what the hell was that sportscenter ad last night where jim kelly lost a bet to a mascot and then the mascot ate his hall of fame jacket?

i can't find any youtube evidence that i actually saw this ad on my television. man poor jim kelly, he cannot win ANYTHING amirite.

seriously did anyone else see this or was that a dream i had.

so glad i did not imagine that ad. it makes me sad that jim kelly doesn't even get to talk in it? it seemed very mean-spirited to me. also, kelly sporting a little beer belly. i like that in a former football player.

he just says "best 2 out of 3?" and then the mascot shakes his head and eats jim kelly's jacket. i have no idea what the hell was going on in it.

oh right. i wasn't even sure it was jim kelly at first because it had such a throwaway feel. he just looked like some dude.

i know, it took me like 5 seconds to be like "wait that is jim kelly"

i prefer my commercials bombastic/including that bearded pats fan, i.e. nfln commercials. none of this oblique shit.

although nfln has not really been bringing it this season, either. i don't like the "every day is like sunday" commercials as much as the "this is football" commercials from last season.

the best nfl network ad is the nfl replay one where they had a pile of players singing and dancing terribly in some cheerleadery busby berkeley production but god forbid you can find that clip anywhere ever because nfl keeps ripping it off youtube.

haha i like that "important things" are things like, for example, the fact that the commercial starts by warren sapp busting through a wall, kool-aid man style, at a group of bronco fans to yell "YOU SPENT ALL SUNDAY WATCHING GAMES ON THE TUBE????!"

then chad johnson ocho cinco sings "but you missed 85 and there's nothing you can do" and then the cheerleaders make ;_; faces and sing the exact same line as chad just did, as if you misunderstood him, somehow.

also the cheerleaders are not real cheerleaders, apparently, because they jump + cheer awkwardly.

i think they are just actresses. i don't think they are even strippers cos none of them were busty/fake-boob-y. they were all awkward dancers and just were there to mug at the camera.

nobody really distinguishes themselves dancing, it's true, but at least they all try, Shockey!

The best commercial ESPN did was the one where they were doing Y2K testing and everything goes haywire with mascots running for cover and Mark McGuire comes in with a neck tie tied around his head like RAMBO and is using a baseball bat to destroy computers. I think that is one of the funniest commercials ever, not just for ESPN.
