omar little, Saturday, 19 September 2009 00:22 (fifteen years ago)

i think it will work? i tried to make it so we had to draft regular players who suck

omar little, Saturday, 19 September 2009 00:23 (fifteen years ago)

haha!

Johnny Fever, Saturday, 19 September 2009 05:40 (fifteen years ago)

haha okay I want to play this

iatee, Saturday, 19 September 2009 05:44 (fifteen years ago)

LeGarrette's Knuckles in the house.

Johnny Fever, Saturday, 19 September 2009 05:50 (fifteen years ago)

Make sure you do away with the can't cut list, in the event autopick drafts Adrian Peterson or Drew Brees.

Johnny Fever, Saturday, 19 September 2009 06:02 (fifteen years ago)

i think we should try to get everyone in the live draft on this one because otherwise there might be snafus such as terrible players not being chosen

omar little, Saturday, 19 September 2009 06:05 (fifteen years ago)

so for whomever wants to play, here are some examples after week one's action:

the top player in week one was jake delhomme with 55(!) fantasy points.

running backs are tougher to predict. reggie bush was the best with 20 pts: 2 fumbles (10pts), 1 of which was lost (10 pts). that sort of predictability will be par for the course with the other positions as well. this isn't science, more like gambling. with the qbs it's easier.

omar little, Saturday, 19 September 2009 06:18 (fifteen years ago)

oh and jason elam had an EPIC first week with a missed PAT and two missed FGs.

omar little, Saturday, 19 September 2009 06:19 (fifteen years ago)

i am the apple turnovers

iatee, Saturday, 19 September 2009 06:39 (fifteen years ago)

*⁂((✪⥎✪))⁂* (Steve Shasta), Saturday, 19 September 2009 06:42 (fifteen years ago)

in. maybe you should set it to 2 qbs and defenses and less wrs - wide receivers don't get any points.

Girls, meet team; team, meet girls (hmmmm), Saturday, 19 September 2009 19:35 (fifteen years ago)

i was thinking about that...

omar little, Saturday, 19 September 2009 20:16 (fifteen years ago)

ok so far we have five teams. obviously we're not going to start until next weekend at the earliest, and ideally i would like at least eight teams.

starting slotss:

2 qbs
1 wr
2 rbs
1 te
1 K
2 DEF

omar little, Sunday, 20 September 2009 16:59 (fifteen years ago)

3 more teams, guys...i know at least three more of you would love the chance to ride the inevitable favre meltdown to fantasy glory

omar little, Monday, 21 September 2009 19:02 (fifteen years ago)

I want in.

EVERYBODY WANNA BOOOOO ME BUT I’M A FAN OF REAL POP CULTURE! (forksclovetofu), Monday, 21 September 2009 21:07 (fifteen years ago)

btw i am "delhommewrecker"

iirc flair (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 22 September 2009 20:16 (fifteen years ago)

ha!

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 20:26 (fifteen years ago)

ok we have eight teams. so when can everyone draft? this saturday morning? 10am eastern?

omar little, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 20:40 (fifteen years ago)

10am eastern?

7am pacific? :(

Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Tuesday, 22 September 2009 20:44 (fifteen years ago)

i'm pacific but i'm an early riser....9 am pacific, noon eastern?

omar little, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 20:46 (fifteen years ago)

I'm a late riser. It's a 50/50 shot whether or not I'd even be up at 10 on a Saturday morning. Noon's probably more realistic.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 20:49 (fifteen years ago)

I could do 9.

Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Tuesday, 22 September 2009 20:51 (fifteen years ago)

this is good

iirc flair (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 22 September 2009 21:47 (fifteen years ago)

ok i'll set it up

omar little, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 21:55 (fifteen years ago)

will do 9 pst

iatee, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 21:56 (fifteen years ago)

so the point of this is to draft players who play a lot but actually suck. so like... jamarcus russell should go #1 overall?

iirc flair (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 22 September 2009 21:57 (fifteen years ago)

that first part was a question btw

iirc flair (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 22 September 2009 21:57 (fifteen years ago)

basically yes. RBs and WRs are a little trickier, kickers maybe less so. QBs and DEF are the easiest picks. unlike in regular FFB, the "best" players here will be QBs followed by DEF. but if you get a kicker who misses a lot of extra points, look out!

omar little, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 21:59 (fifteen years ago)

is there anyway to have some sort of other metric for wr/rb besides fumbles? maybe "positive" points for yards?

iirc flair (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 22 September 2009 21:59 (fifteen years ago)

if you go to the league page and look at the list of players, and then click on fantasy points on the right column, it will show a top 5 of quinn, delhomme, garrard, stafford, and kolb.

omar little, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 22:01 (fifteen years ago)

i was trying to think of another metric for RBs but couldn't come up with one that made sense....suggestions?

omar little, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 22:02 (fifteen years ago)

yeah the problem is that we're pretty confined by what yahoo computes. in theory like you'd want to multiply yards per carry by some number but obv that can't happen.

iirc flair (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 22 September 2009 22:06 (fifteen years ago)

i wish dropped passes was a category

omar little, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 22:11 (fifteen years ago)

the only thing i thought about with RBs and WRs was minus one pt for every ten yards

omar little, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 22:11 (fifteen years ago)

okay, how about for rb & wr, you do positive points for carries & catches but negative points for yards, which would reward having rbs & wrs that were involved in the game but terrible at what they did.

iirc flair (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 22 September 2009 22:16 (fifteen years ago)

ok i think i've got it here

omar little, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 22:23 (fifteen years ago)

let's say we give 3pts for every carry for running backs, and minus 3 pts for every five yards. a running back who breaks out for 27 carries and 120 yards will earn 81 positive points for the carries, but minus 90 points for the 120 yards rushing for a net of -9 points. on the other hand, a running back who rushes for only 90 yards on 27 carries will have the 81 pts for the carries and minus 69 (approximately) for the yards, for a net of +12.

omar little, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 22:25 (fifteen years ago)

sorry, that should be minus 3 pts for every four yards

omar little, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 22:25 (fifteen years ago)

oh crap, it won't work, yahoo doesn't offer negative points for rushing yards

omar little, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 22:26 (fifteen years ago)

fuuck

iirc flair (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 22 September 2009 22:30 (fifteen years ago)

if it's just 8 teams i volunteer to calculate points by hand

iirc flair (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 22 September 2009 22:30 (fifteen years ago)

use yahoo for the draft & roster purposes but not for points and standings?

iirc flair (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 22 September 2009 22:31 (fifteen years ago)

i should maybe just stick with negative points for touchdowns or something, i dunno. i'd rather keep it online for lols and ease.

omar little, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 22:33 (fifteen years ago)

ok

iirc flair (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 22 September 2009 22:33 (fifteen years ago)

ok i've added minus 6 points for TDs for RBs and WRs. also, plus one point for every negative yard for RBs and WRs (five rushes or catches for minus 7 yards = 7 points)

omar little, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 22:37 (fifteen years ago)

this is dope

iirc flair (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 22 September 2009 22:41 (fifteen years ago)

something is busted up with that system i'm afraid....i just checked the points leader for RBs and there were dudes with minus 300 pts and only a couple with positive points. i'm sticking with fumbles and fumbles lost for RBs, WRs, and TEs for the moment while i figure this out. we might just have to go with those categories unfortunately...

omar little, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 22:47 (fifteen years ago)

tomorrow morning at 9am pacific, 12 eastern

omar little, Saturday, 26 September 2009 05:59 (fifteen years ago)

The draft was challenging! I might've done alright, but I'm not too optimistic. :(

Johnny Fever, Saturday, 26 September 2009 17:35 (fifteen years ago)

can`t believe favre only has six points. it`s time for favre to be favre again and throw some ints.

suggest friend (hmmmm), Tuesday, 6 October 2009 03:29 (fifteen years ago)

having a hell of a time deciding on my qbs for tomorrow

cassel, anderson, henne, warner...

worried they're not gonna give henne enough opportunities to throw.

iatee, Sunday, 11 October 2009 06:25 (fifteen years ago)

yeah... anderson is an obv. cassell hasn't been throwing many picks from what i can tell but that team is dreadful. warner will prob do pretty well. i would just go with henne.

kushighway (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 11 October 2009 06:28 (fifteen years ago)

y'all need to be jealous of my defensive firepower tho: st. louis + detroit

yeah I'm 50-50 between anderson/henne and anderson/cassel

cassel's been solid so far just cause of incompletions - warner is v. good on that front too

iatee, Sunday, 11 October 2009 06:30 (fifteen years ago)

my team is dominating league right now

kushighway (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 11 October 2009 06:36 (fifteen years ago)

altho daunte culpepper vs the steelers is probably gonna WRECK me this week - big ups to whoever that is

kushighway (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 11 October 2009 06:37 (fifteen years ago)

I like looking at the projected stats numbers, they make more sense than projected stats for a real league

iatee, Sunday, 11 October 2009 06:39 (fifteen years ago)

derrick fucking anderson

kushighway (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 11 October 2009 19:52 (fifteen years ago)

he's an amazing talent (in this league)

iatee, Sunday, 11 October 2009 19:59 (fifteen years ago)

culpepper has been glorious, but the denver kicker already missed one shot

suggest friend (hmmmm), Sunday, 11 October 2009 20:27 (fifteen years ago)

jamarcus got me 62 points on his own

omar little, Sunday, 11 October 2009 20:29 (fifteen years ago)

unfuckingbelievable

kushighway (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 11 October 2009 20:30 (fifteen years ago)

i think that's the highest of the year

kushighway (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 11 October 2009 20:30 (fifteen years ago)

my stack of qbs had a great week:

derek anderson: 55 pts
hasselbeck: 50
mcnabb: 36
kurt warner: 34
cassel: 30

iatee, Sunday, 18 October 2009 23:25 (fifteen years ago)

can't believe john carney missed a pat against me

suggest friend (hmmmm), Sunday, 18 October 2009 23:25 (fifteen years ago)

i can't fucking believe jamarcus russell didn't suck.

access flap (omar little), Sunday, 18 October 2009 23:26 (fifteen years ago)

jamarcus russell is like the drew brees / peyton manning of this league, and on some weeks he just isn't going to play to his full potential

iatee, Sunday, 18 October 2009 23:28 (fifteen years ago)

Whoever thought up the idea for this league is a GENIUS.

Mr. Snrub, Sunday, 18 October 2009 23:30 (fifteen years ago)

favre finally come through! is there a way to make extra points for pick sixes?

suggest friend (hmmmm), Sunday, 25 October 2009 20:12 (fifteen years ago)

russell back to form

iatee, Sunday, 25 October 2009 20:35 (fifteen years ago)

<3 Josh Johnson

Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Sunday, 25 October 2009 20:37 (fifteen years ago)

wow 33 points in the first quarter. some solid jamarcusing right there

suggest friend (hmmmm), Sunday, 25 October 2009 20:48 (fifteen years ago)

apple turnovers unstoppable today

Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Sunday, 25 October 2009 23:43 (fifteen years ago)

yeah I will beatchu unless eli manning gets a concussion on the first play or something.

iatee, Sunday, 25 October 2009 23:50 (fifteen years ago)

yeah that was a fumble

horseshoe, Monday, 26 October 2009 00:34 (fifteen years ago)

oh jamarcus you are a traet!!

jØrdån (omar little), Monday, 26 October 2009 17:52 (fifteen years ago)

really regretting missing this thread when it started.

Mr. Snrub, Monday, 26 October 2009 23:18 (fifteen years ago)

jason campbell is working on a 34 point first half...

suggest friend (hmmmm), Tuesday, 27 October 2009 01:56 (fifteen years ago)

he has been really special tonight

a goon boy (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 27 October 2009 01:57 (fifteen years ago)

I wish him and jr and derek anderson knew about this league and knew that they had genuine fans

iatee, Tuesday, 27 October 2009 01:57 (fifteen years ago)

but I guess that ego boost might affect their performance in the wrong way

iatee, Tuesday, 27 October 2009 01:58 (fifteen years ago)

DAMNIT derek anderson was benched

iatee, Sunday, 1 November 2009 20:59 (fifteen years ago)

at least I have quinn

iatee, Sunday, 1 November 2009 20:59 (fifteen years ago)

wtf kurt warner 68 points - is that a record?

also: benched :(:(

iatee, Monday, 2 November 2009 00:56 (fifteen years ago)

HOW the FUCK could ANYBODY bench Derke Anderson in a league like this???

Mr. Snrub, Monday, 2 November 2009 01:04 (fifteen years ago)

Derek Anderson, even.

Mr. Snrub, Monday, 2 November 2009 01:04 (fifteen years ago)

nono I have derek anderson and didn't bench him - I was merely mourning the (likely) end of his dominant performance

iatee, Monday, 2 November 2009 01:06 (fifteen years ago)

Ah! Now I get it. I'm a dumbass.

Mr. Snrub, Monday, 2 November 2009 02:49 (fifteen years ago)

thankin u matt ryan

suggest friend (hmmmm), Tuesday, 3 November 2009 05:17 (fifteen years ago)

Thank you, Tony Romo. 51 points came in handy.

Johnny Fever, Monday, 16 November 2009 00:37 (fifteen years ago)

damn. the yanking of jamarcus and the occasional flashes of greatness from cutler doesn't bode well for my team's future games.

GOOGLE FOR NIGGA AND FIND JOREL (omar little), Monday, 16 November 2009 20:27 (fifteen years ago)

Not cool, Matt Stafford! Daunte's supposed to be starting today, and fantasy points were going to rain down o'er me!

one month passes...

hasselbeck interception!

i'm the only person that still cares about this, right?

Luz, a saucy taco slinger (hmmmm), Monday, 4 January 2010 00:12 (fifteen years ago)

five months pass...

Doing one this year? If so, I want in and I want to draft Jake Delhomme (or whoever starts for the Browns this year). I need a reason to watch the Browns this year :(

Mr. Snrub, Monday, 14 June 2010 03:43 (fifteen years ago)

I hated this league. My guys would always suck so badly that they'd get benched the following week.

Johnny Fever, Monday, 14 June 2010 03:56 (fifteen years ago)

would play again

iatee, Monday, 14 June 2010 04:26 (fifteen years ago)

I thought this was a blast.
