ton of underachievers here

only guys i even considered voting 4 are ngata and mangold

johnny crunch, Sunday, 28 March 2010 00:18 (fifteen years ago)

hmm

1 mario williams
2 deangelo williams
3 vernon davis
4 nick mangold
5 haloti ngata

addai could be up there, holmes could be at #5 i think too -- i guess cutler is an unknown commodity at this point

ernie sims & aj hawk are solid if unspectacular

you could make the argument that the bottom 4 picks here turned out better than the top 4 -- altho, who knows with vince next year

hipster puddy (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 28 March 2010 00:22 (fifteen years ago)

jonathon joseph is actually a really good, underrated corner for the bengals too - that's a decent mid-round pick

hipster puddy (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 28 March 2010 00:23 (fifteen years ago)

8 Buffalo Bills Donte Whitner Safety Ohio State
9 Detroit Lions Ernie Sims Linebacker Florida State

here are your two prime examples against taking eric berry in the top 10

hipster puddy (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 28 March 2010 00:24 (fifteen years ago)

i fully expect good futures for mario, deagelo & vern davis but theyve not been dominant yet imo

johnny crunch, Sunday, 28 March 2010 00:25 (fifteen years ago)

well, mario williams is

hipster puddy (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 28 March 2010 00:33 (fifteen years ago)

deangelo led the nfl in rushing in 08 & vernon was the best TE in the nfl last year, but he's a bit more volatile

hipster puddy (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 28 March 2010 00:34 (fifteen years ago)

mario williams is probably the best DE in the nfl after freeney and maybe jared allen

hipster puddy (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 28 March 2010 00:35 (fifteen years ago)

isn't mario williams the clear no. 1 here?

Daniel, Esq., Sunday, 28 March 2010 00:50 (fifteen years ago)

really? idk i guess i dont see him enough. didnt know he had become that beastly

johnny crunch, Sunday, 28 March 2010 01:13 (fifteen years ago)

worst draft of the decade

Mr. Snrub, Sunday, 28 March 2010 01:27 (fifteen years ago)

Looking at this draft is kind of pissing me off.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 28 March 2010 02:13 (fifteen years ago)

I went with Deangelo, almost chose Mario. But aside from the two of them, I agree... "ton of underachievers here."

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 28 March 2010 02:15 (fifteen years ago)

addai isn't an underachiever. i'd say he's an overachiever.

Daniel, Esq., Sunday, 28 March 2010 02:16 (fifteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

System, Wednesday, 31 March 2010 23:01 (fifteen years ago)

just looking @ this list it seems that most of them still have jobs; while you can argue about superstars and underachieving I would argue that a given draft round that has 20 players still hacking it in NFL is a pretty good average.

Astronaut Mike Dexter (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Thursday, 1 April 2010 16:05 (fifteen years ago)

well it wasnt that long ago, either

johnny crunch, Thursday, 1 April 2010 16:10 (fifteen years ago)

No love for D'Brick?

no turkey unless it's a club sandwich (polyphonic), Thursday, 1 April 2010 16:13 (fifteen years ago)

last season was d'brickashaw's first legit good season i think, but he did look real good when i saw him. come back to this in a couple years and maybe he is a contender. vernon davis is the same. the jets luuuuuuv mangold, i think maybe he is my vote here. i could go for either of the williamses too, tho. also a big fan if ngata. i have no particular love for addai, tho, and i don't know how much confidence indy have in him now. i would be surprised if he has another big nfl season.

aarrissi-a-roni, Thursday, 1 April 2010 16:33 (fifteen years ago)

Oh, I didn't see Ngata. I think he'd be my pick.

Jonathan Joseph has also been pretty good for the Bengals.
