DALLAS PLAYING IN PRIMETIME

FOR PRIDE

i feel like we had a really good string of primetime match ups in the past three weeks or so (except for jax-ten) but the two this week are duds

crocodile swag district - teach me how to dundee (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 2 November 2010 06:10 (fourteen years ago)

8-5 last week, 62-55 on the season. oy.

Tampa Bay @ Atlanta - I'm taking Atlanta at home, but Tampa should give them rough afternoon. Hoping Blount jumps TWO defenders on Sunday.
Chicago @ Buffalo - Buffalo to win! (finally!)
New England @ Cleveland - I know Cleveland knocked off the Saints the last time they played, but the Pats is a-cookin'.
New York Jets @ Detroit - Even with Stafford back and at home, I think the Jets coming off a pitiful offensive showing will take it out on poor Detroit.
Arizona @ Minnesota - Brett probably starts, the Vikings probably get their third win. Arizona is horrific.
New Orleans @ Carolina - Carolina is even worse than Arizona. Saints win.
Miami @ Baltimore - I'm legally obligated to pick Miami this year, but I feel good about them catching the Ravens on an off day.
San Diego @ Houston - San Diego shouldn't be winning anything, but I'm picking them for the road upset. Jerks.
New York Giants @ Seattle - I know it's unwise to pick an East coast team in Seattle, but I like the Gigantes here.
Kansas City @ Oakland - Oakland won't torch the Chiefs like they have their opponents in the last two games, but they'll get this win.
Indianapolis @ Philadelphia - I like Michael Vick to be about 76.4% as awesome as he was before the injury, and for Philly to squeak out a narrow victory.
Dallas @ Green Bay - This Dallas team in Lambeau? HA. Packers take it in a completely unwatchable mess.
Pittsburgh @ Cincinnati - Stillers do the deed.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 2 November 2010 06:28 (fourteen years ago)

can't see miami beating the ravens. i know the dolphins have been good on the road, but . . .

otoh, if we sign RANDY MOSS this week . . .

Buffalo gets their first win this week. I cant see how the Bears can beat an NFL team at this point, unless something got fixed over the bye week. Its ugly.

New England @ Cleveland - pats
New York Jets @ Detroit - jets
Arizona @ Minnesota - vikings i guess

Indianapolis @ Philadelphia - colts
Dallas @ Green Bay - lol lol lol lol lol the pack
Pittsburgh @ Cincinnati - steelers

omar little, Tuesday, 2 November 2010 17:51 (fourteen years ago)

Last week 10-3, for the season 72-45

Tampa Bay @ Atlanta- This is a game with PLAYOFF implications, who would have thunk it? Bucs are a nice story, but the Falcons are at home, where they are generally better and coming off a bye. If the Bucs do step up and beat ATL, you can color me impressed.
Chicago @ Buffalo- IS THIS THE WEEK BUFFALO? It well could be. Bad thing about the Bears keystone cop offense this year is that the defense is really pretty good, really one of Lovie's best. Thing is much of a bad joke the Bears offense has been, they have piled up some yards and had some moments. I'm going Bears and I will be pretty dejected if they lose. I'm almost feeling a sports bar trip, as I know this one won't be on TV around here.
New England @ Cleveland- I really hope the Browns win, but you have to take NE to win this one.
New York Jets @ Detroit- Is it the time of the season when the Jets wake up puking in the bed? It might be. Let it roll from last week, LIONS IN AN UPSET!
Arizona @ Minnesota- Minnesota should win, but I could see the season turning into a Viking funeral by fire on the lake (in a sex boat).
New Orleans @ Carolina- Saints, but I have a weird feeling this one will be closer than you might expect.
Miami @ Baltimore- I'm taking the Ravens, but the Fins have been pretty good on the road this year.
San Diego @ Houston- This is a big game for both clubs. SD can't really afford losses if they have any playoff hopes, but they did beat the Titans, which by my measure is a solid win. Houston falls back to .500 with a loss heading towards another out of the playoff 9-7 season. I'm taking the Chargers on the road. Texans are giving up a crap load of points. Houston has some talent, but they have a lot of holes and they are just not ready for the big stage. It should be a pretty high scoring game and probably good one to watch.
New York Giants @ Seattle- Giants should win, but Seattle has been a bit of a trap town for a long time for clubs. That said, Giants seem to have done OK on the road under Tom C., that has been a thing before.
Kansas City @ Oakland- Wow...this is a hard one to call and a big game for both as the AFC West is most likely only going to get one team into the playoffs. I'll stick with the bay area grease and take the Raiders.
Indianapolis @ Philadelphia- I'm taking the Colts, as Philly is a bit too up and down.
Dallas @ Green Bay- Dallas is like a zombie, they are horrible and will be on national TV nearly every week till the end of the season (or time). Packers beating the Jets 9-0 counts as pretty impressive in my book. I'll take the Pack.
Pittsburgh @ Cincinnati- I hope the Bengals can get it together and knock off the Steelers, but I don't think it is going to happen. Pittsburgh it is.

bills claiming merriman. why not, i guess?

Roberto Spiralli, Wednesday, 3 November 2010 18:50 (fourteen years ago)

Tampa Bay @ Atlanta - Falcons, unfortunately.
Chicago @ Buffalo - Bills, finally
New England @ Cleveland -Pats shouldn't have any problem
New York Jets @ Detroit - Jets
Arizona @ Minnesota - As long as AP gets enough reps, Minn should pull it off.
New Orleans @ Carolina - This game is always closer than it should be, Saints in a blowout
Miami @ Baltimore - Go Dolphins!
San Diego @ Houston - SD
New York Giants @ Seattle - New York Football Giants
Kansas City @ Oakland - Raiders
Indianapolis @ Philadelphia - Colts
Dallas @ Green Bay - John Kitna will score more TDs for GB than ARod
Pittsburgh @ Cincinnati - Pitt's gonna take their embarrassment from last week out in a nasty nasty way.

2 things i learned today that possibly worthy of note/discussion:

the skins tried out JaMarcus this week????
Peyty has basically said he is definitely not re-signing with indy before hitting free agency????

of course, now that i think about it, the obvious link between those two items is that snyder would open the vault in a heartbeat and make it rain bullion on manning if he actually does become available.

The subject of McNabb’s benching was one of the topics on Owens’ reality show with Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco, who couldn’t understand why the Redskins would bench McNabb in favor of backup Rex Grossman in the closing minutes.

“That’s just wrong,” Ochocinco said. “It really makes no sense. What message are you really trying to send?”

Owens then took a jab at McNabb.

“Well, I don’t really want to start anything, but I did play in the Super Bowl and there were rumors where he couldn’t get our two-minute offense going at the end of the game,” Owens said. “I’m just saying.”

When pressed on the matter by Ochocinco, Owens said, “I’m just saying.”

Owens defended Redskins coach Mike Shanahan’s decisions to change quarterbacks, saying the coach knows best.

“He’s the head coach, so it has to make sense,” said Owens, who has complained that the Bengals aren’t paying attention to his suggestions for the offense. “Well, this is a situation where Mike Shanahan, he sees these two quarterbacks on an everyday basis. … So he’s had a chance to observe.”

Ochocinco ended the segment by saying, “If anyone else out there feels that Rex Grossman gives the Washington Redskins a better chance than Donovan McNabb to win a game with two minutes left on the clock, they need to slap they selves.”

Princess TamTam, Thursday, 4 November 2010 19:05 (fourteen years ago)

I'm thinking Owens doesn't know what the word "rumors" means.

Mordy, Thursday, 4 November 2010 19:07 (fourteen years ago)

These guys may want to worry about their own 2-5 team as opposed to trying to impart their genius to other franchises.

Ive been lucky enough to not be subjected to any Bengals action this year so I'm unable to assess the accuracy of your statement.
