johnny crunch, Saturday, 3 September 2011 19:09 (fourteen years ago)

I can't remember the last time a nat'l champ team got this gutted in the offseason. Frankly, I thought their top 25 ranking was unwarranted.

Johnny Fever, Saturday, 3 September 2011 19:14 (fourteen years ago)

v nice onsides kick

johnny crunch, Saturday, 3 September 2011 19:14 (fourteen years ago)

for the love of god

J0rdan S., Saturday, 3 September 2011 19:15 (fourteen years ago)

this has so many mich-app st undertones, all utah st needs to do here is block a kick

J0rdan S., Saturday, 3 September 2011 19:15 (fourteen years ago)

utah st should've just let them score once they got inside the 5. lost themselves 30 seconds.

J0rdan S., Saturday, 3 September 2011 19:19 (fourteen years ago)

hmm nothing says college football season like a 1st day notre dame upset...

iatee, Saturday, 3 September 2011 20:22 (fourteen years ago)

Echoes need to wake up imo

J0rdan S., Saturday, 3 September 2011 22:31 (fourteen years ago)

not sure where to post this but I saw some of the high school football game today between Glenville (OH) and Camden (GA)- Camden ended up winning.

Glenville is a good story as it's the first Cleveland public school to ever make it to the state playoffs (if I have my facts correct) which was a fairly recent development. The coach, Ted Ginn Sr., started out as a security guard before he became head football and track coach.

Also their nickname is the Tarblooders, which is balls.

brownie, Monday, 5 September 2011 21:57 (fourteen years ago)

This whole Texas A&M move is starting to get really nasty. Also? Fuck Baylor.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 8 September 2011 19:03 (fourteen years ago)

nasty in what sense

hearing a lot about 16 team conferences -> playoff system emerges

iatee, Thursday, 8 September 2011 19:06 (fourteen years ago)

Baylor is suing A&M, in court, on some bullshit grounds about disrupting the "tradition of Texas football" and they're riling up all the other schools left in the XII to join them after they'd all already agreed to let A&M leave.

One of the columns I read about it makes note of the fact that Baylor was the first Texas school to jump the SWC ship and join the Big XII.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 8 September 2011 19:10 (fourteen years ago)

haha is there a law protecting the tradition of texas football?

iatee, Thursday, 8 September 2011 19:12 (fourteen years ago)

No. It's a nuisance suit and apparently A&M, being a government institution, can't be sued (or something along those lines). But it sets a pretty ugly precedent for private universities who might want to bolt from their conferences one day.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 8 September 2011 19:13 (fourteen years ago)

huh, I didn't think of the 6 or how many conferences/playoff connection

it could work

brownie, Thursday, 8 September 2011 20:35 (fourteen years ago)

this georgia/s carolina game has been incredible

mon/ seeya/ chi 2.0 (k3vin k.), Sunday, 20 November 2011 06:11 (thirteen years ago)

NFL is a fun way to kill a Sunday in the fall. College football is what I wait for all year.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 20 November 2011 06:15 (thirteen years ago)

You guys are nuts. NFL forever.

polyphonic, Sunday, 20 November 2011 07:54 (thirteen years ago)

one month passes...

Capital One Bowl is frequently bonkers thus far. Including a end of first half Hail Mary.

shawty redmayne (J0rdan S.), Monday, 2 January 2012 22:55 (thirteen years ago)

Johnny Fever, Monday, 2 January 2012 23:07 (thirteen years ago)

no thanks

shawty redmayne (J0rdan S.), Monday, 2 January 2012 23:11 (thirteen years ago)

I was talking to Oregon and Wisconsin, but my position stands.

Johnny Fever, Monday, 2 January 2012 23:33 (thirteen years ago)

Big Ten is bringing some interesting games. This Rose Bowl is nuts.

earlnash, Tuesday, 3 January 2012 01:26 (thirteen years ago)

That timeout that Wisc. burned on that kickoff is looking pretty dumb now.

earlnash, Tuesday, 3 January 2012 01:35 (thirteen years ago)

yup

johnny crunch, Tuesday, 3 January 2012 01:38 (thirteen years ago)

polyphonic, Tuesday, 3 January 2012 05:16 (thirteen years ago)

ha I turned it off cause I thought it was over

iatee, Tuesday, 3 January 2012 05:16 (thirteen years ago)

I mean how do you miss that field goal

iatee, Tuesday, 3 January 2012 05:18 (thirteen years ago)

Do you think Kyle Brotzman and Scott Norwood are gonna wait until tomorrow to tell the Stanford kicker it's gonna be OK, or do they do it tonight?

C-L, Tuesday, 3 January 2012 05:22 (thirteen years ago)

oh man

iatee, Tuesday, 3 January 2012 05:23 (thirteen years ago)

OK so this is gonna get spotted at the half yard line, and OK St will most likely score. But theoretically if somehow they don't, I think it might be the best thing ever (if you like NCAA insanity)

C-L, Tuesday, 3 January 2012 05:25 (thirteen years ago)

Awwww drat

C-L, Tuesday, 3 January 2012 05:28 (thirteen years ago)

brownie, Wednesday, 4 January 2012 02:55 (thirteen years ago)

Refs got that right on review, and now the kicker missed. BLUUUUUUEEEEEE!

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 4 January 2012 04:55 (thirteen years ago)

btw I'm not a usual Michigan fan by any means and don't really have a favorite in this game. I just like controversial things happening in OT.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 4 January 2012 04:57 (thirteen years ago)

brownie, Thursday, 5 January 2012 02:13 (thirteen years ago)

johnny crunch, Saturday, 7 January 2012 03:00 (thirteen years ago)

two weeks pass...

Chip Kelly in talks with the Bucs to be the new head coach, and sources predict that Oregon would go after Chris Petersen from Boise State if Kelly leaves. Meanwhile, Boise State probably wasn't even looking so who do they wind up with? Boise State RIP
