DET @ MIN : Lions have almost gotten there twice, and played Philly really hard last week. I think Favre is toast, at least until Rice comes back. So, Lions.DAL @ HOU : I can't think of any reason whatsoever that Houston loses this game.BUF @ NE : ^ I can't think of any reason whatsoever that New England loses this game.CIN @ CAR : ^ I can't think of any reason whatsoever that Cincinnati loses this game.ATL @ NO : Falcons aren't really clicking yet, and putting a whoopin' on Arizona is a red herring. Saints.PIT @ TB : I would've said Pittsburgh before, but it looks like Leftwich will be the QB. Tampa honestly looks better in this situation.CLE @ BAL : Ravens O is shittier than anyone predicted, and Browns O may just win by a point or two. Browns win, maybe?TEN @ NYG : I think the Titans poor W2 performance was a lark. They should beat the football Giants even on the road.SF @ KC : I'm pulling for the Chiefs until further notice.WAS @ STL : I like the Skins here, even though the Rams are improving (baby steps).PHI @ JAC : If Kolb is back, it becomes less of a certainty. But I still think the Iggles win.SD @ SEA : I'm starting to really hate the Chargers, but they'd have to be asleep to lose this one.OAK @ ARI : Ugh, is this really happening? It will probably end in overtime in a 0-0 tie. (Raiders)IND @ DEN : Colts get it together and start their streak here.NYJ @ MIA : I have every hope this resembles the Jets/Fins game from early last year, including the Miami win.GB @ CHI : Against all good judgement, I'm picking Bears to go 3-0.

DAL @ HOU : I can't think of any reason whatsoever that Houston loses this game.
they were a 45 yard fourth down heave away from losing to the redskins fwiw

i def can't think of a reason why new england or cincy would lose tho
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 21 September 2010 05:14 (fifteen years ago)
xp Redskins def better team at this point than the Cowboys, and have a close win to prove it.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 21 September 2010 05:19 (fifteen years ago)
also this isn't about football but i think i should point out that i was just watching "diner's, drive ins & dives" and they were at a diner in pittsburgh and their signature dish is a prime rib salad that has french fries in the salad
just to get us in the right mindframe for week 3
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 21 September 2010 05:19 (fifteen years ago)
ha man idk... the cowboys haven't looked great but i wouldn't say that the redskins are definitely better -- they prob don't win that game if not for the fluke felix jones fumble
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 21 September 2010 05:20 (fifteen years ago)
not that i would come anywhere near picking the cowboys over the texans at home, but i was just giving one reason
also reggie bush out 6 weeks
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 21 September 2010 05:23 (fifteen years ago)
Fair enough. I'm buying into Tom Jackson's Houston hype, though. Now that they've got a decisive divisional win at home (over the Colts) and a comeback win on the road (over the Skins), they've got an equal balance of skill and confidence.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 21 September 2010 05:23 (fifteen years ago)
Oh man, 6 weeks?! That makes me sad irl, but it makes me happy in fantasy because Pierre is one of my RBs in the 8-team league.

I was watching this with my friends from Wisconsin, and a couple of friends who inexplicably enjoy the Bears, so I could not share it with you guys, but basically all I would have done was type out profanities in capital letters every time something good happened but was immediately negated because of a penalty. This happened many times tonight.
On the plus side, watching the NFL while eating BBQ and hanging out with four of your best dudes is a pretty solid way to make up for a 13+ hour day of surgery clerkship.

You guys would know more than I would since I only watched him every once in awhile on the Panthers, but it would not surprise me if one of the reasons he slacked a bit was because he was on a shitty team, a la Randy Moss. Before the Panthers fell apart he seemed like a total badass. Now he's playing on what seems like a good team, playing along with some guys he has to be accountable to and a coach maybe he respects a little more ... also, even his worst seasons in Carolina he was a disruptive force, and the Bears didn't really have that. If he draws double teams it will make it easier for Urlacher and Briggs to roam. I think he makes that defense a lot better.
― funky house skeptic (polyphonic), Tuesday, 28 September 2010 17:42 (fifteen years ago)
the panthers have never been worse than 7-9 since he's been there, and had three seasons of 11+ wins. you might be right, but this is not a moss on the raiders thing.
