Shit, you have to get rid of this ball just a split second quicker. You'll see it here in the 2011 Week 2 NFL thread

"Just waking up after a late arrival, I've never seen a machine operate like that n person, to see video game numbers put up n person was WOW."

WTF is so bad about this?

Bruschi is such a tool.

Bruschi wants to bitch about something on the Pats is how did Chad Henny throw for 416 yards on NE's defense. CHAD HENNY...c'mon!

earlnash, Wednesday, 14 September 2011 21:23 (thirteen years ago)

more than half of those yards came in the last 8 mins with NE never less than 2 scores ahead and playing out the game - 3 long drives on which miami scored a total 7 points.

Roberto Spiralli, Wednesday, 14 September 2011 22:53 (thirteen years ago)

in general i thought the pats looked good on defense. more aggressive front to back than they have been in recent seasons, fairly good penetration and lots of tight coverage and passes defended.

Roberto Spiralli, Wednesday, 14 September 2011 22:56 (thirteen years ago)

it still seemed to me the game wasn't put out of reach until late, late into the 4th because of the pass defense. but they did look more aggressive

Bruschi is kind of nuts! iirc he was also bitching about how Ocho just woke up, like "why did you JUST GET UP, get to the stadium man!"

um, dude, their plane arrived in NE from miami at 5am?

daria-g, Thursday, 15 September 2011 02:08 (thirteen years ago)

Passing stats are getting more and more inflated, so I guess 400 yards is kind of a yawner anymore and I get they were way ahead which might count for 150 yards or so. But unless Chad Henne is starting to get good, which he might be, 416 against the NE Pats defense is still a whole lot of yards.

The Pats and Chargers game might be a total pinball/techmo bowl game this weekend by comparison. Sad thing that the Pats won't get to play the Saints or Packers this year, as that would definitely be a pass-o-rama game.

wtf is that monday night contest?

call all destroyer, Thursday, 15 September 2011 03:04 (thirteen years ago)

buffalo-oakland is so huge for both teams. Oakland really needs to lock up a 2-0 record going into games with the Jets and Pats.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 15 September 2011 03:28 (thirteen years ago)

10-6 week 1.

OAK @ BUF - I'm going Oaktown but more for Mark Van Eeghan than anything else. Buffalo really creamed the Chiefs and the Raiders got more penalties than a trader at tax time.
GB @ CAR- I wish the Panthers had better colors or uniforms, as they are really fugly. That blue should be tarheel blue. Packers to win of course, but it will be interesting to see how Newton's rookie campaign plays out.
KC @ DET- I'm going Lions. KC brought the suck last week and the Lions have a for-real DL.
CLE @ IND- Browns are the favorite on the road. Think about that. I'm still going Colts as they kind of fumbled their way to getting their ass kicked and I really think player for player even without Peyty, they are better than Cleveland.
TB @ MIN- Hard one to call. I thought the Vikings D looked pretty fresh last week for the most part. McNabb was looking more McSadd- which bummed me out. I'm taking Tampa in a close one, but neither club is that hot.
CHI @ NO- My heart wants to go with the Bears and I hope they win, but I don't quite yet buy it - Saints it is. Bears open with the Falcons, Saints and Packers. I'd be surprised if there is another club with 3 opening games like that.
JAC @ NYJ- Jags are still kind of an unknown. Jets it is.
SEA @ PIT- Steelers.
BAL @ TEN- Ravens, but I am curious to see how close a game it might be.
ARI @ WAS- This is a pretty decent matchup and harder to call than you would think. I'm going Redskins.
DAL @ SF- SF offense pretty poor. Dallas has quite a bit of talent and should win, but as note for the last years going back to Parcells, they play pretty stupid.
CIN @ DEN- Maybe cincy is better than thought, nah, I'll take Denver.
HOU @ MIA- I'll take the Texans, but won't be surprised if they lay an egg and lose, as they have never really shown any consistency.
SD @ NE- Good game. I'll take the Pats at home but be cheering for the Bolts.
PHI @ ATL- Could be a another good game. Gimme the Falcons in an upset.
STL @ NYG- Probably a pretty even matchup, which is weird. I'm going Giants

earlnash, Thursday, 15 September 2011 03:59 (thirteen years ago)

9 and 7 week one based off Yahoo guesses:

OAK @ BUF - Based solely on the stat sheet, I have some crazy belief that the Bills are for real and based solely on watching three quarters of that Raiders/Broncos game I have a very real belief that the Raiders are not yet playoff ready. Curious to see what Oakland does on the ground though.
GB @ CAR- Pack, duh. Curious to see how Cam reacts to being knocked around fairly hard.
KC @ DET- Lions. I think Kansas City is actually much worse than they appear.
CLE @ IND- Major gut check for Colts and I don't think they make it. Browns and maybe even convincingly.
TB @ MIN- Bucs unless McNabb clocks over 200 yards.
CHI @ NO- Saints but this is one of the more interesting games this week.
JAC @ NYJ- Jets, duh.
SEA @ PIT- This is going to get ugly.
BAL @ TEN- Ravens, sad to say. Tennessee has the potential to field a pretty solid offense if they've got their shit worked out but I can't believe that's gonna happen for several more games.
ARI @ WAS- Nu-Cards look better to me than new-skins but only by a smidgen. Who woulda thought this could be a fun game to watch?
DAL @ SF- Cowboys, but we all lose.
CIN @ DEN- no one, even in the home cities, cares. denver for homefield i guess.
HOU @ MIA- Texans and I think they're not only playoff bound, i think they're even gonna make it past the first round.
SD @ NE- AMERICA'S GAME. Potential record setting combined passing yardage game, triple digit scoring, cats and dogs making love. Pats i'm afraid.
PHI @ ATL- Philly but somebody is gonna get hurt here and it might be vick.
STL @ NYG- goddamn do the giants ever suck and goddamn do the saints suck even worse just now.

Bills - OAK's offense just doesn't look all the way there yet, but McFadden grows more beastly every game.
Packers - Panthers may be better, but the only team they've beaten is Arizona so far.
Lions - So happy Detroit can finally field a good (perhaps better-than-good) team.
Browns - I've thought for a while that INDY was a one-man operation. Kerry Collins isn't that man.
Saints - CHI was surprisingly good last week, and Urlacher will be playing this one for his mom, but I still take the Saints for a narrow win at home.
Jets - JAX is still a huge "?".
Steelers - They looked TERRIBLE last week, but SEA is traveling east and into PIT and that puts them at a severe disadvantage.
Ravens - They were maybe the best team I saw last week (Pats excluded). BAL/TEN games are always close, but BAL definitely has an edge this year.
Redskins - Maybe the most surprising team in week 1. I like them at home against the Cards.
Cowboys - Even traveling west, I think DAL just matches up against SF favorably.
Bengals - Why am I picking CIN? Because I saw DEN play on Monday night.
Texans - They won't roll over MIA like they did INDY, but they'll roll.
Patriots - NEP until further notice.
Eagles - I only watched part of ATL's game in CHI, but things weren't good. PHI will edge out a win.
Rams - Totally nutso pick, but NYG is an unknown right now.
