"Minnesota Vikings: 11-5"
Come on Matt.
I agree with the 10-6 call on the Bears. Dolphins will be better than 8-8.

Oakland 0-32 (will predict the year after's record too as a bonus.)

we were 10-6 last year and we have a way easier schedule!

If it was anyone other than Al Davis, the NFL would have put in motion some sort of process to change ownership. I'm totally serious. From the resurrection of Art Shell, the handling of the Kiffin firing and now this draft, there is something seriously wrong here.
― Bill Magill, Tuesday, 28 April 2009 16:32 (sixteen years ago)
plus we pissed away what should have been a win against the falcons late with a zillion fumbles!

Bears and Packers will be better. Who's the qb, Spergeon Wynn? Norris Weems?
― Bill Magill, Tuesday, 28 April 2009 16:34 (sixteen years ago)
I just looked at your schedule. I would not describe it as easy. Both Baltimore,Pittsburgh and NYG out of the division.

the handling of the Kiffin firing
I have changed my mind about this after watching Kiffin be a complete douchebag in his new position.
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Tuesday, 28 April 2009 18:56 (sixteen years ago)
yeah kiffin seems like a clompfest
― Domm P))) (M@tt He1ges0n), Tuesday, 28 April 2009 19:09 (sixteen years ago)
I am with you. I was sympathetic with Kiffin until he got to Tennessee and revealed himself as an asshole. Did you happen to read the SI article about him where he boasted about firing office staff for committing unforgivable sins like picking him up 5 minutes late at the airport?
― Bill Magill, Tuesday, 28 April 2009 19:11 (sixteen years ago)
Lane flew back to Tennessee less than 48 hours after his son was born. He'd arranged to have someone fetch him at the airport, but the driver was 25 minutes late. "I came back and within five minutes I'd fired the guy who was in charge of the guy who'd been sent to pick me up," says Kiffin. "Here's the point: We need to win. That's 25 minutes that Nick Saban and Urban Meyer had that I lost because somebody was late picking me up at the airport."
Kiffin has shown no more sympathy for the rest of the support staff he inherited from Fulmer. "You can't count the number of people we've run off because they couldn't keep up, and I'm including secretaries," he says. "They had to go because they weren't going to make it, and they knew it."

i'm pretty sure college football coaches are the worst people in the world, generally speaking
― ~*GAME 2 SNYPA*~ (omar little), Tuesday, 28 April 2009 19:22 (sixteen years ago)
Tennessee had some heated rivalries in the SEC before, notably Alabama and Georgia. Since Kiffin's been in Knoxville, they now have all other 11 teams in the conference circling them on the calendar and targeting them for on-the-field murder. Way to go, Kiffin.
Liked the dude in Oakland too, or maybe I just thought I did.

― Bill Magill, Tuesday, 28 April 2009 20:18 (sixteen years ago)
^Me too. I never thought I would root for a Saban-coached team, but I hope they destroy Tennesee this year.
― Bill Magill, Tuesday, 28 April 2009 20:21 (sixteen years ago)
I think Kiffin will be toast in Tennessee, too much competition and not enough home talent. The SEC is pretty much NFL Jr. now, it is so competitive top to bottom. I swear Kentucky would have won 10 games the past two seasons playing in the Big Ten by comparison and they are like a .500 club in that conference.
There is a huge dickishness to all of NCAA football. The best teams rarely play each other. Big clubs will just completely destroy other teams with no soul. If a game ends in a tie they turn the damn game into flag football. The coaches pretty much let about anything left of murder slide and sleaze abounds. If it was me I'd split off those NFL Jr. clubs and make an ULTRA division and just freaking pay the players (or at least put it above the boards not unlike the common crap that goes on all the time). They won't do it as jackoffs make their cash stomping the shit out of small colleges for half their schedule.
I love football, but I think college football pretty much sucks. I've never been able to get into it much at all.

ditto. plus I object to the two-faced NCAA in broad terms.
