the game- stop Dorsett. Browns have a great free safety (Thom Darden) who can stop the long pass.

brownie, Sunday, 5 October 2008 05:33 (seventeen years ago)

brownie im pullin 4 u

a passion for posting (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 5 October 2008 05:36 (seventeen years ago)

;)

Game over, Browns lose 26-16 and Dorsett could not be stopped in the third quarter- finished with 106 yards rushing.

Sipe was 17 of 43! with 3 interceptions. That was the story. Browns are 2-2.

Next up, the first place Houston Oilers with the amok Earl Campbell.

'79 Super Bowl champs Steelers are in last place at 1-3. Bradshaw is looking bad.

brownie, Sunday, 5 October 2008 06:09 (seventeen years ago)

Notable Oilers on this team: Earl Campbell and Ken Burroughs on offense and Curly Culp, Elvin Bethea and Robert Brazaille on D.

Browns go up 3-0 in the first quarter and are down 6-3 at the half. After a disastrous 3rd quarter which saw two Sipe interceptions on flair passes and two fumbles the game ends with a blowout 37-3 Houston victory.

Sipe was awful and Campbell only had 92 yards rushing but the Oilers had 200 overall. BYU alum Gifford Nielson came in the 4th quarter to mop up. Dan Pastorini only completed 6 passes. Oilers D had 5 sacks and Browns FB Mike Pruitt was completely stuffed. Toni Fritsch kicked a 51 yard field goal for the Oilers while Don Crockroft missed two 35 yarders which turned out to be meaningless anyway.

Disheartening- next up, the 1-4 Steelers vs the 2-3 Browns.
