Last week, an improved 10-4 (Who would have figured on Denver & Cleveland? I should have taken the Titans at home, but with Collins it was a bit harder to go that way.)This season = 62-44
Miami at Cincinnati- Miami likes to play it low and slow, they have beaten Minn. & Green Bay and kinda got jobbed against Pittsburgh. Cincy is real schizo (with that roster no big suprise), their passing offense alternates between mind boggling yards numbers and terrible, but the running game hasn't been as dependable and Palmer seems to misfire often in the redzone with some turnovers. I'm taking Miami, but I would not be suprised if Cincy wins. I think turnovers will be the deciding point, as Miami has lost a couple giving away the ball or on some blocked kicks.Jacksonville at Dallas- Jville is pretty banged up. I'm going Cowboys as I think Kitna being around will force Garrett to slow down the offense to more of a pickup truck than high powered but finnicky sports car and actually use those gppd running backs. If the Cowboys try to throw the ball 50 times a game with Kitna, they will get smoked. Washington at Detroit- Lions don't have the wins, but they seem to be a bit improved. The only thing keeping the Redskins offense from being the laughing stock on the highlight shows last week was the fact that the Bears played EVEN worse. Washington still looked like total crap in the second half. I'm probably crazy, but lets go with the Lions at home coming off the bye. Buffalo at Kansas City- KC should win, but Buffalo put up some pretty eye-popping numbers against b-more last week. Chiefs at home though...but Buffalo will knock someone off probably sooner rather than later.Carolina at St. Louis- Wow...Rams to win. Go figure.Green Bay at New York Jets- Green Bay is pretty battered and the Jets seem to have weathered and improved as the year goes by. I'll take the Jets but I think they are due for an ugly game out of Sanchez. Denver at San Francisco- Fugly bowl...I'll take the Niners at home I guess. Denver better come out with some fire after getting lit up that bad last week. Might actually be a decent game. I still think the 49ers are better than their record and just having no real QB is their problem. Criminy the way Hill has thrown the rock in Detroit, they might have gave up on the wrong one. Money spent does make people do dumb things.Tennessee at San Diego- SD is a train wreck, but they still have talent. Titans are moving through the league like a bar bouncer. SD might win, but I think you have to go with the Titans based on rep.Seattle at Oakland- These two teams are perplexing as hell. Seattle stat wise sucks at everything yet they win. I'll take the Silver and Black, as I just never liked the Seahawks, they are just the middling team of all time in the NFL.Minnesota at New England- It doesn't matter who is playing QB for Minnesota anymore, they won't beat NE. I just don't see it happening. I think the window is closing on the Vikings as their defense is stepping down from their greatness over the past couple of years. Childress seems more like a morose writer type than an NFL head coach. Future career after January? We will see.Tampa Bay at Arizona- Kind of hard game to pick...AZ isn't the same, but they have won a couple. I guess we go TB on the road. I don't have a read on this one.
Pittsburgh at New Orleans- NO probably got a wake up call last week and they are at home. Steelers should be the favorite on what has gone down, but I am feeling Saints this time. NO gets blown out, it might be time to dust off the panic button, Well not really, the NFC is a weak kitten this year and even if they can't catch the Falcons, I think the Saints could get the wildcard as their schedule opens up quite a bit in the 2nd half.
Houston at Indianapolis- This is a big game for INdy, if they lose and go 0-3 in the division, it will be TOUGH road to make the playoffs as the AFC wild card is going to be tight tight. Bad news is the Colts skills guys are really beat up including Addai, losing Dallas Clark is prety huge, especially with Collie definitely out and Anthony Gonzales coming back from injury (and he has yet to be all that anyway). Good news for the Colts is Houston's defense is kind of beat up and they have been giving up a gazillion yards a game. I'm going Colts even banged up, as after week 1 - Houston beat Washington, Oaktown and KC by a combined 14 points and got rolled by the Giants and Dallas. I think a key player to watch is Jacob Tamme of the Colts. I saw Tamme play quite a bit for Kentucky in college and he looked pretty good. Tamme has mostly been a special teams guy for Indy, but as the other TE is more of a big road grater type, I think he will play quite a bit more.

I just realized who Brad Childress reminds me of! When I worked for Domino's Pizza in the 90s, our regional supervisor was a really despicable guy named Lowery who had the need to one-up everybody, from management down to the lowliest phone answerer/order taker. About a year after I left, I found out from a friend who still worked there that he had been arrested for exposing himself at the area waterpark.

I'll also make the early call that Brian Billick will be the guy to replace Childress once all of this goes down for real.
Billick has Viking ties, I see him as the most obvious one if it goes down. I'd say the Vikings are pretty close to China Syndrome at this point anyway.
