i apologize in advance for even paying attention to dumb power rankings but why according to two different sites are the steelers suddenly worse than half the league? does anyone want to step up and make an argument for this? i did not see either of their losses.

aarrissi-a-roni, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 19:13 (fifteen years ago)

cause they're dumb power rankings?

iatee, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 19:16 (fifteen years ago)

Because they're 1-2.

Miami Dolphins

A wise man making brave predictions.

Daniel, Esq., Tuesday, 29 September 2009 19:50 (fifteen years ago)

I think Henne will be pretty good with a week of work with the first team (and might actually be able to make some long passes unlike other Chad), they'll be able to use Pat White, they're at home in muggy Miami, they have a better head coach, and they're vulnerable against teams with great quarterbacks (aka maybe not the Bills).

Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Tuesday, 29 September 2009 19:58 (fifteen years ago)

BEASTMODE is back this week, though I'm not sure it's as big a deal now since Fred Jackson has been a badass all season thus far.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 20:00 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah, I'm not sure Lynch is better than Jackson, as much as it pains this Cal fan to say that.

It's tooo easy.

Daniel, Esq., Tuesday, 29 September 2009 20:27 (fifteen years ago)

Going 15-1 in Week 1 helped out my average big time.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 20:35 (fifteen years ago)

it is not clear to me beast mode is better than freddy jackson, either, but i think the bills are better with both of them rotating throughout the game. on the other hand i hate the stupid bills.

Bills Fan Has Popcorn Ready, Dumps It on Terrell Owens

When Terrell Owens walked off the field after the Buffalo Bills loss Sunday at Ralph Wilson Stadium, a fan dumped a bag of popcorn on the receiver's head. On the bright side, it was about time something got thrown Owens' way.

VegemiteGrrrl, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 22:08 (fifteen years ago)

i am still so mad i am humorless about that dumb bills fan. maybe it is time to dump some popcorn on dick jauron. i really felt for t.o. during his after-game press conference.

horseshoe, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 22:15 (fifteen years ago)

why? i don't feel it's an exaggeration to say he was being a passive aggressive dickhead

yellow card for favre (call all destroyer), Tuesday, 29 September 2009 22:16 (fifteen years ago)

LEAVE T.O. ALONE

all yoga attacks are fire based (rogermexico.), Tuesday, 29 September 2009 22:17 (fifteen years ago)

whatever he was totally right; offensive playcalling is and has been bullshit in buffalo for YEARS and dick jauron shows no evidence that he gives a shit. i know t.o. is insane but it must be surreal for him playing for such a team.

xpost also rogermexico otm

horseshoe, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 22:18 (fifteen years ago)

yeah he was being super immature for no reason other than to attract attention to his "issues" and stir shit up - it took him three weeks to start acting like a spoiled 10 year old again

rather shipped (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 29 September 2009 22:18 (fifteen years ago)

eh i am okay with him acting like a spoiled ten year old if it causes dick jauron to resign in frustration

horseshoe, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 22:19 (fifteen years ago)

i know their offense is garbage, i also am pretty sure they were one of the only teams that would sign him. it's not hard to say "no comment" or um NOT TALK TO THE PRESS or at least figure out how to say cliches in the tone of voice that everybody else uses.

yellow card for favre (call all destroyer), Tuesday, 29 September 2009 22:21 (fifteen years ago)

can i just

watching the game with the saints i was so damn envious of saints' fans, who have a coach who gets all riled up when his team gets bullshit penalties called against them, actually seeming like he cares if his team wins or loses. meanwhile it's not clear dick jauron cares if trent edwards lives or dies. the commentators were like, "dick jauron acknowledges that the bills aren't going to be able to keep the saints from moving the ball up and down the field." and i was like, that's nice. how about making your players feel like you have any confidence in them at all, motherfucker?

horseshoe, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 22:22 (fifteen years ago)

i am sorry to be so bratty but i am so mad you guys. i'm sick and tired of being sick and tired!

horseshoe, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 22:23 (fifteen years ago)

imagine the inspiring locker room speeches jauron must give

fleetwood (max), Tuesday, 29 September 2009 22:23 (fifteen years ago)

no one is disagreeing that jauron is a bad coach. but t.o. is not the dude you want out in front on that discussion.

yellow card for favre (call all destroyer), Tuesday, 29 September 2009 22:24 (fifteen years ago)

i guess, cad. i'm not really arguing about t.o. anymore, just venting. but i do feel for t.o. these days. he might have agreed to come here, but he couldn't have known what it would fel like.

horseshoe, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 22:25 (fifteen years ago)

also i <3 the shirt t.o. wore at the press conference

horseshoe, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 22:29 (fifteen years ago)

it's not hard to say "no comment" or um NOT TALK TO THE PRESS

he tried - NFL front office told him that was officially Not An Option. maybe if the press stops turning every goddamn word out of his mouth into CANCER!! he'll get a little less surly. 'til then he's gold in my book minus a couple of big drops.

and yeah, I wish they'd gone for it but i'm not even going to hate on Jauron yet, really. dudes came in with a good game plan and flat-out shut down Drew Brees.

it's hard to score points when your center has a broken back and is rolling footballs to your quarterbacks ankles on first and 25.

all yoga attacks are fire based (rogermexico.), Tuesday, 29 September 2009 22:36 (fifteen years ago)

stop being so nice and reasonable!

horseshoe, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 22:36 (fifteen years ago)

i didn't realize he had a broken back; i had like an apoplectic fit at that point in the game.

horseshoe, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 22:37 (fifteen years ago)

um btw, t.o. could've said "i think the playcalling is fine, it's only week 3" - the reporters were digging for something with t.o. that they wouldn't have with another bills receiver but it's not like it's uncalled for because uh hey it's terrell owens. it's obvious that he's pissed & unhappy & is gonna explode and it's the press' job to try and get him to speak about these feelings, likewise it's t.o.'s job to have enough composure to lie to the press and move on with his life and maybe bring it up with front office people/coaching staff if he feels like there is an issue with the playcalling or who trent edwards is throwing the ball too. plenty of athletes are adept at lying to the press so they don't run themselves out of the league for destroying team chemistry. t.o. is not one of these people, he never will be, he will never learn, even tho he should, because there is a good chance that he is going to get pacman jones'd into the cfl.

rather shipped (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 29 September 2009 22:37 (fifteen years ago)
