I knew the Pats would win, just didn't know it would be by that margin.

Oakland beating Philly is total WTFsville.

Philly loss is LOL but TEN is pretty sure to put a couple of guys on meds

Look, it is never good to lose the Raiders, but Kerry Collins was 2/12 for negative seven yards. And that is like the fifth worst statistic from that game.

TEN can always chalk it up to extremely poor conditions (which always favor the offense since you can keep the D off balance--literally!) philly's loss is just humiliating.

however 59 points....philly can always chalk it up to a fluke, a perfect storm of bad luck.

yeah but it seems more embarrassing, somehow, the oakland thing

Doom can collide if the Jets lose to the Raiders next week. I think that would break the radio waves in NYC.

Looking at the box score in that Raiders/Eagles game, it looks like Andy Reid has let the pass/run balance get completely out of whack again. It seems whenever they are throwing the ball nearly 50 times a game and not running at all, they get beat by lesser clubs. I didn't watch the game, but I would not doubt that this again is a reason they lost, as it seems to be a reason why they play like crud against lesser clubs. They only ran the ball 12 times and threw 46.

This NFL season is so screwy and weird I'm sure it's a sign of the end times.

leavethecapital, Monday, 19 October 2009 23:32 (fifteen years ago)

I remember saying almost the same thing last season.

Johnny Fever, Monday, 19 October 2009 23:34 (fifteen years ago)

(...and last season ended up with the Arizona Cardinals playing in the Super Bowl.)

Johnny Fever, Monday, 19 October 2009 23:34 (fifteen years ago)

i hope the season's not fucked enough to allow for a cowboys super bowl win. i'll accept almost anything else, just not that.

The Titans going in were pretty bad, not expected to win and the Pats tend to not take the neck off the throat when they are beating the shit out of a team. Throw in the odd snow weather and it was just like the Arizona game last year when they got smacked around. At this point, the Titans are just playing for the #1 pick.

The Eagles on the other hand seems to have game planned themselves into losing and again hand away a game to an inferior club, which has happened quite a bit in the past couple of seasons.
