- fart in a player's face
- strangle a player to death
- sacrifice a player at midfield
- sacrifice himself at midfield
- banish the whole team to the locker room
- turn the locker room into a torture chamber and reenact saw
- light himself on fire
- light a player on fire
- chop off a finger to symbolize his dedication

as a huge fan of the saw franchise i have to take issue w/the idea that singletary is diabolical enough to pull any saw like action off

I think he's going to take a different tack for tonight's game and it's called a fundraising spaghetti dinner at halftime.

brownie, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 00:50 (seventeen years ago)

i bet u he does make "world famous" spaghetti sauce

myspace password secretary (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 00:51 (seventeen years ago)

Kornhole is admitting the only way he can sell this game is because of singletary

Every Day Jimmy Mod Is Hustlin' (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 01:39 (seventeen years ago)

T-PALIN (daria-g), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 01:41 (seventeen years ago)

T-PALIN (daria-g), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 01:41 (seventeen years ago)

only reason i an watching this game is because of singletary.. ok also not feeling that great due to drinking too much during last night's game!

but i will pretty much root for the 49ers over most of the league because of singletary.

T-PALIN (daria-g), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 01:46 (seventeen years ago)

wildcat w/ michael robinson seems like a good idea

johnny crunch, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 01:57 (seventeen years ago)

i am watching this game because of this damn thread.

horseshoe, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 02:00 (seventeen years ago)

ditka interviewed singletary before the game and there was much intensification.

horseshoe, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 02:01 (seventeen years ago)

kornheiser is like "who invented this wildcat thing?" and other announcer patiently explains it to him.. um.. isn't it kornheiser's JOB to sort of research this stuff?

T-PALIN (daria-g), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 02:04 (seventeen years ago)

hahaha...the vernon davis explosion.

j.q higgins, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 02:07 (seventeen years ago)

johnny crunch, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 02:08 (seventeen years ago)

"that gipper movie"? i can't stand notre dame and even I'M like, oh, no you didn't, tony!

j.q higgins, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 02:10 (seventeen years ago)

wild cat w/ michael robinson DOES seem like it has potential. wild cat w/ michael robinson on short yardage going up the middle? maybe not.

j.q higgins, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 02:11 (seventeen years ago)

he was wearing shorts!

xpost about pants-dropping

i saw this on sportscenter and ditka was TOTALLY enabling him by prefacing "questions" by saying shit like "I KNOW someone in that locker room needed to be disciplined"

Every Day Jimmy Mod Is Hustlin' (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 02:49 (seventeen years ago)

wau, that scramble. singletary had to appreciate. probably not so much the delay-of-game right after..

also, anquan boldin is great. i'm really glad those jets defenders didn't kill him

T-PALIN (daria-g), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 02:59 (seventeen years ago)

T-PALIN (daria-g), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 03:11 (seventeen years ago)

actually went to cards' message board and could find nothing except a bunch of posts from their own fans like "LOL RETARDINALS"

T-PALIN (daria-g), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 03:57 (seventeen years ago)

lol ERASE UR BACKFLIP RETARDINALS

johnny crunch, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 03:59 (seventeen years ago)

on that 3rd and goal, singletary was in a 3 point stance on sideline w/that look, ready to go out there and make the tackle himself

T-PALIN (daria-g), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 04:10 (seventeen years ago)

kornheiser incessantly with the meta talk about what kind of script the sportswriters are supposed to use for whatever story they're writing about this game. i'm always reading bob somerby @ daily howler going on rants about the idiotic novelizing by our political press corps that frequently departs from facts and reality.. it's like a virus. did it start with the sportswriters and move into politics or vice versa?

T-PALIN (daria-g), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 04:36 (seventeen years ago)

The home crowd is going to murder the refs, the way this is going...

schwantz, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 04:46 (seventeen years ago)

this has completely degenerated

T-PALIN (daria-g), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 04:48 (seventeen years ago)

lmbo

omar little, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 04:51 (seventeen years ago)

Time for the fifth-string QB...

schwantz, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 04:52 (seventeen years ago)

"future hof er eggerin james...? really...?"

I think it is possible. The guy has dropped 12k yards on the ground in ten years while missing a years worth of games because of injury and lead the NFL in rushing a couple of seasons. Edge is up around Dorsett, Marcus Allen, Thurman Thomas, Faulk etc already and those guys played for 12-15 years each and are all in the hall (except Faulk who is an automatic). James is only like 300 yards from passing Jim Brown, I think for a long time anyone that passes him on the career rushing leaders list is going to the hall unless they are some dork like Ricky Watters (who didn't pass Jim Brown, but he could be in the top 5 and I think no one would vote him into the HOF).

One mistake I think the Cardinals have done in using Edge is that they haven't really used him that much as a receiver. That guy was like a secret weapon for Manning out of the backfield for a few years.

You never know, Otis Anderson dropped a 1000 yard season and won a Superbowl with the Giants quite a few years after he was great as OJ Anderson for the Cardinals. Edge could have a bounce back year for the right club or maybe he is already washed up...hard to say quite yet.

earlnash, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 04:52 (seventeen years ago)

wtf WAS that last INT, really? the running back wasn't even looking at him!

T-PALIN (daria-g), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 04:53 (seventeen years ago)

johnny crunch, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 05:08 (seventeen years ago)

ok so yeah that surprised me

jordan s (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 05:17 (seventeen years ago)

guys, mike singletary, after the game:

on the play of Sean Hill:

"Sean Hill is a blue-collar guy; I like Sean."

on what he is going to tell the team to prepare for next week:

"I'm going to tell them, my heart is torn out."

horseshoe, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 05:31 (seventeen years ago)

man this press conference :(

myspace password secretary (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 05:32 (seventeen years ago)

i think he might cry

myspace password secretary (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 05:32 (seventeen years ago)

i kept thinking he was going to cry, too. his nose was all red. :(

horseshoe, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 05:35 (seventeen years ago)

guys emmitt smith just said about football that you "must bring your brain to the table"

myspace password secretary (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 05:36 (seventeen years ago)

fuck the reporter who got to ask the last question and made it about kurt warner's chances at the hall of fame or whatever the fuck. you could tell singletary just wanted to be like, are you fucking kidding me?

horseshoe, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 05:36 (seventeen years ago)

Singletary's on the fast-track to Vermiel style burnout after only two games.

I loved Singletary as a kid. The NFL film where they miked him is a masterpiece, as was his annihilation of Eric Dickerson in the '85 playoffs.

Bill Magill, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 16:07 (seventeen years ago)

lolol ice craem otm

i like singletary and all but tbh i think he's coming off as kind of a puss by passing the buck to davis and martz - i mean, really? that last run up the middle is martz's fault?

ಥ﹏ಥ (cankles), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 17:43 (seventeen years ago)

yeah i was surprised that he said that. not cool.

horseshoe, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 17:44 (seventeen years ago)

did you all see the pregame show where they played the "if you wanna crown em, then crown their asses!" press conference?

T-PALIN (daria-g), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 18:01 (seventeen years ago)

Guys you should listen to this excruciating interview with Singletary and the knucklehead morning show guys. It's the podcast:

http://www.knbr.com/morningshow/index.html

polyphonic, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 19:50 (seventeen years ago)

that last run up the middle is martz's fault?"

Martz probably called the play and considering some of the completely fuxored things that dingleberry did with the RAMs, I'm not surprised. Criminy he handed a Superbowl to the Pats by just not handing the ball off to Marshall Faulk. Ultimately the loss is hung next to Singletary's name in the record book, so he should be cognizant enough to call it off in that situation. I would guess that Samurai Mike will probably get a bit louder next time that kind of call comes up. Zorn kind of blew a similar call in game 1 and he was an offensive coordinator/QB, so it happens.

I loved the 80s Bears, Singletary included, but I have to admit being a bit torn with him coaching the ever hated 49ers.

earlnash, Wednesday, 12 November 2008 03:18 (seventeen years ago)

I love that Martz is blaming the refs now. What a weasel.
