fuck no! they're talking about it right now; terrell davis was momentarily speechless. i guess he talked a lot of shit about kiffin?

asomugha says the players dug kiffin. al davis is like a cancer.

im sure this is blatantly obvious to everyone, probably even to al davis. none of the young guys remember davis' influence on the league + kiffin was like 33 and im sure beginning with this year he basically like talked shit all day about rob ryan (hardass who im sure lots of players don't particularly enjoy) and al davis

KIFFIN: "Now, say you're in need of a few points, maybe three, but time's running out on the clock and you're 76 yards away from the end zone. What would be a good way of getting those three points?"

HOST: "Why, I don't know! It seems like you'd try to kick a field goal anyway, but that's just crazy, right?"

At his own press conference today, Shanahan was asked about Davis, and he tried to make light of the situation.

“I was really disappointed, to be honest with you,” Shanahan said. “When you take a look at it, I was there 582 days. Lane Kiffin was there 616 days. So what it really means is that Al Davis liked Lane more than he liked me. And I really don’t think that’s fair. I won three more games, yet he got 34 more days of work. That just doesn’t seem right. Does it to you guys? No, really, think about it.”

After getting a chuckle from the media with that, Shanahan continued.

“I know the right thing to say. The thing I should have said is, ‘I haven’t had time to look at interviews and what really happened.’ But I think everybody saw the press conference. We’ll leave it at that.”

Does Shanahan have any advice for Kiffin on getting his money, a reporter asked, drawing laughs from his fellow journalists but not from Shanahan.

"Just take it out of his ass with interest every time you play him. Every. Goddamn. Time. From now until the skies darken and the seas boil. With interest.

Al Davis knows football -- it's just '60s and '70s football. That's what it is. He's thinking that Cliff Branch is outside and <Jim> Plunkett is dropping back and you can throw it 80 yards down the field -- deep ball, deep ball, deep ball.

-- Warren Sapp

Sapp even said that Davis would call in plays when Sapp was playing for the Raiders.
