What if #1 and #2 had been switched? Would the Browns have had several winning seasons, ending up in the AFC championship on a semi-regular basis and would Tim Couch and Andy Reid have been run out of town?

Johnny Fever, Friday, 2 April 2010 16:24 (fifteen years ago)

that way lies madness

McNabb wouldve been every bit as bad as Couch. Browns o-line was terrible those first couple years.

McNabb would have been able to scramble out of some problems in Cleveland, but I think considering the injuries he got in Philly, his story if with the Browns would have probably turned out similar to Couch.

Javon Kearse seems a bit underrated here. I know especially at peak, he would be much more of an impact player on defense than Champ Bailey. The Freak was the best pass rusher in football for his first couple of years in the NFL, especially that rookie year. Bailey has been more consistent and missed less games, but if I got to choose between a shutdown corner and a top of the league pass rushing DE, I'd go for the end.

These guys were pretty solid picks too:

17 New England Patriots (From Seattle Seahawks) Damien Woody Center Boston College
10 Baltimore Ravens Chris McAlister Defensive Back Arizona
31 Denver Broncos Al Wilson Linebacker Tennessee

This guy was hyped huge at Ohio State, but he got hurt and that was pretty much it:
28 New England Patriots (From New York Jets) Andy Katzenmoyer Linebacker Ohio State

This guy was decent, but man I cannot count how many penalties this guy got on the o-line:
19 New York Giants Luke Petitgout Tackle Notre Dame
That whole Giants line was always getting penalties against it.

Very OTM. So many busts were busts because of the teams they were drafted onto. Not all busts are like that, though (I think J.Russel is a bust because he's a fat, lazy slob).
