I kind of like Brett Farve, the player. I definitely don't like the cult of football guru's who have waxxed on Farve's every move the past half dozen seasons.

I am really sick of the whether or not Farve is going to retire. I'm so hoping the Packers just say fxck it and cut the old geezer and make his decision for him just so sports reporters would quit asking the question. Make up your freaking mind, criminy Farve is as bad as Roger Clemens. If you want to play golf and go hunting, get too it...

Many people were all down on how Barry Sanders left the game, but I liked it. The dude said he was done and that was that.

Brett Farve, you were a fun football player to watch, especially when you were young. Don't be a freaking pansy curmuggeon like some sorority girl wondering to dump her freshman boyfriend, either quit football or quit moaning about the Packers front office and whether the situation is right.

I have a hard time calling Favre-idolatry "bigotry" of any stripe because dude has actually won Superbowls. I'm not excusing the I-can't-pronounce-my-own-name thing, though.

While Favre did relatively suck last year, and while he does gamble too much as a rule, he didn't actually look that bad last year in the pocket. (I mean, compare him to Chad Pennington... no contest.) Not having Walker to throw to or Green to hand off to didn't do him any favors.
