i think we should try to get everyone in the live draft on this one because otherwise there might be snafus such as terrible players not being chosen

so for whomever wants to play, here are some examples after week one's action:

the top player in week one was jake delhomme with 55(!) fantasy points.

running backs are tougher to predict. reggie bush was the best with 20 pts: 2 fumbles (10pts), 1 of which was lost (10 pts). that sort of predictability will be par for the course with the other positions as well. this isn't science, more like gambling. with the qbs it's easier.

oh and jason elam had an EPIC first week with a missed PAT and two missed FGs.

in. maybe you should set it to 2 qbs and defenses and less wrs - wide receivers don't get any points.

basically yes. RBs and WRs are a little trickier, kickers maybe less so. QBs and DEF are the easiest picks. unlike in regular FFB, the "best" players here will be QBs followed by DEF. but if you get a kicker who misses a lot of extra points, look out!

is there anyway to have some sort of other metric for wr/rb besides fumbles? maybe "positive" points for yards?

if you go to the league page and look at the list of players, and then click on fantasy points on the right column, it will show a top 5 of quinn, delhomme, garrard, stafford, and kolb.

i was trying to think of another metric for RBs but couldn't come up with one that made sense....suggestions?

yeah the problem is that we're pretty confined by what yahoo computes. in theory like you'd want to multiply yards per carry by some number but obv that can't happen.

okay, how about for rb & wr, you do positive points for carries & catches but negative points for yards, which would reward having rbs & wrs that were involved in the game but terrible at what they did.

let's say we give 3pts for every carry for running backs, and minus 3 pts for every five yards. a running back who breaks out for 27 carries and 120 yards will earn 81 positive points for the carries, but minus 90 points for the 120 yards rushing for a net of -9 points. on the other hand, a running back who rushes for only 90 yards on 27 carries will have the 81 pts for the carries and minus 69 (approximately) for the yards, for a net of +12.

use yahoo for the draft & roster purposes but not for points and standings?

i should maybe just stick with negative points for touchdowns or something, i dunno. i'd rather keep it online for lols and ease.

ok i've added minus 6 points for TDs for RBs and WRs. also, plus one point for every negative yard for RBs and WRs (five rushes or catches for minus 7 yards = 7 points)

something is busted up with that system i'm afraid....i just checked the points leader for RBs and there were dudes with minus 300 pts and only a couple with positive points. i'm sticking with fumbles and fumbles lost for RBs, WRs, and TEs for the moment while i figure this out. we might just have to go with those categories unfortunately...

worried they're not gonna give henne enough opportunities to throw.

yeah... anderson is an obv. cassell hasn't been throwing many picks from what i can tell but that team is dreadful. warner will prob do pretty well. i would just go with henne.

y'all need to be jealous of my defensive firepower tho: st. louis + detroit

yeah I'm 50-50 between anderson/henne and anderson/cassel

cassel's been solid so far just cause of incompletions - warner is v. good on that front too

my team is dominating league right now

altho daunte culpepper vs the steelers is probably gonna WRECK me this week - big ups to whoever that is

I like looking at the projected stats numbers, they make more sense than projected stats for a real league
